i think people are trying to prtray others as these selfish, arrogant people who want to make themselves feel better by knowing whats going on or thinking their screens are too good for public release. some people just prefer direct feedback or want to surprise the comunity.

Yeh I think people look too much into it. People don't show selected others for kicks. They do it because of advice.

I have a select few on msn that I show unfinished screens to just to get some feedback so I can go back in and adjust things to improve my work on what they have said, so that in the long run, when I release it or release a screen, more of the community like it and enjoy it, as that is partly why I build, I build for my enjoyment but at the same time I take pride in the fact that others also enjoy my work.

Anyways, I think that if someone doesn't want to show a screen, then who cares, it is their park, and if they don't want feedback from most of the people here, then that's that. Maybe they just want to show a screen to someone who they think will offer them some good advice rather than inflating the forums with useless "that's nice" posts. Like you said Sssammy, some people want to just have direct advice or surprise the community, but I think it is much more efficient if public.

Face it, guys, you're just not in the special club. Some might exclude you maliciously, but the vast majority don't. There's no need to take it personally. If you're not being included in the private viewings, you might start by actually striking up a conversation with the owner of that screen, establishing yourself as a credible source of advice, and asking to see it. It's on you to become a member of their personal testers. If the person doesn't consider you a friend, then you have no right to feel indignant about not being shown their screens. Like it or not, you are not entitled to see heir work just because you are a member of this forum.

personally, i dont really care to be involved in any 'club' of sorts.
rct is nothing more than a creative hobby for me.
i dont take it seriously in the least bit.
so for me to take the time to send out screens and stuff to other members is kindof pointless.
i build for fun, not to be critiqued by everyone.

that being said, i dont really talk to anyone from this forum at all outside of the boards.

with the exception of kumba occasionally, and sometimes sammy, i dont really talk to anyone.
oh, and i talk to steve, but its always about music and girls. not about the game. so i guess that doesnt count lol

really, i'll talk to just about anyone though.

I don't think it's this big ring of elite parkmakers who MSN each other screens and stuff though, just freinds sharing things and wanting advice. But Hell, I could be completly wrong.

So you added a 2nd map, why is that? 

Map data limit, I'm almost there. I moved the planned hotel to a second map and use that as an opportunity to add more stuff. No more themepark though.

That sucks liampie.. That map data limit really is a bitch (especially if you didn't build economically from early on )

I also planned hotels for epws originally, but cut them because I wanted to have only 1 map and also hit that map data limit.. Maybe I'll add extensions for epws once it's released, as my new project.. Hmm, that's actually a pretty good idea!

Yeah..the sharing of screens and shit between friends is normal and, I agree that sometimes you just want some advice BEFORE you post it here. Not that I ever do it because I have no friends here. I tried sending a layout of DBB to JDP so I'd know if it was worthy...but never got a reply and figured I'd just run with what I have rather than wait for the God Of Layouts to get back to me.
Besides...sometimes you're better off just going with what you know...fuck what they say.

That said...if you're not as confident in everything you do as I am.....feedback from others can be crucial. That's where you MAKE FRIENDS with people by whatever method you can. It takes some time and patience...but, it can reward you long-term.

Kong... I... I thought we had a strong friendship. I guess those hours upon hours of chatting, texting, late night phone calls, being pen pals, and all the slumber parties didn't mean much to you.
