Welcome to Phase III of the Marriott’s Project Triple X. Some of you may have wondered what the “Triple X” was referring to. Well, Triple X refers to the three Theme Parks that would be built for this project. First was Marriott’s Great America (MGA), then came Marriott’s Marine World (MMW) and now we are happy to announce the third park to be added to the project. Phase III was originally identified as MUS however construction on that park was placed on hold for the time being and may perhaps come back to life down the road however, it has for now been removed from the Phase III plans.
Phase III not only represents the third park in the project, but will also represent THREE new maps to the project and all three will fit a specific theme/concept. Because the scope of the project has grown, the single parking facility is not big enough to support the needs the current plans. That said, a second parking facility will be created to not only support the two other new maps, but will also support Target Fields (TF). This second parking facility will also reduce the traffic congestion around the resorts.
The second map will be another sporting complex, only no “ball” will be used at this location, however it is one of the most popular sporting events in the country. International Speedway Corp, NASCAR and Marriott’s have teamed up and will be building a world class race track that will host it’s first NASCAR event on the 2009 schedule. Ground for Marriott International Speedway (MIS) has already been broken and construction is well on it’s way. We are hoping to show some construction photos shortly.
Now for the big news that we are excited to announce as to what the third map will be. Back in 2005, as a member of the RCT Masters, rwadmas and I teamed up to create NASCAR Experience. Although we were very happy with the end result and it was rewarding with an NE Blockbuster, we were not able to complete it too the detail we had in mind due to a pesky object limit. In short, we had unfinished business. That brings us to today in which I’m happy to announce the third map for Phase III and perhaps the most exciting/thrilling map of the project, Marriott’s NASCAR Experience 2 (MNE2)! MNE2 will feature a similar concept as the original in that all the coasters will be racing/dueling in addition to featuring highlights from all three racing series. The biggest news though is this will not be a solo park from me. As with the original version, I will be teaming up with a fellow NASCAR fan in the design of the park. I for one am excited to be working with this person as I feel that not only our interest in NASCAR is similar, but that our styles should work very well together. With that, I’m proud to announce that our very own, CP6 will be joining the project and will play a vital role on the MNE2 map.
Below you will find the current overview with the proposed layout of the three new maps and how it will fit in the grand scheme of things. The yellow titles are maps that have been previously released and the three green titles will represent Phase III
Well, there you have it. Again, I want to thank everyone for the support during this project.

Did you release Great America, the hotel, and the convention center?? I missed them! Maybe I'm just stupid.
Anyway, sounds cool. -

NASCAR? Again? Please choose something else.
I think you should combine parking lots so that they are next to eachother. Some switching around of the four new maps might be in order. -

SUPA-X – Yes
Ling – Sweet indeed!
Zodiac – I’m going to enjoy it more!
Nin – yes it is. Calling it NE2 might cause confusion
RaPiPo – A long time ago. Here is the link http://forums.nedesi...showtopic=16333
Steve – Sorry buddy. As I stated before, we were not able to do all the things we wanted to do with the first one so this version is needed. It’s not going to be the same park though as only the concept will carry over. As for moving the parking facility, I thought about that however it would not fit into my phase 4 plans. I also needed to have the parking lot next to TF so that it can support it also. This allowed me to go back and make some changes to TF to free up some objects. This meant I had to remove a large chuck of the parking area on TF to do this. By having this second parking lot next to TF, it adds believability that there is enough parking to support it. Also, the parking ara will support the speedway and a portion of MNE2. What did you have in mind?
inversed – No worries. I’m sure MUS will resurface down the road
Thanks

Trust me, Phase 4 will be brilliant, if James is still doing what he had planned for it.
Looking forward to the next Phase 3 update thoughEdited by Louis!, 26 March 2008 - 02:44 PM.

Phase 4?
are you ever going to do anything different?
I thought these maps WERE DIFFERENT? All of them have different ideas just rolled up into one big project (with the exception of the parking areas). What do you want to see different about them? -

Marriott is just the branding I'm putting on it so that it fits the area it's in. Think of it as a poor mans Disney! Would it make sence to have a six flags, Ceder Fair and Disney them parks all sharing the same parking lot? I really didn't want to create one for each of them. Even I'm not that crazy!
Thanks though for explaining it -

Do something different? Let me describe what I see James' design process as:
"Hmm... I want to build a bridge. Yeah! Hmmm... Let's make it a Marriott bridge!"
"Stadium... Stadium... Got it! Marriott Stadium!"
It seems to me like he's doing completely different things with every map, and the Marriott moniker is an afterthought to keep continuity. The only thing I find strange about it is that because it's all technically one project, people ignore the fact that he already completed 7 fucking megaparks. -

Thanks guys although technically, I've only completed 5.5 maps as the Convention Center and the bridge were already finished. I was just able to fit them into the project. That said, MA described it perfectly.
Just to add, TF and the Convention Center do not carry the Marriott tag as it didn't make sence, However using the parent park branding has been done to a race track though coughdisneycough so I think it's ok to follow that lead. That said, I can promise that phase four will not carry the Marriott branding.
posix - I figured you would like that bit of news!
