I have a new confession.
On JoeZia's topic about resources editors, where he added the line "If you don't know what that is don't reply" I almost replied with the following: "I don't know what a resource editor is." -

When I post screens, I'm usually happy with the form of my buildings. I usually just want tips on details, or someone to catch something I missed. -

Then people should comment on the details I missed/could add, instead of the form of my buildings. -

If people are truly satisfied with the majority of their screens, than they should be complete (or nearly) as to give the viewer a look at what the builder's full vision was. If the builder is happy with what they have, then go ahead and finish the surrounding area.
I also hate it when people crop their screens in a distracting manner; just finish the screen or don't bother posting it. -

Wait, I thought screens were just a way to get recognition without finishing a project! I have been mislead... -

I must confess that I'm a little bit pissed/upset at the moment. I'd been working on a project (my last screen in the dump) that started as a design, became a rather extravagant bit of work for a 'design' and, with the advice of someone trusted, turned into a full-fledged mini park. All of a sudden (in year 107) I noticed that the rapids ride had stopped running and had a boat jam just after departing the station. Not usually a huge deal but, in this case I had built so much around and above where the entrance/exits were all hacked and buried that in order to fix the problem, I'd have to do a serious amount of work. After mulling over the issue for about an hour as I strategically started removing things in order to gain access to the station, I decided that since there were a few areas that I wasn't totally happy with because of map limitations due to the expansion from 'design' to 'park' that in the end I'd be better off just starting over.
The thing I'm pissed about is the fact that I can't, for the life of me, figure out why the rapids just stopped mid-track (immediately after a descent at that) and just backed everything up to the point that it seemingly had to at minimum have the station rebuilt (because of the hacks/invisible/rotated stations). The ride isn't broken down...just stopped dead in it's tracks. Sort of like the issue Liam has had with a few rides in his park. I'm not looking for help with this (although if anyone has a simple solution, I'm all ears), I'm just venting here since neither my wife or kids could give a flying fuck about any issues I have with a game that causes me to be in a shitty mood for an entire evening. Well, they DO.....they just don't understand that basically 'losing' 107 game years of work is pretty frustrating to a die-hard RCT'er.
Anyway....back to your regularly scheduled programming. -

I'm pretty upset that HBO continues to promote The Pacific, even though it is is far below Band of Brothers, when a much better show, Treme, gets almost no publicity. HBO show usually have their shit together. I don't get it.
I confess that I'm already in love with Treme after one episode. They can do no wrong. -

Money talks, the production of the Pacific has cost over 200 million (for 10 episodes or something) and they want to make a lot of money with it. Simple, right?I'm pretty upset that HBO continues to promote The Pacific, even though it is is far below Band of Brothers, when a much better show, Treme, gets almost no publicity. I honestly think the coolest thing with winning accolades is it appears (along with other accolades) in the banner above the latest release at the front page, for some time. I just love that feature. Although I've noticed that Mayra doesn't seem to have recieved a spot there yet. -

I hate when people make idiotic comments because they either didn't read the topic/post, or just don't get what I am trying to get at. -

well if 99% of the people have the same opinion and are telling you similar things, i think its time to either reconsider what you're building, or just stop posting screens without the intent to change them and just build whatever the heck you want.
just saying.Edited by In:Cities, 21 April 2010 - 08:38 AM.

k0ng, reduce hacking. it usually just bites your ass and makes what you built look unnatural and geeky, for it shows just how much pain you took upon yourself just to achieve a certain thing that viewers could admire you for.
