This is my project that I\\\\\\\'m working on while I\\\\\\\'m stuck in a rut on my other park. I got great feedback for the other park, but I just don\\\\\\\'t know what to build, so any good suggestions can be posted there.
For this park, I want to have it be a way to practice detailed-realistic architecture without diving into the slight sterility of full-on realism, so I went with a Busch Gardens park, themed to the nations and cultures of Asia. The entrance is based on the Silk Road trading cities, because the Silk Road was the road into Asia for much of the old Western world. Enjoy!

What country is the first one supposed to represent? It looks more like Egypt/Northern Africa than Asia to me :/ -

To answer both of your concerns, the Silk Road stretched from Arabia to China, so this represents an Arabian gateway into Asia -

I've had this project in my head for a long time now. I still plan to make it one day, but I'm glad someone else is for the time being. -

Whatever 'country' this is supposed to represent, I like it. Especially the rugs hanging off of the balconies in the first screen....nice touch.
My only suggestion would be to either lower the water level in the pond or apply some sort of border (like brick or something) around the perimeter so that the path and water aren't meeting like that at the same level. -

Arabia could be considered Asia. Anyway, liking it so far!Edited by RaPiPo, 28 September 2008 - 05:12 PM.

You motherfuckers need to look at a map, god damn. The middle east is indeed in Asia. -

Two Screens!
This first one shows the station for Caliph, the entry's shuttle loop coaster.
This one shows the entry's camel habitat, reflecting the role camels had in the Silk Road trade.

The ambience you made is really nice!
I don't really like (and I think it doesn't fit there) the white house with the green roof. It looks a bit cold and foremost not Asian! -

I just wanted to thank everyone for the great comments. JDP, I'll post a completed screen for the next update. However, the coaster for the area is pretty minimal, so it won't be crazy detailed. I also like how the bobsled overhangs turned out I was debating whether or not to do it, and it turned out awesome. JJ, I'm still trying to figure out the whole camel thing, and the exhibit will probably be expanded. Sey, the building behind the camel exhibit are small place keepers, and the green-and-white one adds a contrast to an otherwise beige area. It might not be the most Asian thing on the planet, but for me it works with the area.
I lastly wanted to thank everyone for the feedback on the theme. I was having a lot of trouble deciding what country the entry would be, but it seems to work, so YAY!
PS: Yes, Arabia is in Asia. Thank you, all of those who agree!
