that's not the point.
I was referring to marriage as it is sanctified by whichever religion it symbolizes. Marriage as a religious concept. So if you want to use that word, sure, 2 guys can get married. It just won't be something other christians/jews/etc. have to acknowledge, as that is their religious freedom to do so or not. The GOVERNMENT though, will certainly have to acknowledge it if they already acknowledge heterosexual unions.
That's all I'm saying. One will not find peace of mind by going about LEGISLATING their religious practices upon others. -

Wait, what?or I could elect someone who can save the economy resoundingly,
McCain doesn't have a fucking clue about economics. And his financial adviser has the IQ of a rotting dog turd. How, exactly, would he be saving the economy?
Granted, I'm not terribly fond of Obama's fiscal policy either, but I don't think McCain has any advantage there.

McCain doesn't even know what the President's Working Group on Financial Markets is. Basically, we're doomed with whoever wins. -

Yeah, basically the lesser of two evils. -

So at the Weezer/AVA show tonight, one of the urinals had a McCain/Paulin sticker in it. In it. -

actually, I made a comment on this earlier about how I don't necessarily think mccain's economic policies are better now that I've talked to a few people who know better. For instance, Nigel, a friend of mine with a degree in economics and who runs his own business (cognizant blaze), says that mccain's policies are the ones that'll get us in trouble, not obama's. Granted, I'm not so sure obama can do what he needs to with a republican congress, since like I said before, they are just going to take whatever he does and not let it go through until they each get their say and a chance to tack on their own loopholes. Atleast with mccain though, he won't introduce as many tax laws as obama would.
K.I.S.S. is my position on taxes. Flat sales exempting food and rent. Like I said before though, no congress would allow that, and every person that ever said or tried to get rid of the IRS met with a bad end... -

eeeyeaaaahhh...
he has a problem with making illegal immigrants legal so they can pay taxes like everyone else? This guy is out to lunch.
You know, what he was saying started out so good, but that's just unrealistic. And he wants to release those 2? Oh hell no, he's a nut-job isolationist that'll get us in trouble with bad foreign policy and the inability to cope with an evolving international market. Everything else is fine, but the US tried isolationism and it did. not. work. It would be "insanity" to attempt it again.
And I already vote for who i want in the first place.
In this case, it's ron paul. -

just to be cynical, one of my favorite quotes from Marx.
“The oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class are to represent and repress them.”
I could never vote Republican based on the fact they seem to hate everyone who isn't a rich, white, heterosexual, male.
("seem to." This is not a fact... it's sad I have to put this clause in here because I know people will freak out when they read this.) -

blitz: He does not want illegal immigrants to be legal immigrants OR illegal immingrants. He wants the trasspassers back in Mexico, where they aren't immigrants of any sort in the first place. Also, are you saying you support interventions and invasions in other countires? Because you don't seem the type.
So you want to uproot tens of thousands of families currently living here illegally and ship them into poverty?
The problem here isn't us, it's mexico and it's corruptions and failings as a nation. The only reason they risk so much coming here illegally is because it's just that bad over there. Don't get me wrong, they love their country and their culture is beautiful, but what's going on in mexico right now is fubar.
Though we are somewhat to blame for it in terms of drug trafficking issues derived from our ridiculous scheduling, their weak government is what is really to be held accountable. The problem is just that: It's not something we can really help them with. 1) They are too stubborn to accept aid or policing support and 2) They are much too corrupt for it to do any good, and thus we can't throw money at them either. It'd go straight to pocket.
The only thing I think we can do is ensure that the people coming here become integrated into the system, and thus start contributing towards relief efforts aimed at lessening the strain on our economy and job market that they have further exasperated. -

If they wanted to come here that badly, they would go through a LEGAL immigration system.
I have nothing against Mexicans (fuck, I know some, and they are GREAT people, and I'm in Canada) coming to us, but tresspassing is another thing. Think of your house, you let people on your lawn, but you would be upset if I showed up randomly and began drinking your iced tea and watching your tv.
We should allow people across the border, but through a LEGAL PROCESS. This one case where beaurcracy and regulation might not be the worst thing ever, suprisingly enough.
JiMeMo: You quoted Karl Marx, who I used to be convinced was the devil incarnate. I hate you.
I wish Karl Marx was alive. and my lover.
