In the New Element 3.0 forum skin, how do I find the permalink of a post.

my sig's not as perfect as i'd like it... but it's the best i can be assed to do with this new layout. It probably looks awful on the other skins...

Are there any plans to add the "Topic Description" to the new skin? right now you only see the topic title when you few the list of topic in a give form. The Topic Description provides a wealth of info that is no longer visible. Also we you be adding the date and time stamp to the last update column. Again, it's nice info that is now missing from the new skin.

Seriously, I don't like the reduced size for avatars or sigs, and I don't like the limited width of the forums, or the search problem RCTNW mentioned above, but the rest is good.

I like the limited width. For some reason I just prefer fixed width over liquid.

Seriously, I don't like the reduced size for avatars or sigs, and I don't like the limited width of the forums, or the search problem RCTNW mentioned above, but the rest is good.

Signatures used to have to be 500x100 pixels although no one ever enforced this and like I said before the forum with the rules in was deleted a long time ago. Also as I said before, we can finalise the signature and avatar sizes later. Again as I said before, there are three forum skins use whichever you prefer.

Yeah I find reading text across the full width of the screen like reading a book with the lines printed on the page landscape, this way there's about the same number of words (slightly more) than there would be across a portrait A4 piece of paper. I think that's a more natural way of reading. Of course there are going to be some people who prefer really wide lines so there are the other skins for those freaks .

Perhaps the forum skins need further explanation (well everything does but these appear to be causing the most confusion at the moment).

There are 3 new skins available, although one looks very similar to the previous NE skin.

New Element 3 matches the style of the main site (and it's the default one for that reason). The page layout doesn't change when you move between around the site and the menus, the navigation telling you what page your on and the search box are always in the same place. This skin also supports alternative style sheets so we can add alternative themes for the whole site in future.

Old School is for people who liked the forums just the way they were. This is a new skin which uses images from and looks very similar to the NE2 one. This has the advantages that 'My Assistant' works so new PMs pop-up like they are supposed too, the editor works properly (and it's not blue) and also that there are no javascript errors or missing images.

The vanilla skin from gpf design 'replaces' the default IPB skin. This is for people who do not want either of the NE skins and just want a normal clean forum style. This is hopefully a bit more interesting and more aesthetically pleasing than the default IPB skin.

I still haven't sorted out the avatars on the NE3 skin moving as pictures load in Internet Explorer. The problem is that there are 3 different ways to do the avatars but IE can't handle any of them properly, each for different reasons. But I'm pretty sure I know a way to hack this so they work as well in IE as in other browsers.

why does the wiki have "ne.wiki" at the top if that's not the address? it confuses me >_>
love the new look. nothing says "hellz, naw, this site ain't dead yet" to passerby (and apparently ride6) more than a spiffy new color change, new site owner/operator, new submission categories.. basically a shiny bucket of new just got dumped on the whole place, and it's for the better.
Can't give enough brownie points to you [ne3 team] guys. Darkfire, just tell me when you want your brownies. really. i'll mail them. You get brownie points^3 for not only hopping on board and pulling this 'when pigs are allowed on coasters' project to reality, but also bringing an awesome Blockbuster to help start the thing rolling.
i like the vanilla forums skin, but it just doesn't look as good to transition from taht to the blue shiny frontpage. can there be an option to make the frontpage vanilla too?
there are hundreds of AD concepts you could try.. i think a neat one would be to actually have a billboard type thing. A screen-covering bulletin board type thing, i mean. You get a polaroid-like picture frame to post a thumbnail, which will link to your profile page with the details/bigger screens. Topic title goes on the white space under the polaroid picture. it would probably have to be a flash plugin, but it would reinforce the "don't advertise unless you've got screens" mentality here.
anyway, back to real things.

Will there be seperate "features" tabs for H2H or PT3? i think a "PT3 participants" page is in order, kind of like the parkmaker pages... list of names, link goes to their screen[s].
Some sort of bracket for the H2H page, assuming that we'll do another one of course.
the signatures.... i dunno. they kind of get in the way. if everyones is only 100 tall it should be better. more as i tihnk of it.

When i enter the Greendale Blockbuster Park Page the little flowchart/file tree thing at the top left reads "Home»Runner-Ups»Greendale" when it should read home»blockbusters»Greendale. Majestic paradise and Soul caliber also read as runner-ups, but everything from Archicon on down seems to be home»blockbusters»xxxxxxxxx
