I/m attempting to make my next park peepable. Last night, geewhzz gave me a bunch of tips, including the use of path objects. Does anyone have any good tips on making a detailed, peepable park?
Oh BTW, this will be the Six Flags park I build.
EDIT: Yes! I can make topics again. Expect to see one for SFSF this weekend.Edited by robbie92, 23 January 2009 - 12:05 AM.

Using anything other than single-wide pathing will at some point cause your peeps to get lost, and you know, do that stupid thing where about a billion of them all end up walking around in a loop around Popcorn Stall 3 or something.
Annoyingly, single-wide pathing is unrealistic; you do need larger areas of paving for your park to look good.
Solution? Initially, build everything out of scenery blocks. So if you want a larger area of paving, just build it out of the blocks. THEN, to make it peepable, overlay single-tile invisible paving OVER the scenery blocks. The peeps then appear to be walking on the large areas of paving (the scenery blocks) when in actual fact they're walking on single-tile invisible paths. You get the illusion that your park is made up of double or triple wide paths, when in actual fact is is all single-tile... which makes the park very peep-friendly.
It's obviously a bit of a hassle - nowhere near as easy as using normal double/triple-wide paving - but in the long run, it will make your park functionable with peeps. -

I've never had problems with peeps going in circles.
You have to keep all paths connected to another path - no dead ends!
And even if there are some peeps going in circles, you could build some
underground-paths, leading from the "problem" area to whereever you
want to or the peeps want to go. -

the biggest problem peeps get into is when a path seemingly leads to the exit, or somewhere else, but then they actually have to go 'back', retrace their steps in their minds, in order to get there. Especially the exit, peeps change their minds on what coaster they want to ride, but when they really want to go home they just get pissed and want to go home already.
Peeps can handle wider paths just fine, no problem whatsoever. Single paths can look great, too. In theory, the first rule is something to go by. Then, you just have to try it out some, and fix the problem spots where guests get lost. (by for instance underground paths, other pathing structure, etc.) My peepable park (coming soon) gets over 2000 guests in, it does get awards for 'most confusing park layout' (and it looks really confusing) but they maintain happy for a really long while.
Good excitement ratings on coasters help, some flat rides, lots of stalls, enough benches, litter bins and lights, water coasters with high excitement ratings. Enough staff to keep out vandals, clean up potential puke and litter (benches and first aid posts help here) and enough toilets (guests really don't like having to go pee-pee and no where to go, obviously). Mechanics for inspections and ride break downs to keep the rides functioning. Entertainers at long queues (they serve no purpose but aestetics anywhere else) to keep waiting lines endurable, queue tv's help solve long waiting times getting to the guests as well.
For a lot of tips put into practice, watch out for my park that will be released in the somewhat near future. Of course, since I made it, it's quite the chaos and by no definition a park made 'just to be peepable' but I implore a lot of tricks in details to make things work out with peeps.
Scenery helps as well, but that seemed given. Guests enjoy scenery they can look at, and coasters near the paths that they can look at.
I could probably tell you a lot more, this should definitely get you started. -

Actually, instead of using path blocks, you could use the full tile paths and divide them with a fence so you make individual trails for the peeps to follow, then delete the fences after the entire paved area is complete. Or you could just use the blocks.
As for smaller details, you could have open doors, build actual bathrooms and place an invisible bathroom inside (depends on how much detail you're actually going for), etc.etc. etc... -

good advice up above, I'd say one good park to look at besides front page releases would be Fatha's scenario park if you haven't seen it yet. If you want the file I can send it to you, just PM me.
good luck, I think peeps will work well with your style -

i never knew about entertainers in queues and tvs, does that really help them not like waiting a long time?
