RCT Discussion / Cool features

Well, not sure about anyone else, but I caught 5300 peeps in a do not enter trap today, I gave them an abundant supply of food, drink, and restroom.
But then they all got angry again, I put down some benches to see if they would instantly fill up, but they just got smashed in half...

No doubt it's done out of angry peeps, although I forgot to check how many red faces I had...

then he destroyed the go karts cause no one tells him when to "go" ...?

Posted Image <---- angry red face

I also have a whole pack of other RCT peep faces including some that never made it into the game. I got them off of RCT's original site years and years back.

^Would you mind posting those? Sounds cool.
  • Luketh%s's Photo
^^ Yeah, those are cool, post 'em, please!

I think its cool that if you place a scenery piece of some sort on top of a space shot style ride, the top of the ride goes flat and you can build a custom top easily, no hacks or anything required.

Cool feature I never really noticed before.

^There are about 60 total, so I will do it at some other time soon. I will however, post a prototype peep face for the 'angry peep' with devil horns!

EDIT: Also, back in 1999 and early 2000 there was a feature on the original RCT site called the "Evolution of RCT" which was the story of how RCT was created and included many behind the scenes photos of the game in development. I retrieved the page from Archive.org and saved all of images and text from the page so I could upload it on my website for people to enjoy today. :)

i just realised you could use f1-f5 to open the land tool, water tool, path tool, etc ...

it's pretty handy because it closes other windows unlike what happens when you click them with the mouse. plus, the responsiveness seems to be much better compared to mouse as well.

Cool. I might use those in my Parkmaking Deluxe development. There is a copyright warning, but does the copyright count anymore? The page is an old archive.

^ I'm all american, but copyrights are a small price to pay for our freedoms

WEll, since Sawyer is Scottish (therefore outside of the US) the copyrights may not apply. I would definitely look into more before using anything though.

copyright is only valid for 5 years if I remember right. so why bother?
  • Dark_Horse%s's Photo
Because that's not true of US copyrights

Copyrights in works created since 1978 will last for 70 years after the death of the work's author. If the work is what the copyright law calls a "work made for hire," created by employees within the scope of their employment, the work will last for 95 years from the work's first publication or 120 years from its creation, whichever is shorter. The provisions on copyrights in works created and published before 1978 are complicated, but, as a general rule, the copyright in those works will last 95 years. Anything first published in 1923 or earlier, though, is in the public domain.

If there is one country that is at the bottem of my list of nations who get my respect, it are the United States. The USA is totally fucked up if you ask me ...

So actually, I can't care about US copyrights.

Well, nobody did ask you, so...

Cena, we know you are "just here to give your opinion," but you don't see us saying that Holland is a shitty shitty country who should be ashamed for making fun of lesbians, or something like that. (Just kidding to anyone Dutch. :p) That was pretty unprovoked, and your attitude lately will get you nowhere fast if you keep going off like that.

Yes, feel free to insult Sweden.
