Well, after trying everything I can think of and all of the different settings / versions that I have read and tried, my parkmaking days are finished. With that said, here are the three remaining unreleased maps from the Marriott project
MMW - DL Removed by Kumba
I would like to thank a few people for their assistance on this map. Sorry that they were not finished.
- Turtle for a great vertical drop coaster
- Kumba for the B&M Giga Coaters
- Levis for the Splash Boats
I would really like to have finished this map however whenever I would try and restore from a zero clearance, it would still glitch all over and didn't make a difference what I did. I have spent several hours trying to get it to work to no avail.
MUS - Movie Park - I first want to know for sure it isn't fixable (Levis)
Not much to say on this one
MUS - Back Lot Tour - I first want to know for sure it isn't fixable (Levis)
Would have been fun to finish this one. Oh well
As you can tell, I'm really disapointed that I'm not going to finish these as I still had the desire before going to the new PC with Vista. Perhaps I'll just play the scenarios from now on
Enjoy (what is there anyway)

something which might is not said before and just comes in my mind.
I'm using norton internet security and because of that I've disabled all defense systems of windows (windows defender etc).
it could be you haven't and because of that the 8cars trainer sometimes get blocked by the defender -

Now I don't mine you releasing your stuff, but being MMW has one of my best coasters in it and pretty much finished I am taking off the MMW DL until we can talk.
I think we could make it design or maybe I could finish the map, but thats not getting released this way.
I'll comment on the other maps when I have a chance to look at them. -

Got it and thanks. I'll look into it in a few weeks. Right now I'm tired of fucking with it.you've got a PM with extra info.

Only thing I can say is.........what a lousy thing that awful Microsoft has to take away your pleasure in these ones....
But yeah...I do understand, a computer that you cannot get to work as you want it, is an awful thing and sucks a lot of fun out of you.....
Keeping my fingers crossed that the problem can be solved when you are up to that again,

First, let me say thanks for the encouragement everyone.
Second, it appears there may be TWO different versions of 8cars 1.302 out on the net. The 1.302 version I was using was from rct2.com and although the zip file name was 1.31 (I think), it stated it was 1.302 in the “about” area of the actual program so therefore I figured it had to Vista that was causing the problem. Up until late last night, I did not try to use the link that Levis posted since I did not have a program to open rar files and the version I was using was 1.302. That said, I tried Levis version of 1.302 and it seems to be working better although I think I’m in the same boat as Cork now in that sometimes rct2 & 8cars stop talking to each other and I have to reboot. Although a bit of a pain in the ass, it does seem to restore from zero clearance for me now.
As for SoB. I was also able to sink a ride entrance/exit using SoB last night, however it took many tries and is still not reliable for me. I can live with this problem though. Problem now is that I’m using a map that has a glitched Double Decker tower where only part of the ride base is visible (no part of the tower is visible). This was caused from an earlier attempt at sinking stuff through SoB and I’m not sure what to do with it now. Unless there is a way to remove it without crashing the game, I will probably just build over it with a building or something.
In short, after 2.5 months of getting very frustrated and pulling my hair out (not really but you get the point), I may be back up and running although a bit slower than I normally build. If anyone is having problems with 8 cars and Vista, use the DL that Levis provided as you may have a bad version of 1.302. You will need a program to open rar files but it may be the answer to your problems. I think it was for me.
I’ll play around with it more this weekend and hopefully have fun once again!

ok
like I said in the PM I'm able to remove that glitched ride for you so I think we can close this topic now and just pretent it didn't happen so you can still win a spotlight with this . -

just kinda wanted to add: "why not format and just install xp??"
The thought crossed my mind however I only have one version of XP and it's on my son's computer now. He would have been booted back to Windows 98 and I didn't want to do that to him. -

You can't use one copy of XP on 2 PC's within the family?
Not that I do it, but I thought that you would be allowed to do that... -

^ No you can't. The EULA states you can only have it on one PC. Also, when you "activate XP" (as I understand it) it looks to see what type of PC it's installed on. When you try and install it on another PC, (within a short amount of time) it will not allow the activation and you have to call MS to get it cleared. In short, it wasn't worth the hassel.
