    Is your dad Carl Rove?

How about you look a little before you start throwing out personal insults?

How about you learn a little about the church before making such a generalization?

You need to understand that just because Obama's preacher made a good number of controversial remarks over a period of time, this does not mean these views are shared by those who listen to them.

That is not the only place that story is found.

tE, you asked me for an explanation, I'd like one from you.
I've heard and read plenty about that church, dlh. It's not just the preacher.

give me some time I need to gather some facts for my reBUTTal
  • disneylhand%s's Photo
Oh, I obviously don't know the whole story.
Would you care to inform me of the rest woofenskid?

    I'll highlight some passages.

A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.

We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land, the mother continent, the cradle of civilization."

You cannot tell me that he would remain a member of such an openly anti-American church if he disagreed.

America is a mixture of many different races and cultures. So to put it in the words of your conservative buddies, if you don't like it, then get the fuck out.

The first people emerged from Africa anyway, unless your going to throw some Adam and Eve bullshit at me.
  • woofenskid%s's Photo
If you live in AMERICA, you should be loyal to AMERICA.

What this church is suggesting is that they are NOT loyal to america, but to africa.

Don't believe me? Look for the God Damn America' sermon.

My views on organized religion: Fuck it.

Believe what you want, but organized religion is nothing more than a way to make money.

Care to explain why you'd laugh at that?

Just to clarify, you can celebrate your culture.

    I don't care.

I'm descendant of Italian immigrants, and proud of it.

But either you came her for a reason, or you got shipped here in a tight, crowded ship to serve people that thought they owned you.

If you came here willingly, shut the fuck up and be proud of the country you live in first and foremost.

If you came here as a slave, and you aren't happy with it, even though it's been a hundred and fifty years since we stopped making you pick our cotton, you still don't like how it's done here? Go the fuck back to Africa.

To all african americans, peoples of middle eastern descent, chinese, whoever the fuck you are, if you're here legally, and you're proud of the country you live in, and you're glad you came, thanks. wanna come over for dinner? If you're not happy, go back to where you came from.

    No. Not really.

This must be the most racist remark I've seen for quite a while.

Oh, and stop with that loyalty thing, it's just stupid. Example, you make a trip in Europe. You're not loyal to USA economy.

Oh, and you must be one of those conservative people btw for being that stupid.

Are you fucking serious? racist? Did you even read the rest of that? I don't fucking care what color you are, or where you're from, don't tell me you're more loyal to your last country than the one you live in now.

To answer your question to Steve, woofenskid: You should read the Bill of Rights. Specifically, "to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Not to mention your freedom of speech.
  • woofenskid%s's Photo
Freedoms that you only have in the first place because you're here.
  • gir%s's Photo
And your point is? If the Supreme Court suddenly ruled that states have to recognize same-sex marriage would you be upset? So because you don't agree with that policy you're being anti-American, according to you. The beauty of the Constitution/Bill of Rights is that we have these freedoms.
  • woofenskid%s's Photo
That's a poor analogy. As is anything to do with abortion, blah blah blah. What i'm saying is that if you dislike this country so much that you have to tell everyone that your native land is better, maybe you belong there and not here.

And for the record, I'm pro choice as long as it's the right choice, and if two guys/women want o get married, let them. i don't care, it's love, not gender.
  • gir%s's Photo
If you dislike this country you should have the right to try to change it, end of story. What the fuck do you think the colonists came here for?
  • woofenskid%s's Photo
Than try to change it instead of sitting on your fat ass and telling other people how much it sucks.
  • gir%s's Photo
Hey, you made a good point for once. But really most people exercise this right by voting. Much like Obama's preacher trying to spread the word to vote for Obama and his supposed wave of change. Granted, I find it very offensive when people of religious leadership use the pulpit as a political device, but it's his right to do so.
