That was my initial idea....though it would then be dependent on the amount of parkmakers that have interest. And, there would have to be a draft of some sort so that the pairings could be at least somewhat on an even field so, parkmakers would be ranked with the lowest ranked "Pro" having fist choice of his "Am" teammate and so on. I'm thinking that we could have a sign-up and then GigaG could set up a poll where the community could rank the parkmakers (IMO, the most fair way) and then an ensuing draft. Anyone with ideas on time limits and duration, please feel free to post them and maybe we can get something rolling by summer.
Hahaha, priceless! -

that was fucking hilarious
But I really do think we should have some sort of contest come summer time -

We should also look at awards this year for Pro-Am rankings as well. If not, then RRP/Gee/CP6/5dave and myself could create an awesome entry...
Although if it's in summer, there's no way I could compete, as I will not have RCT in Europe w/ me. -

Me too, I'll be in Scandinavia from July to the end of August...
Btw, roobie where do you go exactly? -

I'm doing a two-week tour going to Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Munich, Innsbruck, Venice, Florence, and Rome. -

Please tell me that you're not insinuating that YOU should be ranked "Pro" because of any award you received. If so, that gives RRP/gee/CP6/5Dave and many others a shot at having me pair up with them and win this fucking thing.
And, I'm sure...as much as you're adored here.....that we can get a contest to happen with or without you. I'd just advise you to get your ass back from Europe ASAP. -

Yeah, you'd be pro, but whatever. Glad to see Mr. Modesty keeping check on "egos." But why does it matter, if I'm not gonna be here anyways! -

It would be fun to have a meeting there somehow with a few dutch NE members? I think that would be cool, to have a international meeting (haha). -

Yeah, it's my job. And my ego only comes out of hiding when contests come up. Other than that, if you haven't noticed, I don't talk a lot of smack. It's the competition that brings it out of me.Glad to see Mr. Modesty keeping check on "egos." But why does it matter, if I'm not gonna be here anyways!
Besides dude....you're only gonna be away for two weeks, right? I'm pretty sure this contest would last quite a bit longer than that. I don't see you not being here for that short amount of time having any real effect on anything....your teammate could easily hold down the fort for two weeks. Unless you get ranked "Pro" and end up with Zia or something.
And Cena...I'll meet fucking ANYONE in Amsterdam. It won't matter who the hell I meet, I won't remember it anyway. -

K0NG, why are you acting like this? I liked the old 'fuckbucket' K0NG more if you ask me. Now it seems you are bitching with Robbie everytime you see something you don't like about his posts. And you know that Amsterdam is in Europe and it's not a city district of Los Angelos? Just asking though.Yeah, it's my job. And my ego only comes out of hiding when contests come up. Cena, please don't start a flaming war. K0NG and I had a conversation over PM and AIM about this, and we're totally cool, so please, don't ruin it. -

Just been looking around the site...
and I think it might be time to start a contest
Place is lacking in RCT right now
although I'm sure there's many accolades to come -
K0NG Offline
Yeah, I know exactly where Amsterdam is. It's one of my favorite places to visit even though it's probably not quite as much fun as it was when I was younger. A little unclear on Los Angelos though. Is that also in Europe? -

:sigh:
Half the polls I set up fail, and I have to then proceed to calling the topic "delete this"
And I am thinking - lets do H2H6!Edited by GigaG, 21 March 2010 - 04:54 AM.

H2H6 is a big no-no. We've only just had H2H5.
I think the break we are having from contests atm is brilliant. Let's keep this for a while longer. -

Yeah, and the NFL had only just had Super Bowl XLIII a year prior to holding Super Bowl XLIV. While I realize that a few people have, and always will have extenuating circumstances that make certain times not particularly great for their individual participation in any type of contest, let alone an extended one....others are chomping at the bit. It was just over a year ago now that H2H5 began and at that time, just as now, participation in the AD was dwindling and retarded topics were popping up all over the forums. The forums were stagnating and people were becoming somewhat bored.....even those cruising along with their solo projects needed something to spark their RCT fires. Once H2H5 was announced, this place started jumping again and stayed that way through the entire contest. I say that this is the perfect time to get a major contest rolling. H2H5 brought out the best in a lot of players, especially some of the newer, unproven talents that have since become 'staples' around here and I don't think I'm the only one that sees a bit of talent that's about ready to break through to another level that could use a shot in the arm that only a contest like H2H can provide.
The break was 'brilliant'....but, it's time to start gettin' serious again. -

I agree with Louis.
Imo a small contest break is great for solos to finish.
Also I don't get why there's such a need for a NE contest...? If you want to enter a contest, there's the RCTSpace Road Rally where hardly any players enter anyways. You can even duo in that! And there's also Kumba's Monthly Micros contest. So why not join one of these if you want to compete with others? I just can't get it.

As much as a love contests, history has shown that a lot of great players have left during or shortly after contests, because of the expenditure of time and energy these afford.
However, H2H has also shown that it is a great motivation for many players to work on a team.
I personally think the next contest, whenever that will be, should take both of these factors into account. For the moment I am with Louis! and 5Dave, no contest any soon.
