Between this and SFC, I feel as if SFSF will be a flop from being so much worse than these at getting that SF feel. This is incredible CD5! It makes me wanna pick up my RCT3 disc to play again.

    21st Season

We're in the dog days of summer and I've been told that track shipments have been arriving in Charleston nearly every day. These containers are being held in an off-site warehouse as crews begin to prep the ground for this supposed new coaster. We haven't been told anything more than that, but I'll be sure to keep you updated.

    Everybody wants to ride rebellion!

I've even seen some younger kids challenging the ride.

It is with regret that I inform you that I will no longer be covering Six Flags South Carolina. Yesterday I was informed that the paper I write for was being downsized, and my "Everything Charleston" column will not be a part of the new streamlined edition. Luckily, however, I have been offered a columnist position at a paper in Dallas. I will be flying there next week with the family to house hunt.

This is an unfortunate situation - I have become so attached to the park over the past six years. I hate that I am leaving the park at such a great time in its life. I have enjoyed seeing the park return from the dead. It's come incredibly far since 1990. Nearly a decade later, it's a thriving, vibrant amusement park that all can enjoy. I hope it stays that way.

I would like to thank Joseph Reynolds and the entire team for being so gracious to me during my time here. Without their hospitality, I wouldn't have been able to write nearly as much about the park as I did.

But before I depart for Dallas (I hear there is a Six Flags there as well!), I present my final update from the park:

    Posted Image
I hope the park continues to add fun rides such as Rebellion!

    Posted Image
I hope Vulture is still here when I return! And I hope this rumored new coaster is the best at the park!

    Posted Image
I don't want the park to change at all, really. But I know it will.

    Posted Image
I hope they eventually do something with the old Swan Boats station!

Goodbye Charleston Gardens. Goodbye Six Flags. It's been a great time.

    Your friend,

I'm getting a little behind on the park due to school and other activities. I'm taking the rest of September and October to bulk up a little on SFSC. The park will return on November 1st, 2010 for the new millennium at SFSC. I'll see you then!

    Hey RCT3 brother.

Firstly let me say that I love this park. Its great to see you having so much fun building and then admiring your work, I think that's what RCT3 really excels at.

Secondly I'd like to ask where you are downloading your custom objects from? I've seen a few really nice pieces, but specifically the supports for the bridge in that last batch of screen shots. Also, some of your pathing is brilliant, I think you must be using custom paths or fences or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if you've already answered any of the above, I was skipping through quite quickly at work.

    Thanks

    Dixi <3

    Announcement

Six Flags South Carolina reaches new heights with Superman: Ride of Steel

    Posted Image

Six Flags South Carolina has officially unveiled plans to construct a 20-story-tall, ultra-fast, steel mega-coaster to open in May of 2000. The addition of SUPERMAN: RIDE OF STEEL™, already under construction, brings the park’s awesome roller coaster line-up to an impressive six. Riders on SUPERMAN: RIDE OF STEEL will embark on an incredibly steep climb, high into the air, before speeding down a dizzying 70 degree, high-speed drop over more than one mile of sleek steel track. At 210 feet tall, SUPERMAN-RIDE OF STEEL will be the park’s tallest and fastest attraction.

Six Flags, one of the strongest brands in the world, is known for dazzling thrills and cutting edge roller coaster excitement. "The new ultra-fast coaster at Six Flags South Carolina makes a bold statement about the commitment of Six Flags to continue to build the greatest and grandest thrill rides in the world. Six Flags is the industry leader in thrill rides and SUPERMAN-RIDE OF STEEL is the latest addition that is sure to get rave reviews by thrill seekers everywhere," states Kieran Burke, CEO of Premier Parks, the company that owns Six Flags.

"As we looked toward our second year of operation as a Six Flags theme park, we knew that it would be essential to add another world-class roller coaster to our thrill ride roster," comments Joseph Reynolds, general manager. "With its lightning speed and steep first drop, SUPERMAN: RIDE OF STEEL will give Six Flags South Carolina guests an experience unmatched by any other coaster in the region."

Based on the popular DC COMICS superhero, SUPERMAN: RIDE OF STEEL™ will give riders a bird’s-eye view of the park before plunging almost 200 feet at speeds of greater than 70 mph. The tremendous first drop offers close to 10 seconds of weightlessness leading to a total ride time of more than 3 minutes. "If you enjoy traveling at incredible speeds, or faster than a speeding bullet™, as I do, don’t miss riding SUPERMAN:RIDE OF STEEL™," exclaims noted roller coaster historian and North American editor of Park World magazine, Paul Ruben.

Six Flags Theme Parks is part of Premier Parks Inc., the world’s largest regional theme park company with a total of 35 parks in the United States, Europe and Latin America. Six Flags parks serve 17 of the 25 largest metropolitan areas in the United States. The parks annually host more than 45 million guests worldwide.
