RCT Discussion / Cool Screens

  • inVersed%s's Photo
So after silently following CD5's Charleston Gardens Amusement Park, I decided to go over to this Atari site for RCT3 and look at a few of the other parks over there. Here a few of the screens that stood out as representation of the marvels that can be created in that game (if unlike me you have a system strong enough to handle RCT3)

    Posted Image
This screen is from FlyingDutchman7's Lake Horseshoue's Tropical Adventure. Notice the detailing put in this stall to enhance realism. Everything is here from various cup sizes, soft drink fountain, and french fry grease bath.

    Posted Image
From Twilight Point Dubai by towersdude & johnnycannon8. Look at the architectural details in this park entrance, it rivals (if not surpasses) that of some of the most elite parkmakers at this site.

    Posted Image
From the same park. This close up on the facade shows the scaffolding that adds realistic detail and gives it that "under construction" appearance.

This screen by masketbandit101 from Dreams Park leaves me speechless

    ...so does this one

    ...and this one

    ...and finally this one

A Hotel by Boston in his Experimental Park but wait...

    Posted Image
    ...look at that fuckin interior

    Posted Image
Masketbandit101 making use of RCT3's water park feature here with his Tidal Point Waterpark

    Posted Image
An image from the "dry" side of Tidal Point.

    Posted Image
The scale of this woodie by kidfox from South Metro Studios seems pretty immense. Even though this screen isn't finished I still quite like it

    Posted Image
unnamed Intamin Giga Coaster by maskedbandit101 notice the lighting and the beautiful night setting

    Posted Image
Lastly an pretty cool night image of a wooden coaster named Outback by CoasterJoe

Hope you all don't mind me posting some of these shots here... Considering how many of you love Charleston Gardens.. i figured you might find these screens intriguing as well... if you want, have a look around at these atari forums here and if you see something that stands out to you post it here. I would love to see what you find.

Some great screens there... would you happen to know who made the Disney park with the rapids ride and train go through (what I think was) the Indiana Jones Adventure? Was a couple years back, I think... just looked amazing.'

Also, what are your PC specs? How crazy of a park can you have before it starts lagging?

I've been in awe of a lot of the stuff I've seen in RCT3. Probably more so than anything in RCT2 or LL because I don't understand how they're doing it. Is this stuff already in the game or are they creating it in a 3D rendering program and then importing it? I suspect it's the latter (like RCT2 scenery) but I wish I knew how to do what they're doing. That's a lot closer to what I see in my head than anything I've been able to make in RCT.

The only problem I have with RCT3 is that everything appears so... plastic. So much of the custom scenery created for the game has absolutely no texture at all, and when its beside the foliage and pathways and people, there is so much clash and the architecture looks so out of place. I'm basically teaching myself to deal with it whenever i go onto rct3 forums, and whenever i play the game myself.

There's an awesome Tokyo Disneyland & Tokyo DisneySea recreation going on over there, I'll try get some screens posted.

    ^ That's pretty.

Once I get a new fancy computer I might try Rct3 out again, especially now that there's custom scenery available. However, I'm still concerned about lag and the limitations of the custom scenery. A lot of parks seem to be very defined by their custom scenery selection.

Take a look at circleVision's Oceania or shyguy's Wonder World and you'll be picking your jaw off the floor.

    Also, don't forget my parks!

These screens look great, but tbh I'd like them better in RCT2... Just my $0.02 though...

They're also coming out with custom rides for RCT3 too. It's pretty amazing, they just started appearing last September.

Decided to revive this, I'm actually starting to think people may be onto something when they talk about RCT3's potential.

If only every computer could have high quality graphics card, just imagine what would be created here.

There's undoubtedly a lot of things you can do in this game that you can't do in RCT2, to the point that I wanna try it out myself. If anyone on here knows, what is needed to build stuff like that shown in the screens? Is there custom objects packs, trainers, patches etc. that needs to be acquired, and if so, where can I get them?

EDIT: that dive coaster pic (the fourth one) is stunning!

You need a lot of custom scenery. There's a huge database here. I've been told Vodhin's sets are good as well as Steelworx and all of Shyguy's sets.

also, anyone know what graphics card can handle RCT3 because I want to download a few of these and check them out.
  • turbin3%s's Photo
What for a graphic card do you have? How many RAM? Which processor?
I need some informations to answer your question. ;)

Me thinks if you have an X58 board, with an Intel i7 965 Extreme edition and a quad crossfire solution with AMD Ati 5780's and about 24 GB of Ram, , it will run pretty smoothly on 1920x1080.
