^ not right now. This whole thing has really zapped my motivation as it's furstrating that I'm not able to fix it myself and I hate bugging others to try and fix it. -

"Several engineers from Intamin have been working hard getting the new hyper coaster for Hyatt's Ocean Adventures park up and operational as soon as possible. While there were a few issues in the initial startup of the ride, it's expected to run smoothly from here. This coaster is expected to be the signature ride at the park. Early reviews have been very positive!" -

The final coaster is in place and functioning! Thanks to Leo, Cena and CP6 for working on it. CP6 ended up going to plan B based on Leo's work and the problems plan A was causing with the block breaks. Now the fun part is supporting this beast. The hardest part about this one will be the banked turn over the station. CP6 seems to love doing this to me, only this time, I can't move it or the station.
Cena - thanks for trying to get it working. I'll send you the file so you can see what plan B was that we went with.
Leo - Let me know when you want it back to finish the area your working on. I will be out of town this weekend so if you want it back, let me know.
CP6 - Thanks for the layout as always.
Thanks -

Can we see a screen or a teaser of this coaster because I'm really looking forward to this coaster... -

^ It's still in it's raw form and I don't like showing SS's of a coaster when the SS would not be complete. Besides, the area it sits in has not been developed. However once I have something to show, I'll get it posted.
Thanks -

Well, yesterday was a very bad day for me.
As some of you may know, I have been running Win7 in the Beta form for the past several months. Yesterday as the last day you can use the OS without it rebooting every 2 hours and since I did not have the cash to get a new copy of Win7, I started to work on reloading XP.
Having done this several times I had no conerns about the process and proceeded to back up all my files/music/photos to my external HD. Once that was finished, I proceeded to load XP and as part of the process, I wanted to move some partitions around to free up some space. Stupid me, I did not unplug my external HD and I deleted THAT partition in error. After spending the next couple hours pounding my keyboard, I was able to locate all my files except a my RCT stuff it was on a seperate partition that was formatted over.
Bad News - Lost all RCT related items
Good news - I still had the recent email from CP6 with the latest version of HOA so it's not lost (only a couple of hours of work was performed on a newer version)
Bad News - All my landscape files that I used for the massive image are gone which include the CC map. Not a big deal since not mush was done on it anyways however lsong the the other files is what really hurts.
The problem I'm having now is I can't seem to get XP to load. It keeps coming up with an error during the install and ran out of time to look into it further. Until I get this fixed, I'll be on hold.
Moral of this story - whenever you are messing with formatting and partitions, take your time and unplug any excternal Hard Drive!!!!!!

That's indeed very bad news.
I was thinking about HOA today, I'm glad you still have that one.
What maps are lost exactly? -
RCTNW Offline
^ there were three maps that I had been working on. HOA, HAA (which I was going to re-do anyways) and the landscape file for the Convention Center. All of the other non-completed maps were just coastline and trees maps to create the large 25 map Aerial.
The HAA and CC maps are not a big deal as I was not happy with either of those however this is really zapped my motivation for the project to be honest. Having to recreate those landscape files and redoing the aerials will take about 6-8 hours to recreate.
I'm just glad HOA was recovered. -

It always does.PS - February Sucked!
Sorry to hear about your troubles, James.
Good thing one file was saved at least, so not all is lost! I know you're the man to bring it back around. -

^ Thanks. It is what it is. I'm not so much conerned with getting back to RCT as I am trying to figure out why I can't install XP!
- The HD is good (was able to format and and re-install win7)
- Install disks (orignal and backup) are good as I was able to load it on a smaller HD (in the same PC)
- Both CD and DVD drives both work as I get the same issue from both drives
I have no idea why it would fail as I have duplicates of everything and all are failing. Maybe I'll have a fresh look at it tonight and will figure it out -

James, you still have HOA from CP6? Otherwise I still have a version. Oh, and as soon as you are done with redoing the landscape maps, send me a pm or talk with me on aim, I can give you online backup if you want .
Goodluck,

WAIT
you haven't yet put anything on the external harddrive?
If so nothing is lost probally, its only made writeable again but its still there.
use a program like PC inspector file recovery to see if you can recover the files on that hd. maybe that will save the rct2 files.
if you did put some things on the HD already you can still try it. maybe not everything is overwritten. -

Thanks guys. The RCT files I backup to the wrong place so those are indeed lost. I do have some really old stuff but newer stuff is gone.
Good news though, my PC is back up and running on XP now. I'm in the process of installing all my programs and should be back up and running with RCT shortly. -
Levis Offline
they dont have to be lost. you could try to use such a program. maybe you can find them back... -

^ I'll see what I can do. I have already formated that particular drive twice and no longer have it in my main PC as I will use it in another PC for the kids.
In other news, this weekend looks to be a great time to get back to building on HOA once again. I hope to have an update on the new coaster by Sunday.
Thanks again -

Project Status #43 - 3/10/10
Well after nearly 2 months of little to no updates, HOA is back on track. Again many thanks to CP6, Levis and Cena for all the help in working on the final coaster and getting it up and running which brings us to this update. Orca is the parks 6th and final major attraction to be placed in the park and the early reviews are very positive. This CP6 design is (bare with me on this one)..............(wait for it)........................(you know it's coming)........................... a whale of a coaster and is sure to be a guest favorite. Now the focus shifts to shops and flats as we get closer to opening day.
