In good old America, that ref would be afraid for his life right now. I assume there's no chance of overturning the ruling after the game?

BAD referees today.
MA: I can't remember a test case where the factual decision got overruled during a world cup.

I thought it had been goal, but there was an actual offside by one of USA players, it's a pity that it didn't make the difference.

@ MA - I've never heard of goals being allowed after the game has ended, even when it's very obvious that the ref took the wrong decision, so I'd say no.

You are right, the ref makes a decision then and can't change it afterwards, just look at the match France - Ireland in the prelms of this Worldcup ... The ref did admit he made a mistake, but france was going to the Worldcup and not Ireland
