That lot is tiny, Im baffled as to what could possibly fit in there.

I bet it's going to be a flat and in the 2000's he'll start adding a bunch of coasters.
  • JDP%s's Photo
A Vekoma Invertigo will be a nice addition to this park. Could fit right in that area and six flags america installed theirs in 99'.

I just it might be an intamin pipeline coaster, or at least an arrow, I mean, that ride is a new ride in rct3, a rarely used ride, a prototype, etc. It would make a very good addition to the park.

So many good guesses! Some are more right than others, though.

    1997
    19th Season

Believe it or not, we've come to the end of the 1997 season. Time flies when you're having run, right? Today is Sunday - I would hope that the announcement would take place tomorrow... Who knows? I've heard that pieces of the new ride have already begun arriving, but Six Flags is keeping them out of the public eye. Hmm...

    Posted Image
I wonder if the new ride will top Batman in height.

    Posted Image
Hopefully it will be more intense than Vulture.

    Posted Image
We do know it's a prototype, so it will be like nothing we've ever seen before.

    Posted Image
Chaos was open all day today!

    Posted Image
I realized a show hasn't been seen here all season. I hope they put it to better use next season.

    Posted Image
All the restaurants started to close - I realized I didn't have much time.

    Posted Image
I'm tried to squeeze in as many rides as I could before the gates closed for the season.

    See you soon!

Ooh! A new update and pieces have arrived.

    It could be -

    Flat rides
    Intamin Mega
    Vekoma Invertigo
    Intamin or Arrow Pipeline
    A B&M Floorless
    A B&M DIve Machine

    BEST. IDEA. EVER.

    1998
    20th Season

This sounds like an incredible ride!

CHARLESTON - Prepare to fly... feet first in 1998 as Six Flags South Carolina debuts Undertaker, the world's first floorless roller coaster.

Riders will begin their adventure by boarding 4-abreast carriages... with nothing below them but track. Riders will climb to a staggering height of 120 feet before making a turn into a plunge towards the earth below. Riders will speed through various twists and turns, including four mind-bending inversions. The coaster will also utilize the park's hillside terrain.

Undertaker will sport an orange and teal color scheme, quickly grabbing onlookers' attention. The ride will take the place of the former Viper rollercoaster, which closed last year to make way for the new coaster. The ride will be manufactured by Bolliger and Mabillard, the makers of Batman: The Ride at Six Flags South Carolina.

"Undertaker will take the top spots of coaster enthusiasts' favorites list," said park president Joseph Reynolds. "It's like no other coaster on the planet."

Undertaker joins other thrill rides such as Batman: The Ride, Vulture, and Derecho at Six Flags South Carolina for its 20th season of operation.

Interesting layout! I sorta lyk the cutbacks, and this is different from what you would expect from six flags (repetitive multiloopers) but I like it! Good addition CD5!

Horrible choice of music in that video.

I don't like this. I don't really understand the whole overbank, loop, overbank, straight section, turn, turn, MCBR. For a park that is striving to be realistic, this isnt.

And if this was to be built after the first floorless coaster, the issue wouldnt be as big, however because this is meant to be the World's First Floorless coaster, it seems a bit of a crappy layout to showcase a brand-new riding style.
  • BelgianGuy%s's Photo
Instead of the cutback a cobra wouldn't look to bad into an immelman then in that loop en then the overturn...

I completely disagree and really like the layout. It would certainly be a good layout to ride and be a nice change to all the bloody cookie cutter layouts out there. If theres one thing B&M are rubbish at it has been original layouts with their loopers.

IMO realism in parks shouldnt focus 100% on cloneing everything u see in real life. Sure this style of layout hasn't been done but that doesn't make it unrealistic... it COULD be done so in my opinion its realism with a little imagination. which makes it 100x better than someone just building Loop, Dive Loop, Zero-G, Cobra Roll, Brakes, etc.... been there done that got the t-shirt. :p

Ok its not perfect, the straight section out of the 2nd overbank could do with being a little bunny hop into the turn left but otherwise i like it. Reminds me a bit of the beginning of Dark Knight in terms of compact size.

Oh yeah totally. And had this been a coaster built for say 2003 or later seasons then I wouldnt have a problem, hell even if it was 2000 there wouldn't be a problem.

It's the fact that this is meant to be B&M's FIRST floorless coaster. In my eyes, a new train type and riding experience would come with a layout that shows it off and is big (like Medusa). This, in my opinion is too small to be the 'flagship' coaster.

Park's wont look at this layout and think, oh thats impressive, I want one of those, whereas something like Medusa, has that effect.

Again, this is all my opinion and just a suggestion, but I would go with something bigger if it's meant to be the first of it's kind
  • inVersed%s's Photo
I actually appreciate this coaster because it shows the floorless coaster as almost a prototype. I think it's perfect for the first ever Floorless coaster. When you looks at B&M's first, none of them except Medusa, were very grandiose, large coasters. Lets look at their 'first' for example-

First Inverted- BTR (nothing big here at all like Raptor, Alpengeist, or Montu)
First Stand-Up- Iron Wolf (again a very small compact ride and nothing sprawling like Mantis, Riddlers Revenge, or Chang)
First Dive Machine- Oblivion (again single drop, nothing fancy like Sheikra or Griffon)
First Flyer- Air (nothing special in terms of size)

Even B&M's first mega coasters Apollo's Chariot & Raging Bull are significantly smaller than their newer mega coasters.

    ...You get the idea.

I will say I am not a big fan of some of some of the transitions on this coaster, and I am still waiting for a coaster boom at this park with a few multi-coaster years.

I will also say that it took me a moment to realize that last screen was not real.
  • Jaguar%s's Photo
Aww, I wish the ride would be a little more interesting than a B&M if you know what I mean.

The music was a selection from 1997/1998 time period.

Think of B&M's first hypercoaster, Raging Bull. Does it look ANYTHING like B&M's other hypercoasters?

I designed several different possible layouts, but the ones that were the "cookie-cutter" B&M layouts were too big. And on top of that they were boring. This park will have its share of clones in the future - I wanted to give it something unique.
