I'm not even going to begin to discuss where England went wrong or talk about officials and goal line technology but any German who thinks this was an impressive display by their team because they beat 'the mighty England' is very, very naive.
Congratulations for winning but England were, and have been appalling for the best part of 4 years now and after today should rightly lose any respect as a credible challenger in any major tournament. We gifted Germany all four goals, all credit for possessing the players who have the quality to finish them but you need a lot of help to rack up a score line like that and you got it against both ourselves and Australia.
Fair play Germans but you're defence is about to get turned inside out when you meet Argentina in the quarters. -

Haha!
Argentina vs Mexico was a nice game too. 3-1 should've been 2-1 though, the referees totally fucked up again...
I liked the fight after the first half. -

Wasn't able to watch the whole match, too much work for university. However I saw the 3rd goal which was just beautiful.
Now it's time to remove some monkeys from our back... -

I'm not too afraid of argentina, I think they and messi are overrated. -

i think germany overrates itsself. Germany was very lucky against england and i dont think they will be able to maintain that luck against countries like argentina.
let hope holland will kick slovakia out of the world cup, i think its going to be 3-0. -

Germany actually impressed me quite a bit.. If they won I thought it would be with a minimal difference, like 1-0.. Their counter attack was very sharp, and although they got a bit lucky with that Lampard goal, I never felt England could win.. And what a matchup, Argentina-Germany! I can't predict who would win, because they both are pretty strong in their attack and pretty weak in their defense..
Looking forward to the Netherlands (us)-Slovakia.. Robben starts as right winger and Kuyt as left winger which is awesome.. I can't imagine us losing with Robben/Sneijder/van Persie!

^Yeah but if we actually had any defence, some of those goals could have been stopped. I think at least 3 of your 4 goals were because of our lack of defense. You played well though and were the better team.
I think Germany will run into trouble against Argentina, but I hope they send the South Americans home. -

I was rooting for Slovakia after their fantastic game against Italy, but it didn't feel like they really wanted to win. Holland were tight defensively and made good counterattacks so I guess their victory was deserved.
Chile to spank the brazilians later today. -

How is every German naive who thinks that? England has world class players after all. The fact that England just sucked doesn't mean Germany didn't play well. First of all, when was the last time England got beat 4-1, second how was Germany's way to play football not impressive? They created chances with good passing and a lot of pace. Not just with playing old fashioned kick&rush-football.
England indeed was hyped a lot before the game (especially by the English media) but England has not been bad for 4 years. Look at the World Cup Qualifiers. From what I've seen England has been great in the WC Qualifiers.Congratulations for winning but England were, and have been appalling for the best part of 4 years now and after today should rightly lose any respect as a credible challenger in any major tournament. We gifted Germany all four goals, all credit for possessing the players who have the quality to finish them but you need a lot of help to rack up a score line like that and you got it against both ourselves and Australia.
It basically seems like you are very bitter about the game taking away the credit from Germany for the Australia and the England game. Germany was great in both matches...you almost make it sound like if you had played like you usually do, Germany wouldn't have had any chance at all (same for the Australia game). And what help are you talking about besides the ref not seeing that the ball was in. England played football for like 15 minutes in the whole game. The rest was just really bad. Germany on the other hand was great throughout the game besides the end of the first half.Fair play Germans but you're defence is about to get turned inside out when you meet Argentina in the quarters.
I wonder how your defence would've looked against them in that case. By the way, Argentina has the same problem...their defence is just as shaky as the German defence.i think germany overrates itsself. Germany was very lucky against england and i dont think they will be able to maintain that luck against countries like argentina.
How does Germany overrate itself? Before the WC incredibly few people believed we could even get to the quarters. Even now most Germans think Argentina is gonna end our WC hopes. So I don't see how Germany overrates itself. England was very lucky against Germany that it was only 2-0 when England scored the 2-1. Germany was lucky that the equalizer didn't count, indeed, but besides that what luck are you referring to??^Yeah but if we actually had any defence, some of those goals could have been stopped. I think at least 3 of your 4 goals were because of our lack of defense. You played well though and were the better team.

If Germany's defense wasn't so bad the English goal wouldn't have happened either. Horrible marking inside the box for that goal. All this "if blabla then blabla" simply doesn't work for football. But I agree that Germany will trouble against Argentina!
