From which manufacture will the spinning-coaster be?
    Great work, I love it!
  • RCTNW%s's Photo
^ I'll defer that question to my coaster expert CP6 as I'm not sure. Sorry
  • GigaG%s's Photo

I've seen your coasters....no, you can't. That doesn't mean that someday you won't be able to but, for now.....no, you can't.

Me? I make some good layouts, just bad theming. Geewhzz sent me a reply email to Tyrant. Part of it was,

Sorry to tell you we cannot make this a "design" winner. i thought the pacing of your ride was very good and you have a great eye for coasters, but the amount of time spent on this isn't anywhere near compared to the standard around NE. I suggest taking a look around at some of the parks on our site to get an idea of what the standard for winning accolades is. If you need any advice feel free to email or pm the admins or post on the forums. good luck in the future with your rct works.

can we still release this on our website as an honorary mention? please let us know.

    geewhzz

He just thought the (true) fact that I whipped it up in a few minutes was bad. The bold says that he liked the layout.

    For the project

This is AWESOME! You make a 25 map project, I probably couldn't win the community over with anything, be it twice the size of this or half the size. And your Hyatt logo is better than Hyatt's!

^^RCTNW: The spinner, from what I've seen in game, seems really close to a Gerstlauer.
  • Cena%s's Photo

^ah okay thats what i thought it was.
i'm probably most excited for that one:]

I am more excited about the actual park maps ... Water Park, Studios Park + Backlot Tours and the Amusement park.
  • RCTNW%s's Photo
Same although I'm actually excited for some recent developments that will soon be released. I hope to have a big announcement late next weekend.

In other news, a few more maps are in place. The coast line still needs to have the sand added in areas but it's starting to take shape once again.

Wow, good to see you're not getting too frustrated by all this rebuilding.. I know how much of a hassle that can be..

You what I just thought would be really cool, if you have all maps connected to each like above but then zoomed in to the max, like how they do with NE releases.. Would be an awful lot of work, but maybe if you get a couple of guys who want to help with that it might be worthwhile and certainly mindblowing!

+it would take hours to download. A 256x256 aerial already fucks up my Firefox. A 1000x1000 would fuck up 1000²/256²=15 Firefoxes. :p
  • That Guy%s's Photo
Will that be the final perimeter then?
  • Cena%s's Photo
I can't wait for the new things to be released + the big announcement. Looking forward to it, the aerial is looking awesome!

Use Opera then, much better since it has a faster render engine + you can zoom in/out very easily. Atleast, that's how I do it.

@ Six Frags, I wish you a lot of luck but above patience to help James with that! (Or were you not offering any services?).

Good to see the maps getting back to what they were :)
  • RCTNW%s's Photo
SF - Once HOA is released, I can show a zoomed in version of this. I have a full aerial where each individual map is 600x300 which would make the main aerial 3000x1500 which at that level of zoom you can make out the road lines. Problem is it shows too much of HOA

That Guy - Yes it is (less the four maps that are missing)

    Louis! - Thanks! Me too!

As you can see, all the maps are in place however not all have been adjusted to final form yet. In short, those with a sandy shoreline are pretty much final. Just 5 maps to go and the recreating of the maps will be complete. If you look back at the original concept art, the coastline has changed significantly in some areas but I think for the better as it has allowed for some great spots for potential growth

you need to put a big fuck off bridge somewhere, like in discovery bay :p
  • Six Frags%s's Photo
Ah man, this looks so realistic, I just can't wait! Good job recreating the lost maps this fast!

Looks like it comes directly out of Sim City (which I think I already said before, but yeah)

    Project Status #50 - 5/31/10

Today we are happy to announce what should be a very exciting month of June as we bring you the first of four significant weekly updates

We start with this weeks update as the main aerial has been completely rebuilt! The project has taken some significant changes from the early concept drawings however, I feel the revised layout allows for some unique opportunities for resort and theme park designs. You will also notice the placement of the roads along with the complete shoreline.

Now for the big news for this update. Although some of you already know about the new map in the lower corner, we are now ready to announce the details of the newest map, Hyatt's Entertainment District! After looking over the aerial, it was clear that a Downtown Disney / Citywalk inspired map was needed however I had no real motivation to start the construction. It was during the construction phase of HPTR that Liampie suggested the concept which once again stared the thought process about the map. After looking into it further, it was clear that my style alone would not due it justice thus the decision to turn this into a collabo became a reality. I'm happy to announce that with the with the help of CP6, robbie92, nin, Kumba and Cena that Hyatt's Entertainment District will soon be included into Project Aries! I'm really looking forward to working with these folks on this map and I thank them all for contributing.

Next week we will announce the next map that is currently in project.
