Agreed, only by winning spotlight, it should be. And Liampie, why a bench? I think that takes away all creativity, and forces builders to build uglier with objects they don't like. Atleast all the fun for me is gone then.Being made a parkmaker isn't something you should get for winning a contest.

Why?
- More equal chances for each participator
- To 'seperate' contest entries from accolade submissions. Otherwise you could submit a contest park to the accolade panel for higher winning chances or submit any project for the contest.
- To make sure each submission wasn't started before the contest
- Because limitations boost creativity. Not having my own benches during H2H5 helped me a lot. -

letting people use what objects they prefer using is better. object restriction sucks. creativity boost isn't what i will want in a competative situation. -

The longer the contest, the more rules, and the bigger the size, the less people will enter. We got 64 people to enter in a micropark contest, and 7 to enter in the last big contest (pro tour). Think small. Think quick. Think easy. -

well the set bench usually has objects that nearly (if not) everyone uses, get creative. -

Hey Hank.....this is an RCT contest we're talking about. No need to bring details of your love life into it.Think small. Think quick. Think easy.
Edit: I apologize to Louis and anyone else that was offended by me being in a good mood and just typing the first thought that popped into my head as I read MA's post as a reply here. I will try in the future to not be idiotic and refrain from being in a good mood when I visit this site and keep my posts strictly on-topic and completely serious in nature. I guess girls don't just wanna have fun after all.Edited by K0NG, 18 February 2010 - 11:20 AM.

^What was the point of that. We were actually having a decent discussion without any idiotic comments.
A set bench can be good but it can also be bad. It depends on the contest. If it's something small like a micro contest then not having a set bench is much better as you can choose objects to suit your own theme better. If it's something like Pro Tour then a set bench can make everything slightly fairer but if it's something like High Roller's then because the contest it open to everyone then it makes more sense to have no set benches.
I still think an LL contest would be awesome, would maybe get more people into LL and show that LL is still going strong. -

ll contest!
what an ace idea.letting people use what objects they prefer using is better. object restriction sucks.
? sssammy is going all bipolar on us.
edit: or is that schizophrenic? -
Louis! Offline
Bipolar is the fancy name for Manic Depression, so extremes of high and low points.
So he is going Schizo
In all seriousness an LL contest would be fantastic, just I doubt it would ever happen, of course nothing has to be official though. -

First to get an accolade with an LL park wins.*
*park must not be in the queue already. -

I personally think a PRO-TOUR4 would be cool, because it sets a certain bar of level for making the park and with a fixed bench you learn a lot, using the same objects over again makes you clamp on to one specific style and you'll play on safe mode with it, objects your not familiar with challenge the builder so I'm all for fixed bench with a few open slots... -

I think some sort of 'Pro/Am' contest could be awesome. The only potential setback would be in the partnering up of teams. Although, a 'draft' implemented after the assignment and 'ranking' of the 'Pros' could work. I kinda have an outline for a contest such as this if anyone's interested. -

Whatever format maximizes the number of entries is best; therefore I personally think Hi-Rollers II or a similar, simple competition open to everyone is the best way to go. -
