What do you play man? I played TE on my mid school team, sucked but had a few TD's on plays I drew up, lol. Never even tried out for football in HS, just basketball. What was the point anyways, Frank Gore was the year ahead of me so all we did was run him and no one else got the ball. I Was a pretty good WR in PE ball tho, with over 10 TDs. -

They are going to be the ones to beat this year... I expect at least a super bowl appearance for them. -

I don't know about that, I'll give them top 10 definitely though
I'm just a huge fan so I would hate you guys to have one of them and me have to root against them -

Just so you guys know last year's runner-up In:Cities is also in, this was confirmed by text message
Also Maverick and tdub I need your E-mails so I can invite you to join our ESPN league. Without that you can't play.
I think 12 players is plenty, so this will basically lock up. If anyone else wants to join post, just might take one of the current 12 dropping out for you to get in. To many teams gets annoying. -

Getting pretty excited about this... who's ok with doing the draft next weekend? Tho the Jets/Giants game is on the Monday after and id like to see what happens in each teams game, but it's preseason... idk
Also other than K0NG (California) and Chapelz (Texas) I think everyone is in the EST? Is that right?
So let me know when you guys want to draft and we can see what we come up with. -

Weird seeing another "Maverick" on that team list... I had to resort to my first "new" coaster; RWB.
I doubt I can get much done on weekends. Movie theatre, ya know... If need-be I'll just have to auto-draft. -

Personally, as amped as I am to get going, (and apparently I'm not alone) I think maybe we should wait until the week prior to the regular season to do the draft. Since we have our own agenda and can do pretty much whatever we want, it might work out better if everyone has the chance to evaluate a little bit with as much pre-season info as possible. I'm pretty sure (I haven't checked) that they'll open the season on a Thursday again so...maybe the Saturday prior to that? Next weekend would be horrible for me as Mrs.K0NG and K0NG'sLilKid will be in Boston for 6 days so I won't be focused on anything but getting away with everything that I can't do when they're home (ie:blatant debauchery and no witnesses).
As for the season itself. Since it looks like we'll have 12 teams, will we just play everyone once with one bye (please say no).....or do a "play teams in your division twice and single games outside of your division once" so that playoff teams might be meeting up for the first time? I think, with 12 teams, we should set up 3 'divisions' of 4 teams each where divisional teams will play each other twice during the regular season and have the other 5 games against random teams from the other divisions which will result in no byes.
If you want some assistance with setting up a schedule..PM me. I've commissioned our local 'over 30' baseball league for the last 8 years running so I have a good idea how to do scheduling. -

Totally agree K0NG. Both on waiting till later and maybe doing divisions, thing with that is if one owns everyone you could have teams with weaker records overall making the playoffs, got to think about that one...
I only suggested doing the draft next weekend because im very impatient
Waiting till about a week before the first game is the most logical way to go... or till Favre decides if he's coming back -

Farve is playing, enough with the ankle that the saints beat on him..haha
I do like the division idea. Great opportunitties.. and go by where we all live.. north, south, east and west -

Well looks like I can pretty much do that. Here's what I have right now...
4 Divisions, 3 teams each selected based on last years records (1+8, 2+7, 3+6, 4+5) plus an "expansion team"
We play 13 regular season games, NFL weeks 1-13. So each team plays the two in their division twice, that's 4 games, then 9 more vs the rest of the league makes 13.
For the playoffs I like to be fairly generous, so id like the top two teams from each division to go in (seeding by overall record), that way it's the top 8 and you just need to avoid a last place finish within your division. Thing is then the playoffs is weeks 14-16 and if you recall last year teams like the Colts and Saints sat starters since they knew they had a first round bye, so it will hurt teams with players on teams with locks at that point. Then again it is a real test of how much of a fantasy expert you are to have a strong line-up in a week 15 or 16 game.
Also if we go 16 weeks we milk the season for almost all its worth and I like that. Still the championship in week 16 and idea of a team having a top 8 record and missing the playoffs due to bottoming out in your division does not sit to well with me.
Overall I think this can work best. What do you guys think?
