Okay, so here's the deal: nano, ugly as hell. Normal iPod, looks (and pretty much acts) exactly like the iPhone, and it would probably be a better deal to get one of those instead of this.

Besides the fact that the nano now has a wide(ish)screen, and you can get the iTunes store on your iPod, not much of a point to this.

I'm still completely content with my 60GB video ipod.

i won't need a new ipod until my 60gig breaks for some reason or another.

People actually get music through the apple store?

Meh, I think the new one is ugly seriously. And I'm still glad of having my 8go black nano Ipod. :p

That will happen if you drop it on the ground. :'(

But then again I am getting a new hard drive for it installed for about $125.

What I really don't get is that they're still offering the "old" iPod, but now with a 160 gig hard drive. Guess the touchscreen one is really only useful if you watch movies on it, which I have no interest in doing.

But I just realized that the touchscreen iPod has Wi-Fi, which is cool. But the hard drives are only 8 gig or 16 gig. Yeah. Fuck that.

I bought my Ipod 2 months ago, and the speakers on the headphones are already starting to go. Maybe they should stop trying to invent the next big thing, and make sure their existing shit works right.

I've dropped mine on the ground loads of times and it hasn't broke

that's weird... my cat chewed on my headphones and they still work--granted he did tear apart another pair.

If you've got good music on your iPod and you have crappy/iPod headphones, you probably aren't getting the most out of your iPod or the music on there. That's why I went out and got some Shure e2 headphones. They're pricey, but dual drivers have a noticeable difference than most other brands (although the e3's and more so, e5's sound better due to triple drivers for greater range with less distortion) and have a reliable name, too.

You can replace the hdd yourself for half that, it's really a lot easier than you might think.

i'm happy with my 30gb, of which the maximum amount of songs ive ever had on it is 1500.

Well I am having someone I know replace the HDD, and it will actually be about $80. I could probably still get a drive for less than that, I know, but I'd rather let a semi-pro handle it anyway. Still better than $255 or whatever Apple would charge me.

And also, iPod headphones are terrible.

    That makes sense.

I'll probably get the 8GB Video Nano. Black, of course, the only color that remotely looks good.
I also hope the reason it's $199 is because it still uses Flash Memory.
The iPod Touch looks like a ripoff. Only 16GB? If you're emphisizing on the video aspect, then at least 30GB.

And, I actually buy stuff from iTunes. Mainly because torrents take too damn long.
