the new bill proposed in the senate would give the white house control to shut down the system.

A lot of stupid bills have been proposed. Call me when it passes.
You've already lost my respect, mattec. -

Like anyone cares, even if it passes. They can already kill you, who gives a shit about them turning off the internet? -

Amen, brother.Post from a legitimate news source before I give a shit.
EDIT: Also, I got a very "conservative" vibe from the article. Just a bunch of republican crazies who fear any form of gov't control because they're afraid that they might have to give up their guns. Giving the President control of the private-sector is rather infringing, but, we have to remember that this is Obama, not Bush. Obama = Sensible, intelligent. Bush = God-fearing war monger. I have confidence that Obama will make the right decision for the American people.Edited by FullMetal, 02 September 2009 - 06:56 PM.

I love how the idiots running our government don't understand technology in the slightest. The internet can't be shut off that easily. (That's pretty much the point of the system, after all.)

EDIT: and FullMetal, who infringes the people's rights is irrelevant. Obama would be just as wrong to do it as Bush.Edited by ACEfanatic02, 03 September 2009 - 03:02 PM.

I'll just head northward to Canada, last I checked they had a good economy, nobody's complained about THEIR leader.. I think, and I'd have a sexy accent there, too. American. Yum.

These laws almost never pass, such as driving age at 18 because of dui, and stricter gun laws for people who dont have permits (they should actually pass those though) but most of these bills never become a law. -

, nobody's complained about THEIR leader..
Actually, yeah. They have a conservative PM right now, which, for us, would be like if we elected Ralph Nader. He already dissolved their parliament or something. -

ACE, I was making mention of the fact that I don't think Obama would make such a foolish decision. I didn't mean that Obama doing it would be any better than Bush doing it. I guess there was a little confusion there.
And I would never move to Canada because Kevin lives there. I'm too close as it is.
