General Chat / Black guy telling black jokes

    ^

Also, funny story about black people acting like "gangstas":

So I'm on an airplane flying back from Galveston after the cruise to Mexico, and it's one of those tiny planes. Like, one seat on one side, two seats on the other, and four seats in the very back. No bathroom, but the flight was short. I'm sitting in an aisle seat with my mom sitting in the window seat. Across from me are two black people. One in the seat diagonally from me, and one right across from me and behind the first one. Now, the first black guy was working on his laptop. I couldn't see what he was doing, but it looked like he was working on a spread sheet. The second black guy wasn't doing anything at all. The first black guy wore a polo shirt and khaki slacks, and he wore a nice gold watch on his right rist. He was bald. The second black guy was wearing a white baseball cap tilted sideways, a baggy white t-shirt that had that Michael Jordan logo on it, shorts that went down to his ankles with all kinds of embroidered designs on them, plaid boxers, and really puffy sneakers. He also wore an assortment of rings on one hand, had a cheap looking gold watch, and really weird looking sunglasses on.

I honestly felt like looking at him and saying, "Do you have any idea how ridiculous you look?"

And what's even funnier is that when everyone got off the plane to pick up their luggage at the luggage carousel, he meets up with what I'm guessing were his friends, and they looked almost exactly the same. And then as soon as they saw each other they started doing those really complex fist pound things, and saying things like, "Aw, wuddup my G," and all that crazy shit.

And really, I just think that that particular segment of the black community (rappists, gangstas, etc.) just give the entire black race a bad name.

...He gives them a bad name? For what, exactly? Because he's different than you? You act like you and your friends don't all dress similarly and use your own group-specific slang. Obviously the well-to-do black man is superior... Maybe that dude is a seriously evil fuck. Maybe when he takes his work clothes off, he dresses the same way. Is your opinion of him going to drop?

Do you have any idea how ridiculous you look? You're a little too old to be racially profiling people.
  • Dr_Dude%s's Photo
Yeah, really, there's absolutely nothing wrong with what the second dude was doing. If he grew up in an all-white community like mine or I'm assuming yours, yes, there's problem, but he's obviously got black friends.

Come on Xin, that was stupid to say
I'm in no way trying to be offensive but maybe it's just because you live in Indiana that you see that

I actually am very fond of these type of people in Brooklyn and Queens who live life with virtually nothing and still are capable of enjoying themselves even more than we do as more fortunate people. Unfortunately violence is a stereotype with these type of people, and I can't say it isn't accurate as I hear about something new everyday, but it is a small percentage

When people grow up in environments 99% different than your's, similar in only the government they live under, it is stupid for you to expect them to dress and talk like you

Okay, here's what I'm trying to get at:

Black person dresses ridiculously, I call him ridiculous. He accuses me of being racist. I look like the bad person.

The whole situation could've been avoided if the black person wore decent looking clothing. I'm not saying he should dress like the white man, nor am I saying that black people need to conform to the standards of white people, but I feel they're bringing it upon themselves when they dress the way they do. If they'd break away from the stereotypes that make them look bad, then maybe we wouldn't have a problem. Because the people who make stereotypes certainly aren't going to stop.

I don't know, I guess it all boils down to my distate of fashion. I don't try and dress a certain way. I wear jeans and a t-shirt. I don't care what people think. I think people who spend money on "designer" clothing or current fashion trends just so that they can impress someone are the dumbest people on the planet. I recently read an article on how you can get your kids to be smart with their money, and one of the ideas was to let your child have a $1,000 clothing budget. Are you fucking kidding me? One grand on clothing? What kind of clothing are you buying? Buy big and grow into it! Buy at Wal-Mart! I can't remember the last time I bought an article of clothing. Granted, I've stopped growing, but that shouldn't make a difference.

You know, if everyone were a nudist, we wouldn't have this problem...

    ooooooooppppppppiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnniiiiiiiiiiiooooooooooonnnnnnnnsssssssss.

and to your thing about fashion, not caring what people think about how you dress and not caring about how you dress yourself are two entirely different things. i don't care what people think about how i dress but i still care about how i look.

1,000 dollars is far from ridiculous for an entire wardrobe, no
Things like winter jackets cost 200 on their own, and I rather not wear WalMart clothing

so can we tell black jokes in here?

Investing $1000 on things you use every day is not stupid.

so can we tell black jokes in here?

    Good question.

Also, Comet, where do you live and where do you shop for clothing? When it's cold, I where my favorite hoody and my wool hat. And they keep me warm. If it's really cold, I'll put gloves on. I can see spending $300 on a clothing budget, but not $1,000. I have lots of shirts with holes in them. I sew them up, and they're good to go.

But enough about clothing. Are "good natured" black jokes okay here? Because I have a few.

Do you think when you type, or does it just kind of happen?

here's one reason you should at least make an effort towards having a good appearance.

    girls.

seriously bro, girls really look at what a guy wears, and how he keeps his appearance.
if she sees that he doesnt give a crap about what he looks like, or what he wears, than she most definately wouldnt want to have anything to do with you.
i'm not saying that all girls are superficial, or that we should try to buy the best designer clothes to make a false impression of coolness or whatever, i'm just saying that if you dont give a crap about what you look like, then most girls wont give a crap about you.

i know you're in college and everything now man, so this should be the time where you should really try to stay on the ball about this sort of thing.

it goes especially for me haha. 5:1 girl guy ratio? i need to make sure i stay fresh all the time;]

oh, and as for the black thing.
i grew up in a town that was basically built to be racially divided.
we literally have a section called Harlem, with only black people there.
we also have Twin Lakes, with only Mexicans.
and on the other side of the highway, we have all the white people.
needless to say, i'm used to a LOT of racial tension.

i agree with the fact that black dudes trying to act all 'ghetto' and 'thug' and 'gangsta' only succeed in making themselves look ridiculous and have others look down on them. (which is a base for racism)
i find that to be incredibly stupid, and do not like it in the least bit (even though it can be pretty amusing sometimes lol)
but then again, these ridiculous stereotypes can be found in all races.
i mean, theres the 'snobby rich white guy', theres the 'orange picking chico', theres the 'cat eating asian', and the list goes on.

if you think about it, it doesnt come down to groups as a whole, it comes down to individuals, and how they are influenced by the styles and behaviors of their peers.

now one thing that really does get me mad is when people try to act like they're all 'hard' and deal with the whole 'street life' crap.
ooh what, because they walk the streets late at night and see a few dealers and homeless dudes, that makes them ghetto?
god i want to get so many of these little posers and take them to some real streets.

see how long they last in johannesburg south africa:]

maybe then they could be called true thugs from the street.

[oh, and your arguement about how black people should dress better is completely irrelevant. who is to say that 'white people' dress better than blacks?]

kong, you should write a book.

    seriously.

you always get your point across so clearly, and your comments always make perfect sense to me lol.

shoot, if you wrote one, i'd buy it.
    the timeless wisdom of KONG.

    back on topic,

    http://www.youtube.c...h?v=f0Dygva3p3I

this was filmed in palm beach, about 10 minutes from where i live.
proves my point about how ridiculous the whole 'gangsta and thug' lifestyle is.

also proves that they cant fight.
unless they get a team of like 9 guys and jump you

Alright, I'll pull this back on topic.

What do you get when you mix a black person with an octopus?

I don't know, but it can sure as fuck pick cotton.

Also, Fullmetal, you need to stop.

Hey, I live in Indiana and I'm not racist. Infact, I see racists as ignorant and unfair and tend to avoid or ignore one.
