Don't forget about the Christmas Card Contest! Entries are due this Friday!
2002
24th Season
We're about halfway through the season so people are beginning to whisper about what next season might bring. I actually haven't heard alot so far, except that there will be one large attraction, and then an "amenity." I'm not sure what they meant by that.
Batman is always a great way to start off the day.
There was a good crowd at the park today!
The Undertaker crew was moving trains through the station very quickly, preventing the line from ever getting too long.
I think this train is ready to go!
Don't forget about Superman! -

Washout reminds me of the old "Starfish" ride that used to operate at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Starfish on top and all. -

Merry Christmas Eve! Today is the last day to enter a card in the Christmas Card Contest! The top three winners (from ALL forums) will be announced tomorrow!
Update
2002
It is with great regret that I relay some very sad news with you. Early this morning Michael May, one of the park's original founders passed away in his New York home. He was surrounded by his family. Today the park's flags flew at half-staff in rememberance of one of the men that was vital in this park's starting. Although I never met him, I know that he will always be remembered by the older locals here.
The park was pretty crowded. Most people were not aware of May's passing.
Rebellion was closed for a couple hours after the park opened but was operational by noon.
It had been a while since I had taken a ride on the bumper cars!
The sun begins to set...
I think the park is even more beautiful at night.
Rest in Peace, Michael May. Thank you for leaving such an incredible legacy.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Thanks to everyone who participated in the Christmas Card Contest! There were some incredible designs submitted. Here are three that I really thought stood out (in no particular order):
OKSIRYDOC at RCTLounge
Orex at Shyguy's World
Jeff at Shyguy's World

24th Season
Hello once again! Work has officially begun on next year's addition and although we have no idea what it will be, there seems to be a ton of land involved:
There's a very large plot of cleared land behind Backlot Commissar and the arcade.
Other than that, there hasn't been alot of development anywhere else.
I wonder if they could be expanding the Gotham area once again...
I was hoping they would expand Bugs Bunny National Park and connect that area with the Gotham Backlot. I guess that will happen some other time.
Goodbye for now!

24th Season
Next season's announcement will take place tomorrow! This has been a huge year for the park, with the addition of Bugs Bunny National Park. It really feels like a complete amusement park experience.
For the first time since May, the temperature dipped below 60 degrees!
Undertaker's lighting is beautiful at night.
Batman... not as much. But I prefer to ride its twisted layout in the dark.
I'll see you next season! The big announcement is tomorrow!

Announcement
CHARLESTON - New this year at Six Flags South Carolina is SKYCOASTER, a unique flying thrill ride contraption which will allow riders to plunge nearly 200 feet. Three riders are strapped in face towards the ground before being pulled up to the ride's highest point. After a short pause, it's all downhill from there. The ride acts as a giant swing with the strapped-in riders swaying back and forth until safely stopping back at the loading dock. This ride is not for those afraid of heights!
The ride will cost an extra fee.
Also new at the park this year is Picnic Grove. Six Flags South Carolina expands their group-handling capabilities with seven large picnic pavillions which will be able to handle more large groups than ever before.
2003 Season Passes are on sale now and can be purchased at SixFlags.com/SouthCarolina -

25th Season
Hello again! The park is now open for its 25th (operating) season!
It hasn't been widely publicized that this is the park's 25th operating season because of the four years it was closed from Hugo and the fact that Six Flags has really only been operating the park since '94. But all the cups, park maps, etc. do feature the above logo.
That must be Skycoaster!
This whole new little alcove is home to both Skycoaster and the Picnic Grove (not pictured).
The area is easy to miss!
The steam is coming from the train, not Undertaker.
Bugs Bunny National Park id doing well, although there's still no path connection to the Gotham City Backlot.
These midway games will robb you of all your money!

sky coaster looks legit. and good job making it realistic with a very small access point (typical six flags park layout)

25th Season
Skycoaster seems to be a hit, with those who are brave enough to ride it. I keep telling myself that I'll conquer the attraction next time I go to the park, but I always manage to keep myself from going near the ride. Something about falling like that gives me the chills! But hopefully I'll get the courage by the end of the season. (The $25 charge is scary, too!)
I love seeing Superman from Bugs Bunny National Park.
Picnic Grove
The line for Skycoaster was about 30 minutes long when I went over in that direction.
At one point today both Batman and V2 were down. Although they both reopened within about an hour. No word on why either rides closed.
I'll tackle you someday!

25th Season
I got the chance to run by the park late this afternoon. My summer job is preventing me from going to the park as often as I was used to, but I still plan on bringing you guys frequent updates!
V2 had a lengthy line everytime I've been to the park this season. The new ride crew must be slow in learning the ropes!
On the other hand, Undertaker's line was abnormally short this afternoon. Hey, more rides for me!
Moving on...
Batman was once the biggest steel coaster at the park... what's happened?
Thanks for reading.
Signing off,
Tommy
