Wow it's great to hear what you think, and thanks. The day you were last active on the site was the day before I contacted Kumba to see if he needed any help. The menus can be changed in the control panel, unlike the old ones where a new graphic would need to be made and then a link added into the code. I think that's there only advantage really. What don't you like about them?
-------
There is some debate as to whether the signatures should be directly below the posts (like it is now) or after the silver bar. I think the former looks better, but the later makes it more prominent which part is the message and which is the sig, which was the original idea.
I've just changed the DRC and WW banners to show Spellbrook Shore too as the banner for that seems to show up less than the others and so that the spotlight banner appears more frequently that the design and blockbuster ones.
Thanks, Tom -

Finally. A new era has begun.
Oh and with all these people becoming parkmakers by building spotlights I'm starting to feel guilty. It's interesting to me that I have such a reputation as a respected parkmaker around here and yet I haven't yet and probably never will build a spotlight. Then again I guess the parkmakers I looked up to more than any others (Mala and Mantis) technically only had one each.
Now on subject: the graphics are quite beautiful, thanks guys. The rotating banner on the front page may be the coolest thing I've seen on an rct site ever (with the exception of the parks themselves); what a brilliant way of keeping everyone up to date! The content is excellent too it seems, I've yet to view the parks (just downloaded them) but the mere fact that you managed to gather two minis and two full-scale maps, with one being of spotlight quality no less, for this occasion is wonderful.
And to think I was loosing interest!

I think this is really amazing, and injects that much needed 'freshness' to NE..
I really like the way the whole website looks, and how it all is pretty uniform and fits into each other.. I'm looking forward now to update my parks!
I also like the new Blockbuster area, as I thought the SRU award didn't do anything more for a park than the RU award.. I'm not too sure on the concept creations, but I guess time will tell..
The banner on the front page that shows different screens of NE parks is cool too.. Couldn't this be integrated into the forums as well? That would be awesome!
Thanks to all those people that made NE3 (especially darkfire as I understand he did the majority?) and to J K, Magnus and Geewhzz for getting NE Parkmaker! You sure deserve it! Also congrats to the other peeps that won something

hpg IMed me a while ago and told me the signature placement got changed up a bit on the posts, and it honestly looks alot better than it did when it first came up. again, good work everyone. -

I've enabled replying in the old AD topics, although I think it could get a bit confusing like this.
---
Having screens at the top of the front page was Levis' suggestion. He'd pointed out that it wasn't immediately obvious that this was an RCT site and the idea had already been kicking around to have the logo of the last spotlight on the front page. Along the way the ideas merged and after more banners were added. -

Thanks everyone who worked on NE3 and made it come true!!
I think it is looking superb and really fresh.....
Still have to get used to how it all works, but we´ll learn along the way.
Anyway, great work, and my sincere congratulations
Also big congrats to all new NE-parkmakers and CC-winners (bit late/early in the morning here now, will need some time to view them all)

(btw...is it normal that in the new skin I lost my ``H2H4 MVP ``title?....was rather proud on that one as long as I could still enjoy that one before it is 2007 and having to miss it the first 4,5 months of this year because of that stupid accident, lol!) -

^If you scroll over your avatar it says it.
I love everything about the new site too.
Great job to everyone that worked on it.
My only concern is...I don't really like the new AD, and it just seems unnecessary.
Also, it's going to get kind of confusing with 50% of the people using this forum and 50% of the people using the old forum. -

Nice work guys! Some stuff is going to take some getting used to, but the front page is very lovely. I'm sticking with the old forum for now though. Thanks to all involved! It's going to take me a while to get caught up with all the new stuff, but I'm looking forward to it. The site is definitely still living. -

I'll admit, I didn't like it at first, but it's starting to grow on me. I must say I'm upset that there still isn't a subforum dedicated to real world parks, but hey I'll live. Great job getting this up and running guys. -

I shall be using the new forum skin. I love a good challenge.
(no seriously guys YOU JUST NEED TO GET USED TO IT!!) -
Fr3ak Offline
Yep, I use it, too! It's not that difficult and it looks fucking good ;o)
One thing. I think it would be better, if you only show the first .. let's say .. 500px of every ad in the ad district and not the full post ... cause when it's like it is now ... you have to scroll much to see everything .. -

Great Job Darkfire !
the lay out is perfect ... the only thing I'm really missing is a forum navigation at the top of the page (which says where you are and where you can click on the forum index, topic etc...
Edit: ah wait I see it now ... I need to click a bit below it (in IE6) is it possible that the whole word is clickable and not only the under part ? -
JJ Offline
Yeah that's the only thing bugging me. That navigation should be a lot lower down the forums.. At least below the giant text pieces -

Great job everyone who was involved!!!

No it looks good where it is.Yeah that's the only thing bugging me. That navigation should be a lot lower down the forums.. At least below the giant text pieces
Also, the whole text is clickable... In a real browser, at least. -
JJ Offline
It looks good but it's way at the top... Oh it's at the bottom as well
I'll use that one then
HEY!
I noticed something. From anywhere else it is fine... But when you click on the walkthrough's link when at the forums... You get taken to
http://www.nedesigns.com/walkthroughs/
instead of
http://www.nedesigns.com/walkthrough
also from the parkmaker pages
and from the neinvitationalsEdited by JJ, 05 September 2007 - 10:14 AM.
