The aerial looks nice James. The only thing I am not a fan of though is the entire shoreline being lined with "white sand." I think it would be a lot more realistic and aesthetically appealing (to me anyway) if you mixed in some dirt/clay banks along with the sandy beaches. Also, I'm glad to see so many styles working on the map, and I can't wait to see what they come up with. I know names are not your forte, but I really hope that Hyatt's Entertainment District is just a temporary name. -

Wow, talk about a clash of styles! I don't know how this can work tbh, they all have such different styles.. I don't think it would mesh well with each other, and then your own style is so much different too..CP6, robbie92, nin, Kumba and Cena
I can see you let cp6 do your coasters and collaborate with you, because you 2 kinda have the same style approach, but I'm not sure about the others.. We'll see I guess..

At this rate I actually see all these map being build,
I'd love to see what everybody comes up with for the entertainement district although I have to agree with SF in a certain way that all the players that will be involved in this have a very personal and specific style and I really hope they will mix because I can see this becoming a difficulty.
As always the arial is just sick and I hope to see another "park" coming up soon, If you need any guest builders for that I'm always up for a challenge... -

you need to put a big fuck off bridge somewhere, like in discovery bay
He already has a big fuck off bridge in it, only he doesn't show it seems ...Project Status #14 - 3/22/09

I disagree completely here, while we might can have different styles individually, when working together you can always adapt to the person building the area next to you. What do you mean with style approach? Planning etc? -

This got lost due to computer problems I think...
This was part of the american adventures park -

Oh wait, you are probably right ... Sorry to crush your dream Louis...
Atleast RCTNW can rebuild that, the Golden Gate was / is looking fabulous. -

Well, I don't see Robbie for example building in the same realistic style cp6 has.. If they build 2 areas next to each other you would always notice the difference.. While it could work if 2 parkmakers with different styles work together (just look at Belmont Shores for example) I think in this case it's just too much of a difference and adapting would be possible, but who do you guys adapt to then? I think you should always build in the style you're most comfortable with and what you're best at..He already has a big fuck off bridge in it, only he doesn't show it seems ...

But, I would like to be surprised, so go ahead and prove me wrong!

Casimir & Austin55 - Thanks
Dark_Horse - As each map is fully developed, the coastline in areas will be modified however for the main aerial as you see it today, the sandy shore was an easy way to get the maps finished and defined. And yes, HED is the working name. Notice you did not see any logos for that map yet. Thanks
Six Frags - Under normal circumstances, I would fully agree with you however I brought these folks in (and possible others in the future) because of the very different styles for this map and this map only. Not sure if you have been to City Walk at Universal Studios Hollywood however when I was there, I remember thinking that all the stores looked like they were designed by different designers. It was a mesh of different styles with each bringing it's own concept and level of details. For HED, I want the styles to be different however they all have something in common that I don't and that is they all do the little things very well. That said, one thing must tie it all together and that is where I come in as I will be doing all the path work for the main areas and all the stuff outside the HED. In addition, the plan in my head is that they would not have designated areas but rather different shops/attractions throughout the map. For example, there could be six shops right next to each other all built by a differnt builder. So in this setting, I feel the different styles actually helps the concept and will make it easier to build then to have one or two builders try and make each shop different for a map this size. All that said, "the proof will be in the pudding" as my mother always said
BelgianGuy - Soon, very soon! Glad you liked the aerial.
Liampie - Thanks as always
Cena / Louis! - I'm still planning on having a bridge, just not sure where. -

^That makes perfect sense indeed.. So actually you agree with me, but then again, it is meant to clash
I'm very curious to how that will turn out! Interesting concept.

HED sounds like an interestng concept. I'm looking forward to seeing some screens. By the way, do you still plan on doing an airport? This sounds like a challenging, yet if executed well, amazing map to see being built. One criticism I might add though is that I feel your main roads are too straight. I Know it is complicated in RCT but they just don't seem realistic to me, especially because I live in the UK Where the motorways are hardly EVER straight. One idea I think you should consider for a map is a shopping mall. Your speciality is large structures, so I think this will work well in the project. -

^ See, living in AMERICA, where we don't pave around things to preserve their beauty, we just maul through it carelessly, it makes PERFECT sense.
Like, straight as the eye can see.
and this map shows Interstate 85, the first interstate that came to mind (highlighted in red). When you think about it, this is pretty freaking straight, so its easy to believe there is that straight of a road along that length of land. And all the blue ones are a majority of South-Eastern America's interstates and main highways (PS: Sorry its a LITTLE big.)
So I assume this is in America, where us bad drivers can't drive any direction BUT straight.. and left turns, of course, if you drive a Nascar.Edited by Luketh, 01 June 2010 - 05:16 PM.

Except for you can't turn left in New Jersey. Bunch'a crazies.
RCTNW, I've been following this thread since day one and it's astounding. The fact that you even have the willpower to complete such a massive project is respectable, and the quality at which you do so is awesome. Keep it up! =) -

That overview is beautiful. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in RCT. -

The overview is fantastic, the collabo sounds interesting and looking forward to seeing a bridge of some sort working it's way into the massive map -

Back on topic: I am really intrigued to see how this HED map turns out. I always dreamed of creating a strong Citywalk like area in one of my park and I am sure you and the other builders can definitely do this justice.
