To be honest, I'm scared. My sister has serious problems with this series, that I have practically given up all logic. Everything she does has to do with Twilight and New Moon. She started a countdown for this movie, over a YEAR ago.

It's gonna be stupid to say the least.

I'm with drumma on this one... Twilight was awesome and i get chills of excitement when I think about how great New Moon will be!

I made it about two pages into Twilight before I had to stop because the writing was so terrible.

If anyone here's actually read the series, does the writing get any better later on? Just curious.

I have no problems with the Twilight series. I read the first book for my girlfriend before the movie came out in theatres and seriously, I did not think it was terrible. It may not be the most well written book but it kept my interest enough which is all that matters. I think guys immediately dismiss the series because of the reputation it has earned but I think everyone should give it a chance. I also think myself to be very picky when it comes to films and I enjoyed the movie as well (not to mention the soundtrack was pretty solid, and New Moon's soundtrack is turning out the same way).

this is truth. both Thom Yorke and Bon Iver have penned new songs for this soundtrack. it's great to see these bands getting out there.

I believe I posted elsewhere (music forum, I think?) that something being successful does not mean that it is good. That goes double for anything artistic.

And, hey, I'll be open-minded here and say that, perhaps, somewhere in there is a compelling story. (Reviews and plot synopsis I've read indicate this is unlikely.) But regardless, the first few pages read like a fanfiction, both in terms of writing -- the author needs to lose her adverbs and fear of the word "said" -- and in editing.

I'm tempted to get the book to do a more complete criticism, but I don't really want to spend any money on it.

I dont really want to see this movie. I think everybody that likes the Twilight movie just watched it because they think it has a "cute" plot.

I'm sure I'll never read the books, but I did see the movie. It was pretty good, not the best ever, but not bad either. I was entertained.... I also enjoyed both of the soundtracks.
