General Chat / This is why you don't go in restricted areas

He was 17 and with a church group.. Doubt they were drinking.

He was being a naughty Christian....

What coaster was it, again? Batman?
If that's the case, I remember the Batman down here (SFOT) and know that there are some concrete channels under the latter half of the coaster. If the kid were to get into one of those, even with the train barreling down on him with a known trajectory, there'd be little time to get out of there.

Although, the kid coulda been deaf, too. Hard to hear the train when you're deaf for some reason.
And the guy coulda had a drink or two at lunch. Or has that been covered?

Being drunk is probably the only substitute for stupidity in this case. See, it all points back to one simple idea: you don't go into a fucking restricted area. And CP6, I stand by my argument. Self-stupidity (even if it results in death) deserves to be laughed at. I don't care if he had a family and friends. He obviously didn't care about them enough. This also goes to show that being Christian doesn't get you anywhere, and doesn't teach you anything.

That's the most irrelevant piece of shit you've ever written.

Please die, Xin, so we can laugh.

Or at least just fuck off.

Drinking would be the stupidity in the first place in that case, Xin.

Why on earth would you laugh at someones death? No matter who they are. If you find death funny then you are seriously fucked up in the head. I really think you should seek help before you hurt someone. Please for your own good and the lives of those around you. Sort it out now.

    I'm not dead yet.

Anyway, start being open minded, and laughing at death is pretty unacceptable even in this case. If you're in to that, then whatever-- just don't mention it here again or I'll ban you. Consider this the warning.

^Since when have you been part of the management team? I must have missed the update.

(This post is made with 0% sarcasm. Seriously.)

You can laugh at the reason for death but not the death itself.
  • CedarPoint6%s's Photo
About a month and a half ago, I guess. And JJ is correct.

I'm sorry Xin but you are a seriously troubling person. Like JJ said you need to sort it out because clearly you have no concept of being a human being. I'm also really tired of your ignorant, generalizing comments about Christianity. It's getting old.

We all know that religion has nothing to do with being drunk, in this case.
    Ever met an Irishman?

Also, the trip itself would probably have encouraged drinking if the teen were already a delinquent. Again, religion has no say in that matter, either.

    Anywho, back on topic.
Certainly unfortunate for the teen, the family, group, and any guests that had to become apart of the trauma.

Oh, and on a side-note: to anyone who works at a SF park, how well are your security groups trained? I know SFOT is pretty good, whatwith their cameras and guards on-duty. Seems odd that kids would be able to sneak in so easily. But may be different other places.

^Maybe it's not respect worthy but you still have to feel bad for them.

Why? Why do we have to sympathize for the people who make stupid decisions? In an overall sense, it's stupid irresponsibility that's led to a lot of problems in the country anyway.

Here's the thing... I'm going to openly admit to being prejudiced against stupid people. And I mean stupid, not ignorant. Ignorance is a product of circumstances. You can't control it, because you weren't given the tools or knowledge. But stupid is different... stupidity is knowing the consequences or having been taught and/or exposed to the consequences and then ignoring them. So what this kid did was stupid, and in this extreme case, it cost him his life.

Ya know what? I'm not going to feel sorry for him at all. Many people laugh at stupid things, so I don't think it's out of line that you laugh at this. Why? Because of the circumstances. In my mind, if someone is raped and you laugh, that's fucked up. Because the victim didn't have a chance there. The victim didn't choose this. If someone is murdered, again, there wasn't a choice here. But this death? Yeah, it sucks... the kid died... the kid's family is going to be mourning for a while. But dude.. he scaled TWO fences and TRIED TO TOUCH A ROLLER COASTER. If he was a good kid otherwise, then the only explanation would be some sort of intoxication or being under the influence. It's tragic only if he had some random sudden psychotic episode where he decided it'd be great to ignore the multiple signs saying DON'T TRESPASS OR YOU WILL DIE (well, effectively).

Somehow, I'd tend to think that what the family is saying about him and what the "good things" being reported aren't necessarily the whole truth, at least if you take a little evidence from his MySpace page.

If a stupid kid gets himself killed in a way that is thoroughly idiotic, I'm going to have a chuckle at that, because stupidity, in its very essence, is something I find humorous. I don't think anyone here can deny never laughing at something stupid or at "the stupid kid" or anything like that.

In this case, yeah, a person died. And that sucks for the person's family and friends, who have to be in shock and mourning. But the kid? I have no pity for him. So I'll agree with Xin when he says self stupidity deserves to be laughed at. I don't think we should let people off the hook for that. Look where that's gotten our society thusfar.
