Well my mum calls him an idiot and I must listen to my parents :p

And for all of you who say I'm cruel and inconsiderate: the kid brought it upon himself. I think I have every right to laugh at him and watch his death video (assuming there is one) over and over again.

Yeah he shouldn't of been in there, but still, you want to laugh at him dying? I feel sorry for you man. You are one messed up motherfucker. You're the sort of lazy, big mouthed fuck i'd like to drag outside and repeatedly beat shit out of, film the ordeal, put it on youtube and get everyone to laugh at.

You unfortuante prick. You have my pity.

^I take it you can't stomach movies like Saw?

That's a film you stupid fuck, people don't actually die in that. I know that might be hard for you to comprehend.

Kid was dumb. Didn't use his head and ended up losing his mind. ;)

Have some respect for the dead jackasses. Holy shit what's wrong with you people.

I still find it kind of ironic that one of the stories is that he was looking for his hat and then he promptly gets his head knocked off... just one of those things I guess. Like me downloading all of George Carlin's specials to watch and then he dies right after that. Life is really strange.

And I guess I'll bypass my good taste and refer people to an Austin Powers quote: "he'll never be the head of a major corperation"

Actually, I was at Geauga Lake a few years back and a guy tried to go into the restricted area and get his cell phone but was stopped by several ride operators. A female ride operator made the only phrase that's ever made its way into my long term memory. "Looks like his cell phone was more important than his life." was the phrase which would have been more meaningful if she hadn't uttered like an unsubtle moral message on an after school special. The fact of the matter is that people do irrational things that aren't in their best interests. I'd be willing to bet that every one of us here has done something incredibly dangerous that we found to be plainly idiotic in hindsight. This really isn't something to joke about no matter how ironic it may be.

Respect for someone who caused their own death? To me that is like giving someone respect who killed themselves, no suicide is not respect worthy.
  • Comet%s's Photo
^Maybe it's not respect worthy but you still have to feel bad for them.

He didn't go in to get his hat.

That's idiotic. This was an accident, he didn't mean to get killed (at least I don't think he did). Most natural deaths are self inflicted too. Many medical conditions are self inflicted. There's a big difference between an accident and suicide.

Also, I think most of you are forgetting this was a person who died. He had a family, he had friends, he had a life, and it was cut short. And all you do is make fun of it.

I think everyone should run into a rollercoaster. I mean why did he not look for the coaster at least.......
  • Dr_Dude%s's Photo
I'm not saying it wasn't his fault, I'm just saying there should be some respect.
  • JJ%s's Photo
    There is none.
  • CedarPoint6%s's Photo
^At least not from you. You may not have respect, but laughing at it makes you no smarter then him in my mind.
  • JJ%s's Photo
I am not laughing? I don't find it funny in anyways, I find the whole ordeal horrific but I just cannot get my head around what possesed someone to do such a stupid thing.

Oh, ok-- I got mixed up there-- although I suppose that can still apply to Xin. But yeah, I can agree with you in that I can't understand why... it's a shame we're unlikely to ever know the real reasons behind it.

As a general news update, the ride still isn't open due to a federal investigation. Perhaps in a few days.

^ Your fingers are typing again. You may want to see to that.

    Lol, Firefly.

Anyway, I just want to second everything Blitz said. It's all a result of the kid's stupidity. (I don't care what reasoning you provide. You don't walk in front of a moving train. Ever.)

What coaster was it, again? Batman?
If that's the case, I remember the Batman down here (SFOT) and know that there are some concrete channels under the latter half of the coaster. If the kid were to get into one of those, even with the train barreling down on him with a known trajectory, there'd be little time to get out of there.

Although, the kid coulda been deaf, too. Hard to hear the train when you're deaf for some reason.
And the guy coulda had a drink or two at lunch. Or has that been covered?
  • ChillerHockey33%s's Photo
He was 17 and with a church group.. Doubt they were drinking.
  • Comet%s's Photo
There was a friend in there with him and I'm sure he's going to eventually say what they were doing.
