I'm curious to see where my PT park places (if it places anywhere at all). I really don't think its better than Shadowlands, so we'll see. -

I'll do the write ups, with someone else maybe? I can do most of them from memory to be honest. If you send me the next batch of list i'll do a small write up for each one. -

Tell you what, do these 15 and then if I think you did that well I'll send you the next few rankings. 100-200 words each please and keep them somewhat positive. -

On second thoughts, I don't have LL, and some of the LL parks I haven't looked at for a long time. I'd be happy to do the RCT2 ones, but someone else will have to do the LL ones, of which i'm sure there will be quite a lot. -

lol, i'm still on the list with glyphindel lol. If APE isn't the best coaster in that park i wouldn't know what is (apparantly ghost train, though). I think ghost train is more likely to be one of the weaker coasters though, personally. The WME count is up to 4 though, woohoo . -

Very nice work Turtle, now we just need a staff member who can do LL and discriptions can be added -

in my opinion, you're wasting your time with write ups.
levis, what was that comment anyway? you'd just eat what the write ups say? tell you what, all of them are contaminated with praisery that goes beyond any sort of common sense, while the parks themselves are actually bad.
it's a personal thing.
it always was.
so please, people, put your energy into something more worthwhile and useful. -

I need to check a lot of these parks out again.
I'm guessing this is Iris's list of favorite rct works rather than his favorite 100 full-scale solo parks ever.
Still I doubt I'll have anything on it. Euphoria City maybe, but hell, Disney Shadowlands is already up, so like I've got a snowball's chance in hell.
Oh, and WME. APE pwns.

Just some questions:
1) Who has the most things on the List, with how many?
2) Does Premier Amusement Park, by SupremeScreamer, earn the place it deserves, #1?
3) What is the ratio of RCT2 to LL parks?
4) Are there any CF releases, and/or releases from WW or TT or UCES?
5) Is it mostly solo 256x256 parks, or is there a lot of designs, minis, concept creations, etc.? Groups? -

I'd bet there's a multiple H2H / QTFBX / Designs in there somewhere, but towards the top it'll probably be big maps... well, mutli-mappers due to Iris's fetish. -

Answer: FUCK NO. And full-size solos are ~120X120 and up, not 256X256.
The first and third questions are worth while though.

SPOILER ALERT!
*Premier Amusement Park, by SupremeScreamer is NOT the #1 RCT Creation of all time* -

Haha.
Posix, just because you remember all these parks doesn't mean that everybody does. If a writeup gives someone the initiative to install LL and look at some parks, then so much the better. -

Positive write-ups, whether they be deserved or not, will get the parks exposure to people who have not seen them before, and those people can then form their own opinions of the parks, whether they be contrary to the write-ups or not.
I compare it to reading a favorable review of a new CD that is coming out soon and that you may be interested in purchasing. The review gets you excited to go deeper into the album and explore all the little details and nuiances.
posix, since you are so opinionated about what the write-ups should say, maybe you could do some. That way you would have some control over whats in them. After all, you are one of the most familiar with the older LL parks, and assuming you dont tear the parks to shreads in your write-ups, they would probably be very good. -

Now a list, is a list.
For RCT, it is always made by someone, or by some people, who always promote their own vision and own taste in there. So ``a list`` never is an objective thing or "the only thruth" - and never can be (it's not like running or skating 500 meters and objectively clocking that...!)
Nevertheless, I think Iris has proven to have a very good nose for good parks over the years - although of course releases on NE and parks in "NE-style" will be favourised over others, - so that makes it probably far more interesting to read/take notice from than a list from just anyone........
Write-ups of course can be very biassed too......if a park wins an award on your site, it would be weird to describe that in fact it just is mediocre and the award was only given for any kind of arbitrary reason.......
Or the writer can be personally delighted by things of which many others think "mwehhh...."
But still, whatever your taste is, a good write-up points out things in a park that otherwise you might overlook, or to which now you pay more attention to, not neccessarily to blindly agree on it, but to enjoy/dislike it and form your own opinion upon, like Ride_Exchanger described with the review of a cd.......
So Posix is right in a certain way.....don't believe everything you hear or read, and always take into accountise who is talking/writing.....like for sure you do with everything in life...... :' /> ......... don't you??
But when you use it as the beautiful help that it is to form your own opinion upon, and if you let it help you to dig (again) into things you had not noticed (fully) yet, this list and the write-ups will be not the Walhalla, but a really good instrument.
Thanks to Iris (and...?) for making this list, and to everyone who will do write-ups, it makes me open up parks again and searching for things I missed, or looking for ones I never saw before, so I enjoy it........
