NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Oregon lost Dennis Dixon and lost to Arizona. Now they need to lose again while USC wins out so that USC can go to the Rose Bowl.
What a crazy season. Next next week, I'm officially a Trojan AND a Beavers fan.
(btw, if USC makes it to the Rose Bowl and faces Ohio State, that would be the first of three games between the two in two years, since we play them in 2008 and 2009; VaTech did that with Miami like two years ago, right?) -

HaHa...I'm mildly amused. Arizona always seems to have a way of fucking with the standings come November. They can't win for shit the rest of the year, but November's another story. The joys of being a Wildcat... -

Since Oregon lost, doesn't that mean that OSU still has a chance to go to the National Title game if they win tomorrow? Lee Corso thinks so. -

Corrected for truth!

Yes, we were working out the scenarios today at work...its pretty crazy, but since this season is like no other, its possible
Of course, first and foremost, we must beat Michigan tomorrow...
West Virginia plays Cincinnati tomorrow...they could lose, and if not, they still have to face UConn and Pitt, who they could lose to...
LSU doesn't necessarily have to lose...we could play them OR they could lose to Arkansas or the SEC Championship
Then there are the 3 BIG 12 teams...Kansas has to lose to Missouri, and then Oklahoma has to lose to Missouri in their championship game. Then Missouri has to have lost to Kansas St...OR Oklahoma loses to either Texas Tech or OK St and then beats Missouri in championship...LORD, this is a pipe dream...
There are many different scenarios actually...so...GO BUCKSEdited by Buckeye Becky, 16 November 2007 - 05:46 PM.

Pyro's scenario for OU greatness still stands.
Then there's my scenario for USC getting into the BCS game: OSU, OU, Kansas, and WVU all lose their next games. VaTech loses in the ACC Championship game. OU beats Mizzou in the Big 12 championship game. Oregon State spirals to two losses to end the season because Dixon is out for the year. And LSU beats Georgia in the SEC championship game to stay #1. USC sneaks into the #2 spot by winning big against Arizona State and UCLA and plays LSU at the Sugar Bowl (location-wise).
C'mon... if you're a betting man, you bet on the Trojans, right? -

Go Buckeyes!!!!!!
I really wanted to watch this one...but I think I am yet again restricted to watching it with only gamecast
maybe i can at least find some way to listen to it...
I think we will make it to the BCS championship and win.

We better at least win that.

EDIT: Maybe it's just my personal belief but I think this could've been Mallet's time to shine, but "we needed the experience of Henne", the experience of what? Getting sacked, throwing high, and dislocating shoulders? Honestly, where was our offense? The D wasn't half bad (even if you're an ass hat Ohio fan you should be able to admit that) but we just couldn't do anything with our drives... Fuck... I'm going to be bitter until August like any other Wolverine. Next year we start anew (new running back, Mallet full time, etc); talk even includes a new head coach... Should be interesting. -

Outback Bowl, Shit Bowl, whatever.
But I suppose a game against Florida isn't so bad, at least we have a better shot there than say, a rematch of week 2 against Oregon (where I'm positive any team in the Big Ten, including Ohio would lose miserably)...
Heal up Henne & Hart, you can at least make the 4 & 8, 4 & 7 (the loss record Vs. Ohio State and in bowl games).
As I said though, next year we start anew. I don't really expect us to bring the fireworks quite yet but by 2009 I expect we'll be back contending for the Nationals again.

Becky were you by any chance at the Illinois game Skull Session?
No, I didn't get to any game this year. I thought I was going to get to go to the Mich St game but my husband misunderstood...and they were tickets to the BlueJackets hockey game.
Wow...I'm calling OSU all over Michigan next year. We will be sweet and Michigan will be green..not to mention it will be in Columbus.
I was disappointed that Cincinnati could not get it done over W. Va..penalties killed them. West Va still might get beat though.
Pyro..please tell me that Oklahoma played the worst game they have played this year, because they looked horrible. So much for the primetime attention. They are going to drop now.
One down...a billion other possibilities left...but I'm not worrying about it, I like the smell of roses -

OH SHIT SON!!!
I can't believe OU lost that one. If Kansas or Mizzou wins out, they'll probably ride into the BCS game over OSU. And don't forget: West Virginia has been playing solid football all season, save their loss to South Florida, and they could slip into the BCS game too.
The only way the BCS picture can get any more deluded is if LSU loses the SEC Championship game. That would break open all the floodgates and give OSU an even better chance of sneaking back in. Right now, I'm still not keen on the Buckeyes' chances, only because late season losses do a lot more damage than early season ones. Hence WVU's dark horse status too.
If OSU had indeeed lost to Michigan today, my USC road to the BCS could have still worked (cuz I was counting on Mizzou beating Kansas; didn't realize both teams had games today).
This has been one crazy season, and I guarantee there'll be even more clamoring for a playoff, because the top 12 teams (at least) can beat each other on any given day.
Also, Hawaii does NOT deserve to make a BCS Bowl. A win over Boise State *might* change my mind, but they wouldn't stand a chance against any of the teams ahead of them.
What sucks for Oregon and Oklahoma is that both teams had their BCS hopes dashed because their star QB's got injured. You'd almost rather have had the other team just upset you. Now, for both schools, it's "what if?" -

Thats what they said about Boise State last year...
For now it looks like a LSU vs. Kansas BCS championship game, with Missouri and WVA on the outside looking in. OSU is probably the only other team who could potentially make still, maybe with an exception in ASU. -

Boise actually accomplished something last year. Boise had wins over real teams like Oregon State (who beat USC last year). Boise didn't go into overtime against really bad teams, or barely squeak out wins. Hawaii is terrible, and it is not just the level of competition that says they don't deserve it, it is the way they play.
On a more personal note, the game tonight pretty much sucked. Yes Becky, that was probably their worst game of the season. Though they have had some bad ones. Losing Bradford in the first quarter killed us. I thought he was kind of a system QB all year, benefiting from the players around him, but we are awful without him. I still am very happy that we pulled within contention late, and that no touchdown call was complete crap, that game should have been tied. Still, part of me is glad because playing the way we have the last three weeks I know realistically we would have been killed in the NC if we would have made it. So hopefully we can win the Big XII still and play in a BCS game against a more beatable opponent. Get some momentum going into next year.
I really don't know if I would throw Kansas into the title game. They have what it takes to beat Mizzou or OU, but not both. I think Mizzou will beat them in all liklihood, Mizzou is playing far too good. I will be rooting for Mizzou now, if only so hopefully OU can make it to the Big XII championship and then crush Mizzou's NC dreams. That would take the heat off of me for this loss.
Just a disappointing game all around, everything went the wrong way. Literally every call and play after the first interception. Just a bad feel until the fourth quarter. Hopefully they regroup, come out strong, and win next week. Apparantly we got destroyed by injuries. Our starting QB, best running back (Murray), and best defensive player (English) all might be done for a little while. So not cool.
