I for one have reached a point that I actually dislike building coasters. It’s just too frustrating for me and at this point in time, I find it more satisfying to just build anything else than raw coaster layouts.

that's my reason, too. i want realistic and good layouts and i know i'm not capable of doing those.

21 replies before you've even posted a screen... you better get a move on RCTNW, there's a huge demand already!

I look forward to the first screens. I hope you'll make your buildings more detailled en varied than in Mariott. Good luck!

What different would an ocean park be from a water park?
  • JJ%s's Photo
    lol that is just funny.

An ocean park is like Sea World. A water park is like Wet n Wild.

Daisy - I noticed that also. We are waiting for a break in the weather so that we can take an aerial photo of the property. The forecast looks promising for this weekend so we should be able to get that posted Sunday!

JJ is correct. The ocean park will be similar in concept to MMW/Sea World

Looking great James. Did you base this off of Bay Lake in WDW? I think that just finally clicked with me cause I've been thinking the resort layout looks so familiar. Hahaha. Can't wait to see where this takes you, good luck dude!

    That's an interesting theorie..
It's like; Building for pleasure (avec coasters) vs. building for realism (non-coasters)
I think I'm applying them both, but I don't know if that's the most wise thing to do (because I think one suffers through the other, although once I achieve realism it gives me pleasure (I'm just not too sure about the other way around))

We know the park/screens/advertising will be top-notch because it's james! One of the best in this area of parkmaking ;)

I look forward to the first screens. I hope you'll make your buildings more detailled en varied than in Mariott. Good luck!

If there's one thing that could be improved upon I agree it's the architecture.. Then again, it's kind of your style and trademark, so I don't know if it's a necessarity..
As long as the parkitecture is rctnw-ish (if you know what I mean by that :p )

Steve – Yes it is although in concept only. I have never been to WDW (will be going in December though) however I know about the resort property. Thanks

SF – You can count on it. Thanks

It's quite weird that the Ocean Park has the smallest amount of water of all parks. ;)
If I were you, I would swap the Ocean- and Studiopark. Where the Studio's are now, you change the coastline a bit so the Ocean Park has more coast.
  • Cocoa%s's Photo
^True... I think you should swap the parking square 3 over and 4 down with ocean park

I forgot to ask, what are the orange dotted lines?
  • RCTNW%s's Photo
^ water taxi routes to connect the parking areas to the parks. The red lines represents the monorail system

    Update:

Well, the weather finally cleared and we were able to get one of our aircraft up and take a photo of the property. As you can see, there is plenty of coastline and landmass for expansion of the project as it moves along.

You will also notice that the initial plans have changed a bit. Partially based on feedback nut also to support the transportation needs and establish property boundries. As you can see, the airport and stadium are now outside of the main resort complex.

Again, most of these maps may never see major work completed other than monorail track and roadways, so please don't expect them to be finished any time soon

That said, now that the maps are in place, the real ground breaking will take place. Again, many thanks for all the support.

    Absolutely ridonkulous.

I think I'm most looking forward to seeing how the airport turns out.
  • Evil WME%s's Photo
So, 25 maps? Even if you're filling some with mostly water, it should be ridiculous. I'm guessing these maps won't be maximum size though, couldn't you figure out a way to do it in fours, with 256*256 maps? 'Four maps', one rct saved game? I mean, it would take forever just to look through! Although I do somehow think you'll finish, I doubt the interest it will bring in the end. I think a smaller version of this plan would be much more suited.
