I guess I missed the 'flier' coaster in Dinotopia. Did anyone else find it?
@Micool --> Do you even own RCT2? If you do then why don't you participate in actually voicing your opinion through your vote instead of talking bullshit. If you don't, you really have no room to trash either of these parks based on aerials when things in both of these parks need to be seen in game to appreciate the work that went into them.
Which leads me to my next point. Why is it so hard for people to vote? It's truly pathetic, and this goes for ALL the matches. Many players that are actually involved in the contest rarely vote and it's pretty pathetic when captains can't even get their votes in.
In this match alone, 18 out of 35 votes are from people not even in the competition. When in an RCT2 match, we should get 40 votes just from people in the contest, well minus Micool I guess.
So what you basically say is that...
you want to have ~ 53 votes? ^^
We just had a european election with a participation of 40 percent in average. The people aren't interested in democratic processes anymore xD
B²T: I REALLY think I missed the greatness in Belmont. I know, it was nice any tidy and nifty and everything. But 50% covered with grey path? well... I guess I am leaning towards fantasy right now -

57. The 18 from outside the teams and 39 participants.(40-Micool)So what you basically say is that...

But, I'd imagine that out of the 40% that are interested, you're getting close to 100% participation. Seeing as this is a RCT fansite that people willingly come to, the "interest" is a given. So, the % of members able to vote that actually are voting could (should?) be higher. We just had a european election with a participation of 40 percent in average. The fact that this park is most definitely shooting for realism would kind of dictate the use of gray 'path', since the majority of seaside parks such as this truly do consist of vast amounts of asphalt/concrete with small areas of manicured landscaping interspersing the "traffic zones". For our teams sake, I'm just glad that you're in the minority that "missed" the greatness. As I watched this park develop, I knew we had something special going here and I'm happy that most voters seem to agree.B²T: I REALLY think I missed the greatness in Belmont. 57 - some for us = about 53 ^^
Well... I can only speak for me, but I'm kind of disappointed of some of the trends so far. I would be able to understand it, if people from certain teams just weren't motivated to vote anymore.
We don't have many parks of this kind here in Germany, we usually have "themed-to-the-brim"-ones. As a matter of fact, this MIGHT be the reason for me not understanding the hype, because I'm just not familiar with this style of (rl)-park"making", it's just not as pleasing to me as a park that has been built to transport a message, to tell a story, not just to look "real".
I don't want to sound jaundiced here because you most certainly will win this round. I think you as a team did plan this matchup quite good, you got us on this one with the current trends within the community in mind. -

Personally, I don't see the equation between being somewhat disgruntled by the outcome of some of the matches so far and not being motivated to continue to vote. In round 3, our team was labeled somehow as being 'unsportsmanlike' because we decided to not allow a (by rule) DQ'd entry to participate. Now, I see people saying that they have no motivation to vote because things didn't turn out like they'd planned. I can understand not being motivated to build an entry for round 5 if you're out of the running but, to not even continue to vote because you got your ass kicked is a prime example of bad 'sportsmanship'. And, I see it in the vote totals. Less people are voting because they know they can't win anymore. These people are fucking pussies. These people should buy my Green Day tickets.
Of course, my viewpoint is one that only 10 people can legally attain. Nonetheless, coming out now (preceding the last week of the 'regular season') with shit about not even being motivated to VOTE any longer is.....well, something only a child would think. "Takin' my ball and going home".
Oh yeah.....sometimes I forget the clientele here.
I'm truly sorry (for the immediate lack of a better term) that you have no small, beachside parks like this wherever you are. They're SO much fun to visit occasionally. The lack of ever experiencing something like this MIGHT influence one to not understand the real meaning of a "park". People that don't understand things tend to dismiss them. It's human nature. Not every "park" needs to tell a story or "transport a message". Some things are meant to just be enjoyed for what they are. And, this particular 'park' wasn't just some re-creation of an existing entity....there was a lot of thought and planning that went into making it a combination of something that IS there to be seen and something that we thought we'd LIKE to see.
And yeah, we will win this round (just like I predicted in Kumba's "Playoff Scenarios/Mid-Season Review" topic) and coast into the playoffs (BTW...I'd LOVE to think that any opponent in the playoffs thinks we've 'shot our wad' already...it's only gonna get better) while everyone else is battling to stay alive.
The one thing you have right is......we definitely planned out who would do what against who in what matchups. We obviously had no idea what individuals we'd be up against in any particular round, but....maybe we guessed right or.....maybe we're just THAT good. Either way....... We're 4-0 and you're not.
And, our team was assembled as it was because of our affliction within ourselves to create 'real' things. The same way Elementalists were assembled for their proclivity to do fantasy. It had NOTHING to do with any "trends". Gee just did one HELL of a job of getting the right people to do the job at hand. And, it shows.
You can be 'disappointed' in trends all you want but, they are what they are. Some people see trends and embrace them, others try to buck them to their own dismay. -

This feels like treason, so sorry Darren, but I love Belmont. It reminds me of every boardwalk I loved going to when I was younger and still love. My only wish to it was that there was more! A smaller Hurricane-style coaster would've been cool, and maybe a flat or two extra, like Santa Cruz. However, beside fro ma few spots of archy that I didnt like, the park was perfect. -

I feel the same about boardwalk parks as mifune but I can easily see how realistic this one is and that's something that makes it a great park. All in all I do have to say that it didn't completely blow my mind away though because I just like themed parks like Calypso Quay, or World Showcase better. However I did understand your opininion until this, K0ng:The one thing you have right is......we definitely planned out who would do what against who in what matchups. That is so arrogant.
I do agree on Geewhzz having done a good job with choosing people but I wish you would be in a different team so that I wouldn't need to see any of your arrogance.
Another thing:
You, the one who probably starts the most discussions on this website out of all users, are one of the only users who doesn't seem to realize that different people can have different opinions. There is no right or wrong that everybody agrees on for things like rct.Edited by Fisch, 12 June 2009 - 10:27 PM.

I'm guessing the Bubba gump building, and maybe some of the archy on the road. Smaller archy within the park as well, like maybe the arcade. -
