Actually, a playoff would probably result in less games. Look at the FCS schools, who already use a playoff system, and count the number of games they play to the number of bowls.

On a basketball side-note, what a douche Roy Williams is: Douchiness at it's best

64 game large scale playoffs, anyone?

If you look at the bill's structure, it would probably be smaller, and would basically be the top ten teams or so battling it out....pretty much the same, continuing to screw over the small teams...

But in MY perfect college football world, the little teams would be able to play the big teams in the playoffs, therefore showing what they've got.

Of course, said Bill probably isn't like that... :(

Thats what the first few weeks are for, and rarely, and i mean RARELY does a non-bcs team beat a bcs team, cept for Boise and TCU, sometimes utah, and this year, BYU.

What...no chatter about the bowl games?

I'm not doing great with my picks but I'm still in the hunt in our pool. Fresno State messed me up right off the git-go and since then I've been holding my own...my losses besides Fresno have been BYU...who knew they were actually decent? since Fla St beat the crap out of them..SMU over Nevada...well that one was a tossup anyway, 50/50 chance on that one and I blew it..Then of course I picked Ohio U over Marshall, and honestly I should have known better, and I had Temple over UCLA which was a good pick but their running back got hurt and couldn't play the second half.

Miami (the ones with the long sleeves in 49 degrees...sorry, but I thought that was hilarious) could not contain John Clay from Wisconsin...The Buckeyes beat Wisconsin 31-13 soooo....just sayin....
tonight should be an interesting match up between Nebraska (all defense) and Arizona (all offense)...actually may make for a very low scoring boring game.

So far, Mountain West is the league looking the best...but then it is early. How has everyone else done in your picks (if you have done that?)

And Miami lost 31-7 to VaTech...just sayin?

Miami is just an average team in an average conference, just like Wisconsin, honestly. I mean, this is a team that lost to UNC, that should tell you something. :p

    Right now I'm 9-4

the first three games messed me up, and it was a real shame miami couldn't come back...

Glad marshall won, even more glad that they could prove 91.2% of people participating in bowl mania wrong.

overall, it's been a pretty good season so far, and the best is yet to come.

    Edit: Come on IDAHO!!!

I know this is the football thread, but I see no need for a new topic for college bball.

NC STATE BEAT DUKE. So glad I got a ticket and went to that game. The atmosphere was incredible at RBC Center, and the Pack finally played as a team. Offense moved well to get open, and defense stepped up on rebounding. What a great gift for Tracy Smith: a win over Duke on his birthday.

Like I said, there's no need for a new thread. Buckeye Becky (or an admin) could just change the topic title to College Sports. I really see no sense in making a whole new topic.

So anyway, WE BEAT DUKE!!!! WOOT!!! I hope you were at hte game, gir.

I'm guessing this is a bad time to admit that I'm a Duke fan? >.<
