Round 4 - Match-Up #1: Kumba vs. Zodaic
#2 Kumba with his entry:
The Last March of the Ents
#8 Zodaic with his entry:
Sognare
The winner, thanks to disqualification, is... Kumba
Unfortunately Zodaic violated the rules on what scenery he could use to the point (over 10 illegal objects) of earning himself a DQ. He was given the chance to fix the problem, but seems willing to move on from MM. Great work getting this far Zodaic. I am really becoming a fan of your work.
Kumba continues his march to the finals as yet another opponent seems to lay down in from of him. In the final 4 this should not be the case and I think we all hope to see me given a real challenge. -

yeah, sure is, and still i find it nothing but ugly.

zodiac should've won. -

Do you really believe Zodiac should have won? How are you judging this? I'd quite like to know. -

Kumba's is way better than zodiac's.... No way he should have one. For a start Zodiac didn't even have any rides... (sorry mate but it's true ) -

Nice work both of you.
What I didn't like about Kumba's entry was the quarter-tower (why didn't you built the whole thing?) and the thin ground. It was way too thin, even for a fantasy entry. Otherwise it was great, brown but great!
Zodiac's was nice too, shame he used different objects. His archy gets better and better. Reminds me a bit off RCFanB&M's work. If it had a ride it would have been much harder to judge IMO.

I actually see where Posix is coming from.
Zodiac's is far more aesthetically pleasing, the colours, archy etc... but there's no doubt Kumba's is the superior work.
Well done Kumba.
But Zodiac, i'm liking your work a lot. -

I just figure I should tell everyone that this was never meant for MM. I built it to try something new, and liked it, so I sent it in for CC, knowing it wouldn't make it, but Kumba said he could use it anyway. This bench was based off of geewhzz's official bench, not the PT3 benches, which explains all the extra objects. Also, I was gonna hack a boat that would speed around the water, like in Isole Calabria, but I was too lazy. Still, thanks for the comments, you guys. This is definitely some of my best architectural work yet. -

Wait, if this wasn't even sent in for MM, then why did Kumba make it seem like it was? Of course there are going to be extra objects, if it was sent in for CC. These back-door deals, shady doings, and shenanigans are starting to get on my nerves. -

Well I think... Zodiac sent it in for Concept Creation. But it wouldn't make it as one... Zodiac didn't make an entry for this contest, I assume... So Kumba decided to just use it so it was a disqualification rather than a forfit -

Zodiac did not have anything planned for MM. It was this or he'd just toss together a half assed entry quickly. Seeing as Sognare was rejected for CC I think he still wanted it to have a decent release and seeing as it was the perfect size he opp'ed for an MM DQ release so he could move on with other projects of his. Also seeing as my entry was ment for JiMeMo I had posted pictures of it at Majesty's forums and he knew I had this monster laying in wait, so maybe he felt he could not win.
As for my entry I am very happy with the lower section and imo thats one of the best MM coasters yet. The upper part was pretty hard, but I think I did a decent job. The tower of Orthanc would be a long way away from the dam and mine entrances in the books, but as it is the staple of Isengard I wanted to include it in some way and did not feel there was room for the whole thing, so I only did 1/4 of it.
Keep the comments coming, I am very happy to be going to the big dance! -

I must say I'm pretty unhappy that zodiac was planning to just forfeit anyway and decided to just send in an entry that would get DQd anyway. He got all the way to the Elite 8 then just bails.
I did like zodiac's entry though and it was easily my favorite work from you. Your archy has improved a lot and if you keep building like this you'll quickly move up the nonParkmaker ranks. The lack of a ride was the only real drawback here.
Kumba's of course was pretty awesome. The coaster was cool as well was most of the theming although the top was a little bare compared to the rest.
With other people saying their entries won't be all that great I guess overall this round will be a lot less exciting than expected. -

I wasn't planning on forfeiting; I was gonna make an entry no matter what. When Kumba said he could use it, I just figured it would be fine, since I was pretty busy as it was. I just figured I'd rather DQ with a good entry than lose with a bad entry.
On the bright side, my design will be sent in this weekend. -

Alright, perhaps I was a little hasty earlier when I said Kumba was wrong, it seems he considered all the options and made a good decision here.
(alright Kumba, I told them, now please give me back my pet cat fluffy! )

I agree with posix. What ever happened to building parks? That's the one thing I don't like about this contest (or CC's, I guess); it moves away even further from what this game is about: making parks. You can jump on me and say something like "It's only 15x15, how are we supposed to make a park?!" Well, you can't. That's why I really don't like it. And sure, Kumba's entry required a large amount of skill, but God it looks ugly. I don't even know what it's suppose to be. Is it an ant hill? If it is, why is there a coaster in it?
I'm not saying Zodiac should have won, because, it looks ugly too. It's a bunch of horribly done architecture with no rides.
And Kumba, you're not supposed to say "I think this is one of the best coasters in the contest" about your OWN park. How full of yourself are you?
OHHHH. March of the ENTS. Like Lord of the Rings? I'm not sure if you're spelling 'ants' wrong or not. -

Didn't you see LOTR, Steve? This totally looks like that scene in "The Two Towers" when the Ents attack Saruman's tower, Orthanc. And while I see your point, and personally I like parks better than this abstract stuff too, I also believe this abstract stuff does have a place in the overall RCT universe.
