RCT Discussion / Cool features

In the process of making my current park, I've noticed a couple of interesting things in RCT2.
Firstly, when it rains I've noticed that the peeps don't put up umbrellas if they're under cover. I suppose it's fairly obvious but I didn't realise the game recognised if peeps were inside buildings or not, unlike in RCT3 where rain falls straight through roofs.
Another cool thing I found out is that if you have the park map open, it can highlight certain peeps. For example if you're looking at the list of peeps that are thinking 'I can't find the park exit', if you open the map the dots representing those peeps flash so you can see where they're stuck. And you can also see where all your handymen, mechanics etc are to see if they're evenly spread about.
I just thought these things were quite interesting and wondered if anyone else had noticed them or any other features. -

I figured out the first one in Rct1, since there was that scenario inside a giant pyramid, and people would still ride the indoor stuff even when it was raining.
One thing I noticed is that the mechanic kicks the observation tower when it breaks down. -

^ I believe the mechanic kicks most rides. I'm not sure if it's for all breakdowns, but I know on several occasions, the mechanic walks down the station platform, write some things down, scratches his head, and kicks it, fixing the ride. I always thought that was kind of clever. -

If it's a restraints stuck shut breakdown, the mechanic will work on the car and then tip his hat towards it. -

I know about the second one a long time already. The first thing is cool, I never noticed. -

the first one has some exeptions I believe .
it wont work for all kinds of objects. I believe they only think they are covered if its a small scenery which covers one tile or a large scenery they are under. so quarterblocks etc wont make a roof which they reconice. -

Looked more like the mechanic tried to fix the thing, lost patience, and then kicks it. It's interesting when he fixes the station brakes, he just whips out a giant hammer and lets loose. Hopefully he gets it fixed before something nasty happens. -

sorry to bump this, but I noticed something also.
The garden clock actually shows the current real time.

^ I actually found out about that one during the construction of Coyote Hills. I was using the clock as a support blocker not realizing it was an animated object. After placing them underground all over the place the map was lagging realy bad due to the movement. -

Damn, I never knew that. I used those for support blockers in my Hong Kong RR and could not, for the LIFE of me, figure out the lag issue. -

wow these are cool. I noticed all the mechanic things before. It took me ages to realize that peeps break benches, though...
off to rct to look at the clcok! -

I knew the clock changed, but I wasn't sure if it was accurate. Surprised that it causes lag though, since it moves so slow. I wonder if similar working clock objects could be made. -

I knew the umbrella thing, but I never noticed the flashing peeps on the map or the clock, and I've always wondered if the clock showed the time or not. Interesting. -

I bet a lot of people know this, but I find it really cool when the train travels over the blocked brakes, and the brakes actually move in and out.

yes I believe its possible. the oe recognises those object and I believe someone on rctmart made one once, but it has a lot of frames.I knew the clock changed, but I wasn't sure if it was accurate. Surprised that it causes lag though, since it moves so slow. I wonder if similar working clock objects could be made.
