    burj dubai?

The Burj Khalifa would be too high to build in RCT because you can't build that high in RCT (the limit is 255 clearences, normal coaster track is 3 / 4 clearences) and it would be really hard to recreate the shape of the tower itself too, it would be cool though :)

James, I am getting more respect for your creations in RCT every day I realise how hard it is too finish something at all, let alone be it 200x200 maps where you do many of them .... Respect.

    Thanks guys for the encouragement.

As for the next resort, I guess I can show you the insperation.
    Marina Bay Sands Singapore.

Please keep in mind that it will not be a replica of the resort though
  • Splitvision%s's Photo
That is exactly what I want to see you attempt to build, greener and more modern architecture. I'm very excited to see how this turns out. And yeah that is a killer overview!

Progress on the park this past week was somewhat limited due to several reasons however that shouldn't stop for a small update. :mantis: Here is Hammerhead which is located within the Shark Experience area of the park.

In other news, HOA will be out of my hands for the next week or two so I think I will start on the next resort map which should be a blast to create. Look for the planning and construction topic shortly.

Any reason why the back supports have 2 different footers on each side?

Other than that, I really like that disko. :)
  • RMM%s's Photo
    it's almost 'too' clean.
  • inVersed%s's Photo
Sure seems weird to see peeps in your parks, RCTNW. Looks good though
  • Steve%s's Photo
New screenshot is looking terrific, James, but I really can't wait to see how you tackle that new resort map.
  • RCTNW%s's Photo
Luketh - I forgot to change those back to the normal footers. Thanks for catching it

RMM - I agree and I hop to fix that a bit when I go back for detail work.

inVersed - I'mk glad this is near the front of the park as it did not take long for them to get there for the screenshot. I don't build with them in the park. Thats why there is a mad dash to Magalodon in the SS. Glad you liked it though

Steve - I started working on the other map last night laying out the footprint and doing some test items to make sure I have my limits worked out. I sitll need to work out a couple more items then I'll be ready to move to full scale production along with the construction topic. Glad you like it.

Nice disk-o coaster there James.. I like the peeps too, but it looks like they are getting stuck in that line on the bottom right..
How are doing with battling the limits?

I've got around 40K left so I'm doing well I think based on what I have left. I should be good to go and still have more details that I', leaving out right now. As for the peep jam, this is actualy just a mad dash of peeps heading the the floorless coaster entrance which is just to the right.

    Thanks

I really hope you'll be able to finish this the way you intended it to be so we can really get the feel you aimed for, good luck on finishing and I'm really looking forward to the resort and the other attraction based parks like the studios and american adventures

As most of you know, work the past week or two has been focused on the newest resort map and as I have stated in the topic, I'm really happy about the look and feel as well as the progress thus far. As for HOA, it's still in the hands of our outstanding technical staff as they work on one of the key attractions.

As for this weeks update, as some of you may know, last month I lost all the 25 aerials for the 25 maps that make up Project Aries. In an effort to rebuild the images, I have completed all the maps that I currently have either released or will soon release. Over the next few weeks, I will continue to add to the main aerial. Below is the current version

I really am in awe of how wonderful and clean this is looking. It almost looks as if some of these are all one map since the edges are so perfect. Keep up the astounding work, NW.
  • Steve%s's Photo
Wow, it looks effing real with the overviews... crazy.

I think for your next hotel you should try something like the Polynesian Resort at Disney World. You have always built these tall, grandiose resorts but never did something like having a few different buildings for one hotel. You know what I mean?

  • Splitvision%s's Photo
    ^That'd be interesting to see!
  • Themeparkmaster%s's Photo
The overviews together like that really do look amazing! I would be really interested to see your take on a style of resort like the Polynesian as well.
  • Louis!%s's Photo
    This is just amazing.

You have to be the only member I'd love to be able to build like. Your work is outstanding.
  • Marlin%s's Photo
I agree with Louis!... There are many styles that I really like and become inspired by, but your style really stands out and continues to improve on a much larger scale than others (my opinion).

Your hotel/resort building and landscaping skills are incredible!!!

I also like steve's idea about that style of resort. I've always enjoyed that type of layout too.
