so for a quick summary:
- make less rounds (also resulting in longer deadlines)
- allow more than two people to work on one map
- do not exceed a 50x50 map size (not even for play-offs, finals?) -

I disagree with the first half of the first statement, concerning less rounds, but I agree with the longer deadlines, not a whole lot longer but still loner.
I agree with the second one
I like the idea for not changing the size for playoffs and the finals too, this prevents a disappointing finish. ou wouldn't want the season to go perfectly well but then not have completed final entries. -

sounds good. (y) -

For the Team (H2H Series, ParkWars) how do I enter a team?
If the competition is for teams have players who can not find staff and therefore can not play.
I want to participate in all competitions!
I love Roller Coaster Tycoon, I love New Element! -

I don't think having fewer rounds should result in longer deadlines. Personally, I think that the longer a contest goes on, the less interest there is in it. If you're having 50x50 maps, then have a round every week. Maybe a two week period with no deadlines to start with, so everyone can get working, and then one park due every week. People should be able to co-ordinate themselves so that their park is finished for their respective due date.
I think a short, sharp, H2H would be a lot of fun. -

^very true, long deadlines could work contra-productive..

I still feel that the amount of rounds is a major thing to be considered but imo 5 is too few and 10 is too many. somewhere in the 6-8 range is good
I like the idea of a bit of a pre-season in the form of a 2 week period to kick things off. And a mid-season break is also something to be considered. -

what you might want to consider is the same ammount of round but less maches in a week, so instead of a park from every team every week you could make a scheme where one team has a rest every week for example.
With the week I mean rounds.
I think a maximum of 60*60 is right but allow smaller parks also.
maybe you can say max 50*50 in the main season and max 60*60 in the play offs and finals. -

I voted individual... I just can't 'commit' to a team thing at the mo, I've got too much other non-RCT2 stuff on the go; and when I do play RCT2, I need to go at my own pace. If I had loads of free time, I could do a team thing, but as it stands, I'd only let my team down by taking part. With individual at least I only let myself down if something doesn't get finished... -

^I thought the same for myself at first. However, with all of the group projects I've been doing lately, i've realized that working with other people is a great experience, which is why I voted for team competition. I just hope weekends will consist of the bulk of the contest cuz I can only build then. -

A 50x50 limit sounds good for the season, but I think it could got up to 60x60 for the playoffs and finals as that way more can go into them. More then 2 builders is a neat idea id like to see tried. A smaller season would be alright I guess, maybe remove the divisions and just take the top teams into the playoffs.
Also I think we should start the sign-up soon. That takes about a week in which time we can plan. Also after we see how many people sign-up then we can decide on how many teams to have. -

a bunch of good ideas so far. this is very helpful.
i like the idea of a pre-season and mid-season break, to give some extra time and not exhaust the teams too much. also letting people build on weekends is a good thing. deadlines could therefore be on mondays.
after the sign-ups, there will be some time to pick captains. then, there will be an entry draft where all captains have to show up. preferably held in the ne chat again.
eyeamthu1, a very wise decision. i can totally understand where you're coming from.
x_fusion, don't worry, you won't miss the sign-ups when they are posted. -

Intamin, it's not really that hard to have a LL and a RCT2 list....Edited by The Beta Factor, 26 February 2009 - 02:42 PM.

I think it's much more interesting to see what you can fit in a small map to impress with, anyhow, and the larger the map is, the more it becomes about 'finishing' the map. Which, of course, is quite uninteresting contest-wise.
I really like the idea of multiple team mates and more solo action. In other words: less rules. I say let's get some captains, pick some teams, and let the teams decide how it goes. Maybe have each player have to go once atleast (even though, since people drop out etc. that would also not be desirable.. people who want to play should play though..)
I think if we keep the map size small enough, we can still have a lot of rounds. It depends fully on the amount of people though. If there are enough people, we can have more rounds right? Still the same amount of work per person. -
