So I'm working on an Intamin ZacSpin using the 4D coaster, and I realize that ZacSpins only have one car. But whenever I try to set the ride to have only one car per train (using 8cars), nothing happens.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. -

Try hitting the "8-cars per train" button first (it's located under the rides tab), and then try changing the train lengths. I know that works to get longer trains, so it might work in reverse. Otherwise, I'm not sure. -

Yeah, that works Xcoaster. I tried the same thing a couple of days ago. The problem is that it seems the train lengths might get reset when you exit the game and reload it, I'm not sure though. -

Yeh - sorry to be of no help, but I get the same problem. Hitting 8cars per train does work... but once you exit the game and reload it, the train lengths get reset. Although I think if you have the ride operating when you save and exit the game, they should stay the same size when you reload? -

Yeah, you need to keep the trains on the track. Either keep it testing, or don't reset it when it's closed. -

Isn't there also an option to have -2 cars per train or something? That's what I remember anyways, and the game shows me the error trapper. -

Thanks Xcoaster. I tested it and it works nicely. Then I kinda got carried away and made some more 1 car stuff... (Like a swing using a 1 Millennium Flyer car. )
Speaking of which, I have another question: My swing works great, and all, but I didn't want someone to see the track underneath the swing, so I set the track type to Crooked House mode. The swing went forward okay, but when it reached the bottom going backwards, it just fell off and exploded into a million pieces (like Clockwork's avatar). Why? (I had the ride set on powered launch mode, BTW.) -

It might be something to do with that the ride track and train lowers down a few units when you convert the track to Crooked House (it goes back up if you convert it back). Otherwise, maybe a track merging error. -

Use son of beast instead:
Open SoB, Enable Special Build Mode.
Build the track, sort all the car business out, test the ride, pause the game.
Sink scenery with SoB, End Special Build Mode.
Go back to RCT2 and unpause the game and you should have the train running on invisible track without any problems. -

Or if you've already built something that you want to make invisible, Enable Special Build Mode, change the base scenery height to the minimum, and go back in game and build full tile scenery only over what you want to be invisible/sunken (I usually use a full tile building block. But be extremely careful and save your game before attempting, because anything you put the scenery over when you're placing it, even if you don't build it, will be sunken.). Then sink scenery to base height, End Special Build Mode, and you're done.
This is also a useful trick if you only want to sink part of something (though that can cause problems). -

Thanks, Louis! It worked like a charm. But now I have even more questions involving this diabolical swing.
First, I didn't use wooden track; I used the Intamin giga track to give me a wider "swing radius". Wooden track would be absurdley small. So, using the giga track, I built a station 1 square long. Then I immediately followed that with a large upward curve. I did the same thing on the other side of the station. I set the train to have 1 Millennium Flyer car, and tested it. As excpected, it broke down and I had to hire a mechanic to fix it. But when I used Louis!'s method and sunk the ride, the mechanic was unable to fix the ride (he never got the call). So I decided to merge a woodie station with the giga track. But that doesn't work because the stations won't merge. How would I go about merging the two rides to get them to work without breaking down? -
Louis! Offline
Youll just have to build the woodie station first then use 1 segment of straight track to merge it onto the intamin then have the smooth upward curve. I can't see any other way around it
