Ask the Experts / Parkdat anyone?

I've been working on a park lately and i forgot to put in some scenery from the scenario editor that i now need. I know you need Parkdat to do this and I was wondering if anyone can post a download to this since the only link to download this is rctrevealations.com and they recently shut down. Can anyone help me?

cause the download is down and I think parkitect wants his hard work to be used I uploaded it here. if HE has any problem with it, he can contact me (levis[at]rct-guide[dot]nl) maybe he can asnwer some questions I have for him than also.

thanks for helping destroy the community cause in this way utilities get lost etc.
the rctGUIeditor v1.3 is lost in this way already and some older trainers are lost by these stupid rules also.
can you give me the email adres of ja227 or who I need to ask to upload it according to your stupid rules.

Talking about TOS, ever bothered to read the TOS of RCT, especially the part about reverse engineering?
As much as I like the effort people have put into developing trainers and tools for RCT it is ridiculous how some people act up about the community using them.

where are the tos? who has come up with them? and how official and valid are they? i believe they are not valid and could not be used seriously.

riven, what is your motivation? to make these tools a proprietary asset of a website you are trying to promote?

i disagree with that attitude and find it selfish. your motivation should be to make people play the game more, and play it more passionately.

agreed,holding tools related to a game that were long since created in order to get people to view your site is the wrong way to go about things imo.Btw i just checked the RCTRevalutions site and 'You can find alot of the stuff contained here over at Rct Town' why are you uploading files to yet another failed RCT site?

cause they hope it make the site active again.
probally they are using the same technique as on revalutions where you first need to register and post before you can download.
that insures you get posts.

Why don't you let the creator of the software fight his own battles. If ja227 doesn't care enough to log in here and tell off Levis about software HE made, that is HIS property, or take legal action, then he obviously doesn't care about people distributing his utility. He doesn't need you to do it for him. You remind me of the greedy music industry executives & the RIAA.

I'd really love to see you go through the legal action to try and get a site in the Netherlands taken down. Good luck.

well if he takes it down i move it to my own server, then he can only try to block the domain name, if he tries that i move to a domain name from my uni, so he can't do me nothin.

The thing is....there's no battle to be fought here. Anyone in their right mind realizes that ja227/Parkitect created these tools for anyone and everyone in the community to use. Which was more than obvious in the older, original zip files that included a read me that stated that anyone was free to redistribute them as long as he was given credit for their creation. I'm quite sure that, by agreeing to let a certain site 'host' his utilities for download, the intention was never to provide a specific individual the 'power' to redistribute them as he sees fit. I also would think that any permissions given to a specific site to host the utilities would not carry over to the individual that runs/ran the site once that particular site closes it's proverbial doors.

C'mon Mike, stop trying to play God with someone else's properties. I could almost see a point in all this had you, yourself, been the one to create these and had never intended them to be used by the community. Almost. Holding anything that was intended to benefit the entire community 'hostage' to try to get people to register at a site just because you think you can is childish and completely ridiculous. I also would think that had you included "By allowing me/us/the site to host your objects, you realize that I, at my sole discretion, can at any time deny anyone the ability to download/possess your creations from this moment on" that you would have had ZERO permissions granted.

I don't say much but let me start with wolfly. Wolfly and I worked out the flag thing so that is old news.

NOW on to mike. Mike I know you personally and know you can be an a$$ but now you have gone to far. I know I don't play rct much but you are breaking rule number 1 for people making things. If someone says in the read me they don't care who gives it out then the person giving it out can't horde it. Also I could be wrong here but if RR is no more then the TOS is no more. Mike correct me if I am wrong but when a site dies (goes away) so do the rules. Thats like me saying hey I own Viking16studios and all the rules I had back then are still good. No doesn't work that way. Once RR closed the rules for that site go 2. BUT all that doesn't matter. The read me is what counts and the read me clearly says anyone can use and upload the file period.

This is why RCT3 is having alot of problems. Due to this reason. People in RCT3 want their objects to be given out freely. Heck people make this stuff to help people. YOu can't host something that you didn't make. And then say ohh I OWN IT NOW. Just ignore the read me file that comes with it. That read me file is the wishes of owner of the program. You have to follow the rules.

Like Linux (how ever you spell it) you can't charge for it wait even better these fall under a law. Ohh whats it called. Forget the name but it says if the person quotes that law or wants to use it you can not sell it or restrict access to it.

See in RCT3 this is the major problem thanks to sites that make you sign up and do what mikes site did. They saw this in RCT2 and said no to RCT 3. Well thanks to this it's not easy to find objects.

RCT objects are made for people like me and you. Not to be horded by one site to say who can and can't have them. I mean yes there are assholes in this world but so what. Thats life. But it is not fare for people to say because you are a bad person you can't have this object. And that is what Mike was doing. Sorry mike but it's the truth.

as magnus pointed out, the permissions thing is void... the fact that you got some permission (I never understood your affiliation with ja227 nor do I care to) means you can make nothing in the way of threats because it's an illegal program to begin with

so as you bluntly put it, if you want to be the sole distributer of an illegal program I'll have your site taken down....


.... sarcasm aside I now have to echo what phil has asked. What is your motivation? take a look at youself and ask yourself that simple question. You might finally come to realise you are being selfish and foolish and have been for quite some time. To be honest it's always quite funny watching your antics but hear this now....building a community based on you hording what should be freely distributed software for a fucking roller coaster simulation game is not any way to build a website. This is why I never signed up at Revaluations and why I'll never be a part of any community affiliated with you. I urge everyone to adopt this attitude as well. So whatever actions you think you can take or what you feel you need to do with these utilities... just stop it. Really.... stop thinking you have any leg to stand on. Unless ja227 died and left these things to you to do what you like just chill out.
