If we are making up entries for the next contest then I have an idea.
Choose a little used park in Roller Coaster Tycoon LL called Trinity Islands. Or something of that nature. I think it would be cool to see some sort of revival.

A contest during winter/early-spring would be cool.
A contest soon while I'm on break would be perfect... I need a reason to play RCT again. -

Maybe we can organise something together ? I will contact you by pm or msn. -

Early Spring would be a good time for a small contest, the key word being "small". Nothing too extravagant. -

Maybe a pairs contest would cool in spring,
but I agree it schould not be too big. maybe 75*75 is good idea? -

Pro Tour/Hi-Rollers, allowing duos and a obligatory bench that has a few empty object slots so you can add customize it a little. PT3 system for judging. Starting in March/April/May, ending in July/August. -

Duo-Rollers?
Everyone is allowed to enter.
Signing up in pairs before the start of the building phase/workbench release.
Parkmakers would build in pairs to get an entry in before the deadline.
There is a workbench, but the duo's are allowed to create their own bench (for artistic freedom).
There are no rules, other than the entry must be received before the deadline, there can only be 2 parkmakers working on the park, no previously started parks can be used and there must be build within the given workbench tiles (blacktiles do not count in order for fantasy parkmakers duo's to go out of boundaries )..
I think that would be a good contest idea for in the future, as people can work in pairs which reduces the workload and would result in more entries completed, and parkmakers can motivate each other.. Besides, the social aspect is a nice feature which you don't have in solo projects..

That is what Turbin3 and I are planning, almost done, it would have been announced today, if I had internet yesterday, but my connection was buggy at my own home, now at my parents, so I should be ready to finish the things that need to be done in a few days, and then turbin3 and I will announce it.Early Spring would be a good time for a small contest, the key word being "small". How about a competition similar to what Tyandor did at Rct Compo many many years ago? A timeline park, where you just have to build the latest addition to the park.
For example, you'd be given the bench in like, 1980, with a small amusement park already set up on it. Then for 1981, you have to build a Vekoma Corkscrew coaster and theme it. You have a couple of weeks to do it, and then submit it. People vote for their favourite, and then anoher objective is set, and so the competition continues. -

Like a strict parkwars?
Whatever happens the contest needs to be run by the site when the admins have time or ran by the members utilising the site.Forums contests never last -

And who's going to build the already existing part of the park? I think that with a contest like that, entries would be judged too harshly on how they stacked up with the surrounding area. You get someone like 5Dave or RCTNW to build the park, and we'd all fail miserably at adding anything. -

@ RRP - Sort of yeah. I agree with the second sentence.
@ FullMetal - I'd be willing to make it. And if you know who Tyandor is, you'll know he was a fantastic builder, but other fantastic builders, such as Drew, X250 and Cactus took part in this, so it all worked out fine and dandy. It was just a simple small contest that worked really well. -

It will fail like all 'community' organised contests/projects just like the mass collabo idea did a few months back. -

I think its is reasonable if you keep the contest design size,
A design type H2H with duo's instead of teams would be very cool -

Mmmmm yeah like the community gets to vote who would be the most dynamic partnerships then the 5 voted teams of partners would have a deadline to send in the best design possible. It's quick, easy and could be done within two months. It wouldn't be anything major just fill the craving for the contest that we all want.
