so you say that everything which is off the map but is invisble is no problem ...There's a difference between have a ride go off the map invisably and having your buildings go over the edge. JJ's doesnt have anything over the boundry except the coaster train, where yours has scenery.
If it's going like this, I think we should just ban both ideas. everything should stay in the 15x15, no exceptions, or else your exception list will be a mile long.
in that case I can do every hack I want .
Edit: Main layout of the coaster is done, flat rides and special effects are added.
only need to do some simpel hacking (advance hacking already done) and theming and my first entry is done . -

I'm with MA on this one. No exceptions. -

If anyone has a problem with the two or three windows that are technically over the edge, but look like they're on the edge, i give them my permission to delete them. -

Just need to wait for Kumba to say now...
(might change mind :-P)
I can easily make it so it's not off the map
it just means making the station one tile longer -

Like WME said a few posts ago, make the best Micro park you can. If you turn something in that seems to brake the rules so badly it's worthy of a DQ I will let you know and give you 24 hours to fix it.
Also WME I can't open .rar files and see that bench to check if it would be ok to use for this contest, so until I can anyone building on it will be at risk of having their entry rejected. -

then why didn't you just do that in the first place?!
Cos I wanted a better layout
I just tried to rejig it but it's two tiles off and I only have room for one tile adjustment
So I am just gonna keep it as is and hope I don't get less of a chance with judges cos of it (if i make it far enough for this one )Edited by JJ, 06 November 2007 - 12:15 PM.

The list doesn't need to be any longer than it is right now. I say that we allow minor elements off the edge of the map, allow the edge of the map to be covered by a walls consisting of a maximum of one color and only one type, and forbid anything beyond this. In my particular case, the walls are only to cover up the land which I hadn't remembered to lower to the lowest possible point. There is no advantage to having the walls thematically as they're just black and I'm not using them to exploit the bench given to RCT2 players. -

Yeah personally I think the park is going to be using just as much space if the walls are on the inside square or outside. I could hack them so they can fit on the inside square and it would look pretty much the same. Its just that I dont want to switch to use 8 cars constantly and might as well take advantage of the fact I can actually put two walls on the edge of the map instead of one. -

I just missed RRP posting. Dang. Oh well.
Here's a building from the entry I'm not turning in at all. (Also the same entry as the portculis I showed earlier on page 4.) I decided I didn't like it, but I don't want someone to take my idea and make it look 10x better.
All comments welcome. (Especially good ones.)

That building is really small. But at closer look it has some good details. But it could really have used a second floor or something cool like that -

It's too late to start making exceptions. Others, myself included, have already planned and started their entries using the rules as stated on the first day. Had I known there were going to be rules changes I would have waited and made different (and hopefully better) plans. -

Thanks! I actually did think about a second floor, but I decided against it, as I thought it might take away from the real focus of the map...That building is really small. But at closer look it has some good details. But it could really have used a second floor or something cool like that

I haven't started mine yet, but I should have plenty of time during this three day weekend. I just need to figure out what I'll do for my first one. I've got a good plan for my best one, and if possible, I'd like to make all of them tie in somehow. I'm thinking maybe I'll just do themes that I've considered for areas in full scale parks before, but which I'd probably never make full scale. Also I just got Loopy's entry, so thats three guys in and if Xcoaster, zburns999 or Ge-Ride get their entires in fairly soon we could see an early match-up.

To be honest, my first mini is nearing completion and it hasn't turned out very well, so I'm going to probably keep on building and hope the next one turns out better. After all, I've never faced any top level competitors head on in a competition before and my previous contest record isn't exactly grand. You'll get my entry right before the deadline's over and not a minute sooner.
