What i love most about this park is seeing CP6 build with some more typical coaster types. In his solo parks he tries new things which is nice but it sure as hell is nice to see a simple (yet beautiful) B&M design from him

at the start of the que i dont like the red wooden deco blocks. i think the red is a bit to much but nevertheless i still like the screen.

^Karl, did you mistakenly take a roofie instead of your normal medication again? Please remain in your room until the effects wear off. We can't have you roaming the halls hugging everyone again. People were seriously frightened the last time this occurred.

And hell naw do we want to find you on the roof of our hotel, severely sunburnt, after roaming around New Element, meeting a legendary wrestler (Cena) and his pet ape (K0NG) and go through a whooole bunch of other shit thinking we're going to find you only to find a black Dot who sold you those roofies in the first place..

    Got it, Doug?.. er.. Dot?

    Project Status #71 - 1/22/11

NWA continues to move along as some of the gift shops are starting to take shape arounf various parts of the park. The nice thing now are areas of the park are now complete and am able to mark things off the list for to-do's. One area that is complete is in the back corner of the park that features the Boeing IMAX Theater and resort entrance to the park. As some of you may know, Boeing is a major employer here int he northwest and we are honoerd to have them as the title sponsor for the theater similar to that of the Boing IMAX theater at the Seattle Center.

In other news, the parks 7th coaster is taking a bit more time as Brian comes up with a layout that will work with the area however we are getting closer everyday.

I love how the grass is shaped at the right against the monorail building at the stairs

The building could use a more formal, extravagant sign rather than just two, off centered banners. I'm also now feeling the huge pine 'bush' to the left of the screen either, it doesn't even seem like a forest or anything, just one single mass of pine needles. It doesn't accent anything.
  • RCTNW%s's Photo
^ one of the things about Washington is they don't call it the Evergreen State for nothing. In the pacific northwest (especially north of Seattle) you will find very densely packed pine trees all over the place. Additionally, they only remove the trees that are needed for the actual construction site and leave the rest in place. In other words you will find these patches of trees throughout the NW and is not intended to be a forest. I know many will not understand this look I'm going for and I'm sure it will cost me from this being a spotlight however this is one thing I will not be changing. Sorry.

No worries, from a peep perspective, I totally understand. Mainly stating it as it defers when seen at a viewers perspective.

I do agree that the sinage is looking a bit plain and will look into that

    Thanks

nice though, although the coloring is a bit dull. I would imagine some more sleek modern things for an imax. right now it looks like a bass pro shop. will you make something sponsored by trojan condoms or something similair?

How was that relevant to the topic?

Yeah, Trojans are from SoCal...not Washington.

Actually, it looks like a pretty good example of PoMo architecture -- due to its scaling, the blend of plain, brick, and wood facing, and the tile/sheet metal roofing.

I'm not typically a fan of your work, James, as I find a lot of it very sterile looking, but I can actually picture myself in this scene. That IMAX is a fantastic piece of architecture.

Looking at this has got me in awe everytime there's a status report....
I actually am looking forward to seeing the complete aerial one day, just the fact that your progress seems to be stellar atm is just crazy, you just released a park that's spotlight worthy and you're almost done with a park that's probably going to top the previous one with another 5hotels and resort maps done and such this is just the pinacle of produvtivty and I applaud you for your determination.

I'm loving the last screen. But I hate those plain signs, I hope you change them. Maybe you could also add some more colour to the screen. However I think the foilage is perfect.
