Stupid Threet.
I fully expect this year to be a ride.
And I wouldn't blame Threet, at least not alone. The Defense made and excellent showing for the whole second half, once they figure out how to read an offense they can be a real lynchpin for the Blue. But Nick Sheridan, what the FUCK!? He got lucky. 10 point with only 30-some-odd yards!? Talk about capitalizing on penalties.
With Threet in the pocket the offense moved with rhythm, 3rd down conversions started happening, and while it didn't always end how we wanted, he looked like the budding quarterback destined to fill the void left by Henne and Mallet. Sheridan will turn into the QD that Rodriguez wants, which is great, but right now he should be relegated to backup, or put in only when we're up by a couple touchdowns.

oh and ps, Fuck the Buckeyes! Even though you guys are sure to wreck us. -

Woo! Go Ride6!
Although I didn't watch most of the game, of what I did see, Threet looked very bad. 3 straight incompletions, and what not. It was terrible. I sure hope Threet comes together. We need to have a quarter back like Navarre, Henne, and the like. But god do I hope we beat OSU. Eh, what am I saying? We're going to lose anyway. -

Pretty good week all around. A few upsets by rankings although a couple of them I wouldn't call upsets. Alabama beat Clemson (not an upset in my mind), East Carolina over VT (wow), Bowling Green over Pitt (not an upset).
Chris Wells hurt, not good for the Buckeyes with USC coming up..hopefully he sits next week vs. Ohio University and is good to go, but who knows. Both Boeckman and Pryor looked really really good but playing Youngstown St...not enough pressure to tell if they can handle that. Guess we will find out soon enough with USC awesome defense. Overall, the Bucks looked really solid. We did get the Big Ten Network right in time for the game. The good thing about that is that we won't miss any basketball games either this year.
Cincinnati won over Eastern Kentucky, didn't see the game though. They play Oklahoma next week....they have a really tough schedule this year and without a really decent quarterback they won't be as good this year...but I'm still rooting for the Bearcats.
Shame about Michigan. I wish they would regain their standing, because if they aren't good, we have no one to compete against in the Big 10. As they say, it's the Big One this year. -

That's the real fun of the Michigan-Ohio rivalry isn't it? It makes it so at least one game per season really counts. But this year, unless we see some huge changes in the offense isn't going to be one of those times.
I apologize even though I had absolutely nothing to do with it.

In review, this year's season opener for 'SC was much better than last year's most-boring-blowout-for-the-home-fans-to-watch ever. We looked pretty crisp for about 2/3 of the game, and the only major thing to improve upon would be that 15 minute session at the end of the first and half of the second quarters where we hit up like 50 yards of penalties that let Virginia score. Otherwise, it really should have been a shutout.
Ohio State should be a war, but I'm hoping that if we come out the same way we came out on Saturday, the Trojans should prevail.
Then again, OSU's D will pose a much better threat than the Caveliers. Turnovers will be the key to this one.
Fight on!

Ahahaha, OMG, Tennessee just embarrassed the entire SEC by losing to UCLA. -

I fully expect the Buckeyes to play much better next week, when they'll have Beanie Wells and will be inspired. I'm 99% sure they were looking ahead to 'SC. So as much as I'd like to laugh and make fun of OSU for playing badly and once again demonstrated their overratedness, I don't think we can expect this next week.
But hey... this week will be fun. At least for me and Becky, and AP if he drops on by. Big game.

In other news, I've upgraded my view on the Big Ten. They have four good teams this year: OSU, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Illinois. Out of those four two have the chance to be "great": OSU and Penn State. Illinois only got attention because they upset OSU, and Wisconsin has been getting people's hopes up only to falter since Barry Alvarez left the program a few years back. So yeah... I think that's about it. Michigan State can be good as well, but they're enigmatic. They're the UCLA of the Big Ten... they can play well and hang with good teams, but they can also lose to crappers and leave you scratching your head. -

Wow...I have to say that the Buckeyes have looked like crap for two straight weeks which concerns me. Beanie or no Beanie. I'm glad we scraped by today but honestly, I'm beginning to think we are overrated this year...and THIS was the year we were supposed to be awesome... :' />
The Big Ten is very similar to the PAC 10 as far as talent. Illinois will not be as good this year without Mendenhall, Juice the QB is inconsistent. Wisconsin is our biggest threat and I don't know about Penn State being that good...after all they played a really weak Oregon State team today. You are right on with your opinion of Michigan State.
As for AP, I doubt he will show up...maybe...but he is in London. Not sure if he can even see the game next week.
Cincinnati gave Oklahoma a first half game offensively at least but their defense couldn't come close to stopping OK's offense.
I guess East Carolina is for real, eh? -

Hooray for U of M. Kind of surprised they didn't beat them with a bigger margin, but a win's a win, right? -

georgia beat c. michigan 56-17. after that 28-0 lead the dawgs got, it was obvious cmu was screwed. we're off to a good start this year. next weekend we play south carolina, a game i am very much looking forward to. -

I can't wait to watch NC State take on the Pirates in two weeks...this game always brings out the worst between our fanbases, sometimes even more so than when we play UNC. We played William & Mary tonight, and between the on-field success and military appreciation night, there was a very good atmosphere and it was a hell of a lot of fun even though we were playing an FCS school. -

UM got cheated once again, the end of the 3rd Q was totally unfair... but hey we are not people here, no we are just wind and rain created by Al Gore... and only a reptile can survive that... which reminds me, my dad just let our iguana (yeah Wayne HIS name is really Milli! j/p, keep doing what you do! ) and now he's trying to screw himself thanks to the fact we have a wall thats one huge mirror... DAD! I need to go remind him (AGAIN) that at Gitmo!!! (lol), they have a sign clearly posted warning of the threat Iguanas pose to National Security!
Bush lets please make world peace I think it's now clear that all Florida's problems can be solved if all reptile are boxed and shipped to Cuba... or another evil place -
