CEO Karny here and Id like to welcome you all to a exclusive construction and back stage report on our companies first park Blackdown Amusments. We have located it in off the A303 in the south of England near Salisbury.
Anyway enough of the location this is the photos of construction so far. We can also reveal we are aiming for 1990 as our opening season and should easily make it. Please also bear in mind that all these pictures are going to be work in progress (and will probaly continue to be until we are ready to open).
Anyway here are the pics.
Entrance:(small at the moment as we are not sure on the visitor numbers to expect)
Resturant:
Pirate ship:
Merry Go Round:
Shops:
Overview:
So now you've seen what we've done so far we'd love to hear some feedback on the park form you all. Also night shots will be up when Ive sorted the lighting out and completed more of the park.

I feel the path could do with breaking up a little, other than that keep up the good work. -
TwistedHelix Offline
yer the path was a bit of a problem. I decided to leave it a bit wider but it ended up too wide. I may put some planters in somwehere to break it up but I need to decide where as if I put them in the wrong place itll make the park look cluttered.
About the sets I used here a list of ones I know Ive used so far:
Shyguys Alpine 1,2,3
Shyguys Mainstreet (not sure what number so Ill just say all of them 1 to 5)
Shyguys Catfish Cove
Vodhins Lights
Waterset
Icecats Build Your Own Shop
Thats all I can remember
Well I should have a coaster up for yopu soon so you can all enjoy that and Ill try to sort out the pathing issue.
Cheers

Here we go update for ya all (still work in progress though). This shows the first roller coaster of the projected two to go up for the opening season and we have chosen a wooden coaster to debut the parks coaster family.
May I present Timber Terror
Entrance and station building (other side includes storage area and maintenance area):
(OOC: A shot showing the support work I have done for the coaster (is all over it lol) The entire extra supports is made using 1 custom scenery piece lol. Also note now that I was really happy by the results but its a pity that i couldn't find and decent footers so just left them like they are which kind of damages the overall look but hopefully when the vegetation is complete most of the lower supports will be hidden.)
This is the overview of the coaster:
Hope you all enjoy them.
Cheers

Why is there a huge poster of Uncle Sam in front of the entrance if this is supposed to be England?
Break up the paths a little, everything else is pretty standard fare. -
TwistedHelix Offline
Uncle Sam is a placeholder till I make one for the park (first I need a name you see).
The path is being dealt with and what does standard fare mean lol?
Cheers

CEO Karny here again to present you with pictures of our second and last roller coaster to be at the opening of the park. It was originally projected to be a roller coaster for the younger members of the park but it got a little out of hand in the design stages and ended up being the junior model but with a 40mph launched (still gave the park a pretty much unique coaster). The train is then shot up a hill and precedes to dive steeply into the station area and under the station before preceding to complete the rest of the circuit which also includes a pretty neat air time hill for a junior coaster. So all in all we now have a unintentionally planned signature coaster for the park. Anyway here it is. May I present Blast!
Station Building shots:
Heres a overview shot of the coaster:
And finally not really regarding the new coaster but heres a overview of how the whole park looks now. Note that we have greatly increased the vegetation around Timber Terror (to tie it in further withs its name meaning that that coaster is nearly finished).
Comments and critiscm appreciated as always.
So until next time.

interesting concept with a launched kiddie coaster.. not sure it works too well, but hey. maybe i'll have to make use of that in the future.
layout looks a little iffy... most kiddie coasters are simple figure eights or loops. granted, yours is not 'normal', but since you seem to be going for realism the way it would probably be done is to approach Zamperla or something and say 'can you stick a low-speed launch onto one of your standard layouts?' -
Rhynos Offline
I like the concept of the launched mini, but is the acceleration from the launch accepted for it's setting? -
TwistedHelix Offline
Well it only accelerates at40mph so it isnt that bad plus weve decided itd be better used as a subsitute for a launched ride for the younger ones giving them a scaled down version of the thrills that the older peeps will hopefully get if the park is successful enough to add some more coasters.
This of course measn hat pretty soon though we will have to add a true kiddie coaster to not leave the very small guests out.
Thanks

Here is the outer facade of the final two rides that are both enclosed. The building still needs work but we think it si coming along well and aslo provides a more Mainstreet apperance to the opening area which we were aiming for:

Hope you all like the improvments until next time.

Its boring. Just standard buildings, with kinda substandard ride designs, and a lack of real scenic charm. Get some landscape in there, be adventurous with your architecture, and look over some real world coaster lay-outs. -

Congratulations sir! You've just created the LONGEST topic title in the history of history!
I'll be sending by some people from Guiness to verify the record.
