Personally though I'm looking forward to Christmas break more than anything I'll get on/for Christmas itself. The opportunity to sleep days away, hang out with old friends I haven't seen in a while, jam with my old bandmates, etc. should make up for the next couple weeks of hell as we plow into finals.

I asked for a delay pedal and pedal tuner for my guitar. I'll probably end up getting a bunch of giftcards to PacSun since I work there, meh.

And then theres various music/electronic stuff like one of those things that lets you play your mp3 on a radio. Then theres this guitar program my friend told me about where you can connect the guitar to the computer and record, loop, and do other stuff. Anyone know what its called? I know its made by Line 6.

A drum pad would be nice too since the one on my recorder right now is a bunch of tiny buttons that aren't as much for a steady drum beat as they are for occasional effects.

Amazon gift certificates are good too since you can get cds for like seven bucks and because it isnt itunes

Anyway, I was saying that's what I want, not what I'll be getting. I'll probably get either the printer or the pickgaurd... Cds basically go without saying, they're stocking stuffers.

Yep, the Podxt. I suggest getting the Live version, its a floorboard style that you can use live as well, along with all the functions of the normal Podxt. Its an extra $100, but well worth it.

As for me, I'm purchasing a synthesizer, and asking for some money to help me pay for a new acoustic guitar.

Thanks guys, looked into it a little and looks great so hopefully Ill get it. I read something about needing a subscription, but I think its only if you want to play along with songs without a guitar part which i wont be doing. BTW, is the live something you could get later as an add on? Because Id rather just get the minimum right now then get add ons when Im sure Ill be using it consistantly and its worth it.

I don't think the Live is an add-on.

What you might be able to find is floorboard for it, which you hook up to the PodxT which would essentially be the same thing, but I don't know for sure.

Floorboards are relatively cheap.

My friend has the same one. I think I've seen it for 300, but I might be mistaken. If I get a synth it's not going to be the same on principle.

More than likely a Roland Juno-D. The MicroKorg looked good, had solid features, but the only 3 octave range just isn't enough for me.
