Yeah Panther, In:Cites and Maverix are clearly repeat offenders for failing to update their teams around bye weeks.

Next year the league size will likely stay at 12 and if three new guys (JKay, Deano, ect) want in they can have their spots.

Interesting to note that this week, unless tied, will give us a true #1 seed team with the matchup between the Skyhawks and Iguanaz. Also, K0NG can find himself seeded in the playoffs with a win here and a loss by his two division rivals. Meanwhile the North is still a tight race between the War Elephants and Wolf Bobs.

I just love making trades!

Panther33 gets: Josh Freemen & Brandon Marshall
Kumba gets: Kyle Orten & Marques Colston

Kumba gets a top QB, another good WR and Panther gets his fav team's QB and a big name WR.

Did Freeman and Marshall just go on IR or something? Because on the surface, that trade almost seems fair.

A battle of the two 7-1 teams will highlight week 9. The winner will officially clinched their division and a home-game in the playoffs. The loser will likely also claim their division and a home-game, but need to wait a little longer. gir should have an edge in the match-up as Kumba will not be able to use Gore, Lloyd, Davis and the newly acquired Kyle Orten who all have week 9 byes.

Let's not overlook a couple of other key match-ups like Chapelz vs K0NG. Chapelz has won five in a row and K0NG has taken down three in a row, so something will need to give. Then we have Maverick vs. a hungry tdub who will be looking to knock off a top team, so he can get back to his start of season form. JDP and Comet should be a good one or at least better than the double dog match-ups of the four 2-6 teams in Panther vs. Maverix and Top Gun vs. In:Cites. Winning there could be as simple as starting people who are not on bye weeks!

    Good luck everyone!

Ugh, I love how the last few weeks all my players are getting on byes... its killing me

How do you guys score a difference between a home and an away team?

*edit: oh and I definitely want in next year!
  • Maverick%s's Photo
+1 for the home team. However, if you were to look at the standings these points don't count.

Ok, I'm getting nervous about my comeback here. Gates is now doubtful (they want to give him the week off because they have their bye next week and he can heal for two weeks this way) and I just heard on the radio that the Saints announced that Brees is dealing with a rather serious knee injury and HE might sit as well. And Garrard has his bye this week, so that -31 is shrinking fast.....grrrrr

Damn gir is tough to shake! Looks like im up 10 with Kitna to go, but damn I hate not having anyone Monday night when you got the Steelers D/ST and Ward who should do great... gona need like 20 from Kitna to feel confident tomorrow. Good thing all the Cowboys do is throw, just he's no Romo...
  • gir%s's Photo
Should be a close one...really disappointed with Run DMC, McCoy, and Boldin tonight though.

edit: 17 points to tie...possible, but Hines Ward will need to have one of his better games, Steelers D won't win this alone.

I don't think Mendenhall is gonna outscore Ben and Wallace... Oh well, got to watch the Browns abuse the Patriots so I'm good this week! :)

    98-97 I win!!! :mantis:

...well till tomorrow when they add the fumble recovery they missed :|
  • Maverick%s's Photo
This has to be my lowest possible scoring week in a long time. Other than Rodgers and Mendenhall, everyone was below par.

    98-97 I win!!! :mantis:

...well till tomorrow when they add the fumble recovery they missed :|

Regardless, I have four games this season decided by 2 points or less. Pretty crazy stuff.

    3, but whose counting...

I kinda beat myself with starting Kitna and using the Falcons, two late hunch moves that messed me up since not doing either of them would have equaled a win rather than me stepping on my dick the way I did. Oh and Ward's touchdown was not a touchdown!

On the plus side I clinched my division/a top 4 seed since both Maverix and Top Gun (he tied In:Cites) did not win. Also I can get a huge win vs Chaplez this week and maybe tdub can beat gir for me :p

So congrats on first place gir, I pretty much gave it to you :mantis:

Week 9 had some amazingly close match-ups including the gir vs. Kumba match which lived up to the hype. gir won by the slimiest possible margin when the score went final at 99-98. This means the Skyhawks are now alone in first place. We (really) had our first ever tie as In:Cites and Top Gun kissed their sisters. Also Chapelz brought his win streak up to 6 in a row by knocking off K0NG. Comet, Panther and tdub also gained wins in week 9.

Also with only four games left the playoff picture is now a little less foggy. Here is a look at the standings:

    $*#gir 8-1
    $*#Kumba 7-2
    *#Chapelz 7-2
    Maverick 6-3
    #tdub 5-4
    Comet 4-5
    JDP 4-5
    K0NG 3-6
    Panther 3-6
    Top Gun 2-6-1
    In:Cites 2-6-1
    Maverix 2-7

    $ - Clinched Division
    * - Clinched a playoff spot
    # - Leading Division
x - Out of playoff contention

With only four games left no one in the East or South can catch gir or Kumba. With 7 wins Chapelz will finish on the better side of 500 no matter what, so seeing as 8 of the 12 teams make the playoffs he's going to be in it. Still a lot can happen in four games, so the fight for the final 5 playoff spots is anyone's to win. Also no teams is yet out of the race yet, even Maverix who is at the bottom at 2-7.

Week 10 sports two huge match-ups with East division leader gir facing West division leader tdub AND South division leader Kumba facing North division leader Chapelz. Those matches pretty much overshadow the rest where people lower on the ladder will slug it out.

    Good luck everyone!

Bad week for me and Maverick, I was just a little less bad haha.
  • Maverick%s's Photo
Yeah bad is right... at least you came close to your projected total... I was off by at least 40!
  • K0NG%s's Photo
Well, Thursday was kind to me...considering I was pretty much stuck with McGaHee since 3/4 of my roster is on a bye. Thankfully Roddy had a good game. Garrard is going against Houston's porous secondary so, I won't miss Brees this week but, I'm nervous about almost every other slot on my roster. Time will tell...and, I'm desperate for a win to keep any hopes of a playoff berth alive. After this week, I should be ok the rest of the way out.
