Nice! Will try it out later this week
Thanks for your continued dedication towards this -

This is perfect and addresses the issue we had with having to swap out the g1 file
Since installing this will have no effect on the game, I strongly encourage everyone to install this version. By having it installed, if you download a park intended to be used by rctmodified, it will be saved as a SV7. When you click on the file name, it will use the appropriate rct2 version (either regular or modified). In short you don't have to do anything!
JJ and Levis - Excellent work again!

When I was creating this I did find a way to remove the floating banners but that only worked when a ride was closed/testing and it was gone on all the entrances not just the invisible. I will keep looking for ways -

This is some awesome progress JJ!
I couldn't get it to work with my cracked version, but I'll look for ways to get it to work with the RCT2 CD..
I also hope you can get the floating banners gone, then it's perfect..
Now I must get my park finished

Nvm, I got it to run on my other computer (where I'm actually playing RCT2 with)..
I was testing it on my laptop yesterday which I guess has not the cracked exe, but still the original exe..
It works like a charm, and hopefully it'll get all those non-believers over the line
My new park will be in .sv7

RCTM 1.3 Breakdown
Currently underway
Updates to Modified
The black tile will have underground vision like so:
The coloured checker tile will also have this as well as shading on the hills rather than the same colour throughout. You can see below an example however this graphic is glitched as you can see a green outline on the upper tile around each area.
_____________________________________________
Breakdowns will be reduced, This will be applied to rctmodified.exe as well as rct2.exe
There will also be two optional extras.
1) HEX Numbers instead of units for heights (doesn't change the m/feet)
(Images will be updated to be clearer as Fr3ak will create them)
2) Graphical changes such as below.
There will be various different downloads from this point on produced.
You have the 4 basic combinations of the dats: This is allowed as the HEX and Graphics don't affect how parks are viewed.
Base, HEX, Graphics
Base, Graphics
Base, HEX
Base
There will also be 3 other downloads for the original RCT2.
RCT2+HEX
RCT2 + Graphics
RCT2+ HEX + Graphics
Then there are the 4 rctmodified.exe. (4 languages)
Then there will be 3 rct2.exe to reduce breakdowns (3 cos I don't how to do the german one)
so rctm 1.3 will consist of 4 x g2.dats, 3 x g1.dat, 3 x rct2.exe, 4 x rctmodified.exe
Hopefully there will be one installer... -

Sounds good, if a little complicated. I don't like the idea of having so many different files to swap around.
The alternative graphics look good, but I don't really see the point in them to be honest.
The main thing I'd like to see is the removal of the floating banners. -

It isn't complicated
In theory since the HEX and the pointless graphical thing which is just for fun for me don't alter anything as in don't alter how people build. So you still only have the two dats, the rctmodified and the rct2 the complicated part is on my end.
You don't need to swap anything around, it is simple on the user end. Hard to explain. -

As for the floating banners right now I have tried so many different ways but none of them are ideal. I do keep looking but until I can find out to edit the data for the actual entrance then I can't do it -

And there is no swapping as you just have two different games installed at the same time due to the 1.2 update.
(Sorry about the triple post was on a connection where it would take forever to edit posts so i just gave up)Edited by JJ, 19 July 2008 - 08:55 AM.

The update for RCTModified has many different install options. Please ensure you select what you want with the installer. The installer creates a rct2.exe.bak and g1.dat.bak file for uninstallation so please do not delete otherwise uninstalling may cause an error. You can download RCTM and just install various components such as the Reduced Breakdown RCT2.exe without having to install anything else. It is all based in one installer. This version has updated images for the checker as well as new underground images along with underground images for the black tile. There are also hex height images which are optional as well as the new graphics for the game. This one took a lot of time so I hope you guys enjoy this update. You can read a bit more and get the download HERE
It is recommended you uninstall previous versions of RCTModified to ensure a smooth install. The language you choose before installation is just for the installer please ensure you select the right language/package when installing.
Also if you have any problems view the FAQ And if your problem is still not solved please use the support forum.Edited by JJ, 28 July 2008 - 06:17 PM.

Okay I have solved the incorrect file size and the problems with installing the dutch version. A new version of the installer has been uploaded. I've also allowed removal of installing the RCT2 Data and removed the Original Dat as an option in order to reduce file size of the installer.

This is some pretty cool stuff.
On the topic of your ride entrance banners. Are you unable to change the "default" station/entrance types only? If you could find a way to change only the default entrances this would also allow use of entrances when needed, and omission when unneeded. -Just a thought.
Keep modding!
