My thoughts on the past week. This may be a really long post.

    BYU-Oklahoma:
The Sooners play two cupcake games and a bye week, which gives Bradford plenty of time to rest.

Oklahoma has 1 cupcake game, Idaho St. Then they play Tulsa, not a cupcake by any means, they are a top team in CUSA and have a top 10 offense.

I'm not saying that Tulsa will win, but it won't be a blow out.

Thanks Becky. Yeah, I must not have been thinking as straight as I could have when I wrote that up...a lot of text and writing. Yeah, since Rodriguez, White, and Slaton left WVU, they just haven't been there. And true Cincy is on a roll right now. NC State's almost win over Rutgers last year proves that it's not their year in the Big East. Also, mattec I must've missed that, and just went with what the announcers said in saying Oklahoma has two "creampuff" games.

Ahh shit Miami. I'm pulling for the Canes because a win for FSU is not good for the Wolfpack, but damn, that interception, 2-pt conversion, and injury to Harris may well extinguish any of the Canes' chances at victory.
  • Dark_Horse%s's Photo
^And my 15 pt win prediction. If the Canes can't beat FSU, we're gonna have a helluva time down in Tallahassee for Halloween.

    helluva game, congrats miami!

    oh my god.
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, amazing game--Jacory Harris put in a stellar performance after getting knocked up, though some of that is due to FSU's mental lapses on defense. Still, Miami played great and put on a great show. Can't wait 'til next week now!

we finally have a decent QB since dorsey.

i'm just hoping harris stays playing at this level!
  • Dark_Horse%s's Photo
^^Good thing we don't play the Canes, but we might be in for a shock on Halloween.

And I gotta give Harris credit, he's a damn good QB. Would be interesting to see him vs. Wilson/Glennon

Well, OSU gets USC and their 'rookie' QB this Saturday. Kid looked pretty good in the 56-3 romp over (yeah, I know) SJSU Saturday. I'm not going to say anything else just now but........for an 18 year old to debut like that.......

Feels like I just kicked iris in the balls

Amazing ending just when it looked like we would get robbed :mantis:

WV is not the big powerhouse in the Big East because Cincinnati is going to rule that conference...that Rutgers game was a blowout...and to think the analysts thought this was Rutgers year...

    RAWR.

I kind of wish the bearcats would be more consistent, but a score like that is hard to dislike.

Dorsey??? decent?? wow...this harris guy is waaaayyy better than dorsey was or ever could be...anyhoo, I went to bed too early...that must have been a good game!

What does RAWR mean Intamin? sorry, I'm not up on the acronyms...

and Kong...I read the stats..your 18 yr old QB is for real. And, while I hope to god we win Saturday, I'm not so stupid to think that USC could come in and blow our butts out of the top ten...at this point, I just hope we stay with you guys and if we lose, we don't get humiliated like last year...especially in our house.

We cannot play "tresel ball" and beat USC...so we need Tressel to stop being conservative and rip it open.

Nice to see Oklahoma drop to 13 and BYU jump to 9 and Cincinnati is in there finally at 23...

Jackets fumbled a bit much, but we still kicked ass against the nobody team.

Also, Nesbit passed VERY well, with not much to show, our reciever really sucked it up, they could use me out there. :)
  • In:Cities%s's Photo
lol well, dorsey was a much better QB than the other QBs that came behind him, like Berlin, Wright, and Marve.
    (god i hated marve lol)

but yeah, harris looked REALLLY REALLY good last night.
if he keeps up passing and putting up stats like that, he could possibly lead us to the ACC championship.

my biggest worry now is GT though.
we've never managed to beat those guys when we needed to!

    (oh, and spiderman beats batman)

Anyone care to explain the dealio with College Football and ordinary American Football and the Superbowl and shizz?
  • In:Cities%s's Photo
in my opinion, college football is much much more fun to watch than the NFL, simply because of the rivalries and traditions.

college games are always packed with students, which helps to create a super hyped up atmosphere, along with established university traditions.
many schools have rivalries against one another, which also adds more intensity and higher stakes on the game.

most people usually have a specific college or two that they are fiercely loyal to, which is either due to it being their alma mater, from the same city/region, have friends that go there, or various reasons.

the way i see it, college football is much more personal and exciting than the NFL.

the NFL is our pro league, which consists of top players that were either drafted from college, or free agents (which is very rare)
in the NFL, the teams are all professional, so i mean, yes some teams are better than the others, but for the most part, teams are pretty balanced out. there is top talent on each team, and tons of money invested in players/coaches/facilities, and such.
yes, i like NFL, and enjoy watching it, but it just doesnt compare to watching college football in my opinion.

in college, the games are almost always more exciting.
every week there are upsets, and crazy games.
a lot more trick plays and rushing yards than in the NFL.

idk man, a lot of people prefer the NFL over college ball, but for me personally, i enjoy NCAA games much more:]

    ok sooooo

NFL is like our Premiership and Coca-Cola Championship and then College Football is like League 1,2 & Conference. Coolio.
