That looks pretty cool actually. I like the waterfalls and lava flows, especially the steam you have where that meets the water. Foliage could perhaps be a little better executed, but overall it's very interesting. I'd be curious to see more. -

Well, I am rather limited to what I can include in the small objects slots. I find that I have objects that are not displayed, and can only access them, after I delete a few unused objects.
I MIGHT be able to add a few more trees or bushes... So, what do you suggest for the foliage? Not that I need files, but perhaps you have a few file names that I can search for in my ObjDat folder?
Nokia:
The glass dome was a pain in the butt. By far the easiest way to build one is to start at the edges, work around and around, working your way up to the center. I was lucky the thing worked out, with all the edges meeting without anything "fudged".
General:
This is a park, but I don't want to release until it's done. I'm about 50% done at the moment, but I have been doing this one since April 28th. or so. So, I think it might be finished by Fall. -

wow, originality.
but those ships make me sad. they're just one big object? i remember when pyro first impressed with creativity when he made a whole ship out of trackitecture. -

that 2nd last screen is just lovely.
how do you bulid a dome that big?
it must take hours apon hours getting it perfect. -

I think I remember that. I just don't hang around here that much to give a definate confirmation. But the ship I used is made from several segments. A bow, a stern and some rather large blocks themed to look like the sides of the ship. Here's a few images of earlier in the construction... Where the fires are on the deck? That's where I ""stretched" the ship. The black fencing sort of gives it away, but coloring was modified to blend in a bit better.
I added a bit more to it, because I wanted to create a ride inside the mountain that Nemo's Food court fortess is built upon.
If possible, look on the deck of the ship. I think you'll find some argonath roofing and a fill tile segment and a few fence objects just after the bow section. I'm using the ship as a themed entrance. Never got around to it though.
But the path does zero clearance through the bottom of the ship, through some raised tiles and out under the lagoon. And it just dead ends. At least until I get around to making the attraction.
I don't know who created this ship. But it's remarkable. But the file names are T2-PGBA2, T2-PGBB2 & T2PGBC2. With a few other objects, (like a miniature version of the ship) are included.that 2nd last screen is just lovely.

That it did. But I only actually manually constructed the sphere as a 1/4 slice of the overall structure. I tried to save the 1/4 sphere as scenery of a tracked ride. But the number of objects exceeded it's limit. So I had to save like an 8th. of it instead.
By mirroring the track, I mirrored the saved senery. Effectively flipping over the scenery. I could then save the structure, as a single "slice", (like an orange peel.) Any existing scenery that overlaps onto new scenery is automatically replaced by the new scenery. So overlapping is a non-issue.
Well, here are two mirrored scenery "slices". When they're positiond perfectly, they become seamless. By rotating and mirroring a few more identical attractions, the completed sphere is created.
Getting the curvature of the sphere slice edges as perfect as possible was the part that took the most time. Here is a pic of half the sphere. I did something simular to create the enclosure to Space Mountain. That first GeoSphere pic is fantastic. That's made out of a single object, right?
See above. I estimate: 250 x 8 = 2000 or something like that, (Whatever the limitation of the number of objects that can be saved to a tracked ride, I guess.) I didn't count. Better things to do. Sorry. I have no solid number that I can give you.Edited by Wolfman, 25 June 2008 - 10:18 PM.

No, what i meant was it was all made out of a single type of block, i.e. the quarter-tile block. -

Alright. Due to a peak in curiosity on my behalf, and intrest in the geo Sphere...
I reopened the saved game file and did a quick count. The total per slice is approximatly 754, "Building Block-Quarter@by Toon Towner". Only 1/4 tile blocks were used.
754 x 8 "slices"= 6048 blocks (appoximately.)
I thought the saved scenery objects were much less. Sorry if this was misleading.
Where "@" is located in the object name, is actually the copywrite symbol of the letter "C" within a circle.Edited by Wolfman, 25 June 2008 - 11:45 PM.

That's exactly what I trying to say, the sphere is composed of only a single type of object. -
Wolfman Offline
Well, I couldn't remember.
I think I made this design back in March or April.
And I thought I used full tile blocks at the base and the top.
I'm 50, my memory ain't what it used to be.
Cut me some slack, K?
LOL!
It's cool. -

The coaster seems to be a little wild. Some sections seem to be hanging out in space, when I really desired it to be more of a terrain coaster. While I might not be able to do much with the first major drop, I was able to alter a curve that I thought was way out in the air.
This was made with the large curves, so it needed four track sections to make the 180 deg. turn-around. Swapping out for a curved drop and a curved rise was a no brainer. And it makes the track conform to the terrain a bit better.
The color of each of the coaster cars was also changed. I'm not one who thinks that every car in the train has to match. So, I had a thought about when steel is heated, to "White Hot", (even though it would be melted and no longer able to hold it's shape,) that as the metal cools, as it's further from the heat, the color changes through the warm colors, Bright yellow, yellow, Bright orange, orange, red, deep red, then black.
So this is what I was trying to depict with the trains. That their hot, (temperature) so the front is bright, and each car is slightly darker, eventually going to black. This looks pretty cool. And it's not a full spectrum of colors. So the colors are "blended" a bit better. I wish you could see it in action. It's like the colors "fade" as they streak by.
I am concerned about the foliage, as CedarPoint6 mentioned earlier. I wish that CP6 would give me a clue about what they meant about being better executed. I want this to look the best it can. So if CedarPoint6 is reading, please tell me what you think I have to do.
One thing about this "Journey to the Center of the Earth" project was that I really didn't have a definite attraction in mind for it. I was torn between a B&M track and Splash Boats.
So I was working on this splash boats version along side of the coaster version. I finished the coaster, then I opened the boat version, and came back to this...
My first thoughts?? Lame, pathetic, sucks... So changes had to be made. Here is the boat version's ratings...
Not too bad. But it needed some expansion. So I set to work, making it a bit better. This is what I wound up with...
As it is, the excitement is only 0.81 lower than the coaster version. Intensity is 4.02 lower and nausea is 2.50 lower. Another view of the attraction...
I think I have to modify the waterfalls slightly, so that they aren't simply waterfalls that are spilling over "steps" in a straight line. Add some other waterfall features, and of course the vegetation. I wanted the view of the track to be unobstructed, so it can be viewed easily.
Any suggestions? -

Fairly well, actually. The only animation stalling is where the larger smoky columbs are animated against the water, surrounding the volcano. Like, the top half of the larger smoky columbs? Kind of glitchy. The top of the smoke freezes when viewed against the water animation. But since I haven't noticed any other glitches, I chalk it up to the object, rather than the speed of the PC.
My box runs RCT 3 fairly well. Not so bogged down when the park is half full. So running RCT 2 is a cakewalk. (E Machine Media Center, AMD Athelon 64, 3500+ Processor, ATI Radeon Express 200 video card.) I'm happy with what I got.
I designed a logo for the park. It's based on the real logo. But the images I found were blurry, and basically crap to start with. I changed the colors a bit, to colors I liked better. (Before you ask... Corel Draw 5.0) What do you think? -

I guess nobody likes it. Oh well. I'll try again. Probably come up with something original, I hope. Maybe someone could offer up suggestions for an alternative.
Anyway, I have an update of the Splash Boats version. I took the suggestion for a bit more foliage to heart, and I'm putting it to use on this one. (I'll get back to the coaster version sometime this week and plump up the greenery and get some pics of the improvement.)
Now, I just did the lowest areas, mostly because I wanted to hear any opinions before I go and do the rest of the mountain/volcano.

What you should do is put more ground texture. It looks a little bit too brown. Put some dirt grass texture and maybe rock and it would be perfect.
